The purpose of this thread is the specific function of Jojo fans creating their own iconic Stands, the signature "fighting ghost" of the franchise, and reviewing others made by other tropers. If you are not familiar with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure but would still like to participate in a writing exercise, feel free to read the Jojo wiki's page on Stands to get an idea of what we're looking for here.

To the already initiated, have fun!

Stands, explained on the Jojo Wiki

A Stand (スタンド Sutando) is a visual manifestation of life energy (in other words, the manifestation of the soul of the user).

A Stand is an entity psychically generated by its owner, referred to as a Stand User (スタンド使い Sutando Tsukai).[1] It generally presents itself as a figure hovering over or near the user and possesses abilities beyond that of an ordinary human, which, depending on the Stand User, can be wielded for good or evil.

How one could make a more "Araki-like" Stand on Reddit.

Think Sticky Fingers, think Diver Down, think Nut King Call, think Tubular Bells. These stands change the physical properties of objects affected by their abilities. To an untrained mind, these would seem like weak abilities, but they have so much potential because they are so straightforward.

Araki also likes to do automatic bound stands, but most people on this sub fuck that up too. Automatic bound stands are powerful, but are restricted by activation requirements that must be met by the targets. They also aren’t stupidly OP, but can be potentially deadly since the user has no control over them. Avoid making these types into intsa kill stands as that’s boring and not creative. Weapon type stands are also unique, but shouldn’t be over powered either as the user has the most control over this type.

Not to criticize, but Diver Down and Sticky Finger aren't exactly example of weak abilities both being punching ghost with instakill abilities (Diver Down can one shot people and Sticky Finger instantly decapitated you) most stands for part 3, 5 and 6 are broken but you don't notice it because everything is almost broken as well, don't believe me? Try to describe the stands from la Squadra or passione like post from this sub and all of them with the exception of Mista, Abbacchio and maybe tiny feed could catalogued as OP or at least really strong with not direct weaknesses, The greatfull death? Sounds like a low effort "gas" stand that just incapacitated instantly multiple targets.

Stand only start to get more weak on average in part 7 with some notable exceptions like Scary Monsters or In a Silent Way

Oh, I had one of these years ago. Even commissioned some art of it (done by @theangriestman on Tumblr, but I dunno if they're still around)

This stand's ability is a direct reference to its namesake song: it allows the user to instantly reverse the direction of any turning, spinning, rotating, or curving motion.

While this might not seem like much, in practice this means that the stand is extremely hard to hit, as it turns out there are exceptionally few things in the universe that move exactly in a straight line and almost any motion can be thrown off-course by altering its curvature.
