Picture this: The Red Ranger and Rita Repulsa from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers develop a Forbidden Love and have to hide it while fighting each other.

Episode 1 of the anime aired, and Its so cute I love it. Plus, other then that, It feels like a genuine sentai, and not a parody aside fromt he main hook.

Oh, the anime is out? The manga has stalled a bit, or maybe just the scans.

Does it have a dub?

The scans stalled because it got an official publisher, apparently.

The Cats gonna be the final boss of the relationship, and will become a Kaijin to fight Red. Calling it now.

Makes sense that Desumi would like the date plan Fudo cooked up, she’s also kind of a muscle idiot.

Are we sure it's Red and Rita and not Red and Scorpina that makes more sense as the comparison?

Got up to date. The love story between Fudo and Megumi is kinda basic but I’m still into it. They’re both idiots. And the sentai parts are surprisingly good.

Good on Pink Gelato for not squashing Fudo and Desumi’s relationship with a scandal. Hope she finds someone nice too.

Personally I found the Pink Gelato plot kind of annoying.

Her being in love with Fudo felt very unnecessary when the crux of her not revealing the relationship was Desumi's actions in the past. Having her in love with him felt very, "well Fudo is the protagonist so of course girls are in love with him".

So her proclaiming Desumi better watch out if she lets go of him after a nice resolution without Fudo had me rolling my eyes.

Weirdly, that part at the crosswalk is anime only. The chapter in the manga does not have that and ends with the scene on the park bench.

Manga spoilers: Gelato Pink doesn't really do much else for the next lot of chapters. She does study with the two of them, in a chapter that reveals that both Fudo and Desumi are top scorers, but they're space cases that relate everything back to muscles or nonsense.

Well Pink already had an obvious crush on Red. The latest episode just resolves the looking love triangle subplot.

Just got done bingeing the episodes that are currently out, and as a Sentai and Toku in general fan, I'm loving it! I'm avoiding reading the manga so I don't spoil myself on stuff that happens later, but I'll definitely pick it up for reading after the anime ends. The award for best OP visuals this season go to Spy x Family, IMO, but this show definitely has the grooviest OP in terms of music and the visuals aren't bad, either:

The ED is also cute and a good song, though I don't like it as much as I like the OP.

I guess everyone here but me has dropped it or doesn't want to talk about it, eh? Well, the episodes since my last post have been great as well! I wish more people would check it out, it's a really fun series...

Completely forgot this had a thread too. Anyway, I think Green Gelato’s focus episode is my favorite episode yet. Clearly Desumi had solid grounds for refusing monsterization, because Daigo already made her one. I also love Daigo’s schtick of pretending to be cool while screaming internally.

Haven't started it yet, but am up to date with the manga. That opening wasn't just super nice and cute, but SOOOO hilariously out of touch with how everyone is portrayed vs how they actually are making it even better.

The latest episode also makes it clear that either Fudo is unreasonably powerful himself, or Reaper Princess was holding back even before she and Red Gelato started having feelings for each other.

Fudo is the leader of the team for a reason I guess.

I don't think he's as strong as Desumi though. Based on her fighting him on par while he's transformed.

Episode 9: You know I do appreciate how positive this series is. Fudo manages to convince Desumi’s dad to consider sending Desumi to college with some good old-fashioned spiritual bonding. There’s a part of me that feels like there should have been more conflict, but mostly I feel like the idiot couple should be allowed to continue their romantic shenanigans. Also props to the dad for perfecting the art of defeat. What a fearsome skill.

Urami (Desumi’s little sister) is also quite the interesting character, actually. She wants to follow in her sister’s footsteps because it was her sister’s strength that saved her from bullying, and she’s utterly shocked Desumi is just a regular teenage girl. Silly duckling, your sister is monstrously strong regardless.

Yeah, Desumi hasn't become weak, she's just chilled out a little.

Though given her interactions with Daigo, she's always been like this so I think she might have been more relaxed away from home or Usami's memory is a wee bit selective (I vote option B).

Been watching this for a while, and it's my favorite current "idiots in love" series alongside Shikimori (but without the "there's definitely something weird going on here" vibes Shikimori has) and Komi-san.

I like that the last few episodes have been branching out the supporting cast, and doing it well. The episode about Green Gelato / Daigo is one of my favorites so far.

Episode 10: For a brief shining moment Red Gelato and Reaper Princess get to flaunt their lovey-dovey relationship in public. So adorable!

Good thing Desumi has so many Bosslar dolls.

Indeed, haha! Very cute episode! The animation on Hojo and Desumi's chase in particular was really nice, though!

Also, the OST is releasing (seemingly exclusively digitally) on the 22nd, so look forward to that, I suppose! I know I will be! :D
