Hi, Having read only a French translation of the Belgariad, I have this question: What's the title of the Algar leader in English?

The French version calls him "Chef des chefs de clan" (chieftain of clan chieftains) and if it's similar in English, then that would qualify him for a mention in the series' The High King trope entry...

[up][up] Chief of the Clan-Chiefs if I remember correctly. it's been a while since I re-read it. But no Cho-Hag most definitely not count as The High King. If anyone fits that trope its Garion once he assumes the throne of Riva. The Algarian clan chiefs might be more autonomous due to their semi-nomadic, pastoralist life-style but they're the equivalents of earls, counts, barons and the other assorted nobility of the other Alorn kingdoms.
