Should Loose Canon and Schrödinger’s Canon swap names?

Am I the only one who thinks that Loose Canon and Schrödinger's Canon should swap names?

Loose Canon refers to a work that fits near perfectly in canon, yet is not confirmed to be canonical, so it exists in a bizarre middle ground, and can be considered either canon or non-canon, as there is no way of knowing. This is akin to Schrodinger’s Cat, in which, until the box is opened and definitive proof is found, the cat can be considered both alive and dead.

Schrödinger's Canon, meanwhile, refers to a work that is supposed to be canon, but contradicts the canon work in many ways. The term “Loose cannon” means “an unpredictable or uncontrolled person or thing likely to cause unintentional damage”. The type of work Schrödinger's Canon refers to, similarly, causes unintentional damage by being inserted into canon. (It can also be said to be playing “fast and loose” with the canon).

I posted this in the discussion pages for these tropes, but it got no attention there. Can someone else weigh in?

You would need to take this to the Trope Repair Shop to switch the names. But first, you'd need to do a wick check to prove that the names are causing people to misuse the tropes. If the names are a bit inaccurate, but they're not causing problems, the thread will probably be declined.

Is Tv Tropes Will Ruin Your Vocabulary really something worth "keeping" as a status?

Besides, it's better to prevent misuses than to wait for it to happen, right?

While the Loose Canon, Canon Universe, and Continuity Tropes pages say Schrödinger's Canon is about spin-off contradictions, the actual page doesn't say so. That assertion was added to those pages in 2019. So let's be sure about the definitions first.

Um, Trope Talk is not the place to discuss renames. We use Trope Repair Shop for this, and we need evidence of an actual problem not just an assertion.
