[up][up] If we’re talking 20 minute episodes, I’m pretty the Dvalin arc could fit in less than 10 episodes without any rush. Unless they want to develop some of the early characters a bit more.

…Regarding the game, I remember seeing a quest early on with the little Hilichurl linguist but I haven’t had that yet. Is there a way to trigger it or did it happen later than I remember?

[up] There are a couple of quests in that questline, but both are only available via daily commissions.

New anime, regions, and characters look good. Anniversary rewards are... well, the same as last year, only difference being swapping the paid event bundle for a pet instead and offering the 1600 additional primos up front as opposed to using them for damage control. But that's pretty much about what I expected. Here's hoping it's enough to keep the review bombers at bay.

Hey there! Been a long time. Genshin impact killed my last phone and i was anxious to go back since, so its been well over a year since I last played. That being said, I got a laptop recently and am kinda curious if ita worth gerring back into it, having missed so much content and all.

If that last time you played was before 2.0, there's two full regions (Inazuma and Sumeru) and two sub-areas (Enkanomiya and The Chasm), plus new character story quests and hangouts, which are a ton of content on their own and well worth checking out.

As for events, you can look up videos of the Flagship ones, since those had some neat stuff and showcased various characters, like Shadows Amidst Snowstorms (2.3), Hues of the Violet Garden (2.6), Perilous Trail (2.7), and Summertime Odyssey (2.8).

[up][up]As noted there is two whole new regions with their associated quests, characters, and activities.

Really with Genshin not playing for a vast stretch of time is in some ways a good thing, it means when you come back you'll be able to have a whole lot of content available.

All right, I'm gonna try my best to finish up the Aranayaka questline before 3.1 rolls in. Wish me luck everyone!

Alright, it’s Hero of the Night hour! A nice little quest with Diluc before moving on to Liyue. Actually I have a shitton on new quests all of a sudden, ha ha.

Also unlocked Dori, which is the latest character released, I think? She’ll have to wait though, I already have my hands full with my current party. =[

…Oh and also WTF did that woman just steal Venti’s powers?!

Good call waiting to build Dori, you won't get to access her level-up materials until much later. And yes, someone did just walk right up and give the Anemo Archon a beating. You'll be meeting La Signora and her fellow Harbingers many times in the future.

[up] Got it!

Alright, I tried to pay a visit to Mount… I don’t know the English name, Dragonsomething? And I died. And died again. And again. Yeah, another time, maybe. [lol] I have no idea how you break that Cryomage’s shield and the 3 bandits kicked my ass before I could even start the climb; and when they didn’t, the cold did. Holy shit. Yeah, I understand why that area was excluded from all normal achievements now. evil grin

Also try to farm green crystals for the blacksmith but I have no idea how many I’m supposed to get. Those things don’t exactly grow on trees, even in Dvalin’s lair.

Finally, I met the King of Wolves, Boreas! Or is it Andros…? Or Andrius? I don’t know, but I dig this quest so far. Too bad the challenge version of the boss is way beyond my current capacity, unless I spend an entire afternoon on it.

And I’m now discovering Spiral Abyss! Only got to the second floor. Lvl 40 enemies are a bit too tough at the moment, but the primogem rewards aren’t bad.

For Dragonspine you gotta make sure you are going from safe place to safe place and use the ores to give you an immunity for a while.

And for Cryo shields, gotta use Fire. They are immune to Cryo and Hydro damage but take a ton of damage from Pyro.

I know, but the one near the entrance keept regenerating her shied as soon as I was about to break it. I only managed to take it down once, but I don’t know how. Maybe it had something with those cryoflies that she summoned…

Wait, you mean the Cicin Mages? ([up][up] thought you meant the regular Cryo Fatui, I think).

Also, you mean that desperation attack of theirs where they surround themselves in a shield and glide around the stage dealing damage (I didn't know the cryo ones did that too)? Unless you've got characters that let you can deal a lot of elemental damage without taking a lot of damage in return, it's best to just run away while that one happens.

That one, yeah. Dunno why the French version translated "cicin" as "luciole"… No "desperation" attack though, she was just surrounded by that cryo shield the whole time.

Seems like the kind of enemy I’d better stay far away from, huh…

Damn, it's been entirely too long since I fought a Cryo Cicin Mage. I forgot they did that. The regular ones only do it as part of a specific attack.

Though I still go back for domains and bosses and such, for the most part I never go back there. You'll definitely get used to handling its challenges and enemies, but that doesn't mean it's not still the most unpleasant region in the game.

For a Cryo Cicin Mage, when they shield you can power through with Pyro. Or just kill the Cicin (the flyers).

When the flyers are out, you cant interrupt her very easily as well.

For the cryo cicin mage, she does form a shield once her flies are summoned. You'll have to take those out before breaking her shield, otherwise she'll just continually regenerate it. She isn't too bad once you get a little stronger, but she can be pretty tough early on, particularly if you aren't able to burst the flies quickly.

I don't know if you've done enough Spiral Abyss for our free Xiangling, but popping a Guoba next to the Cicin Mage is probably the strongest counter to her shields if you want to kill both her and others. (If you want to focus on her, wait until Yanfei is on rate-up.)

...This is the point where I feel dirty telling you that you can elevate her, if you spoil yourself for where to go for a particular Liyue world boss, who can be easily cheesed with your guaranteed Noelle.

...At least she's not Heizou!

Alright, after a date (?) with Lisa and some dungeon farming, I can now fully step into Liyue! Well, maybe I could have from the start, I forgot to try during the Xiangling quest… I honestly got scared for a second because I thought I’d have to cross Dragonspine to reach it. evil grin I stopped at the first Geo Statue, still got a ways to go to reach the city itself.

Still stuck at Floor 2 in Spiral Abyss, I can’t get enough stars to unlock Floor 3. Keeping enemies away from the monolith is pretty hard…

PS: Also, I must say it’s pretty ridiculous that the game warns you against playing any copyrighted song with the lyre because you or the company could get sued… It’d like arresting a street artist for copyright infringement, come on…

…On the other hand, it’s pretty neat that you can actually play a lyre! Though it’s hard with a controller, ha ha.

Final Fantasy XIV warns of that too and also gives you a few XIV songs that explicitly cant be played, they actually will ban too for playing said songs.

Its quite the legal issue.

[up] What’s the instrument in FFXIV, I’m curious? surprised

Anyway, started the Geo Archon Quest, and boy hody what a start. tongue …Is what I’d like to say, but everyone seems weirdly… chill about the whole "our God was murdered" thing? Like, the escape sequence after that was almost comical in tone, that was weird…

Other than that… How do I change Traveler’s element? I interacted with several Geo statues and even picked up a few Geoculi, but she’s as anemo as ever.

talk to the statue as the Traveler, not as any other party member. There will be an option to 'resonate' with it.

Also now that you are in Liyue, supposedly you can go right into the Dendro area and resonate with Dendro if you wish but the big thing about the Geo Traveler is they are needed for Liyue puzzles so maybe not recommended. (I have not tested this but I only read it on reddit.)
