Definitely loved the art shifts throughout the ep. It gives a false sense of security for what is actually the overall darkest episode to date, especially the last 3 minutes showing that Juichi was more broken then he let on.
Watch SymphogearEpisode 11: It's all coming together... the biggest test the kids have ever faced. MINA is explicitly calling them Hiruko now. What is that AI planning? Those gurgling, creeping noises at the end of the episode are NOT a good sign...
Takahara Academy has also been developing combatants and weapons, which we'd already inferred from the Kiruko-Beam, but now the plot thickens with the reveal that they've also been dabbling with brain transplants in a bid for immortality. The director herself is planning to transfer her mind to the lady she'd just promoted. Talk about a bad boss! And of course this whole brain transplant thing is very relevant to Kiruko's situation.
Oooooh is Robin at that facility Kiruko and Maru spotted?
WTF at that sudden Mimihime torture scene. GIVE HER A BREAK. And uhh I think we found the kid who turns into the mindscrewing Man-Eater... AND the Man-Eater Kona turns into... Anyway, Mimihime the freaking MVP for willingly pushing herself through those horrific hallucinations to make Ohma feel better.
Episode 12: Pardon my language, but what the fuck. Going to reserve my thoughts until more is explained, but what the fuck, Robin. You asshole.
Let's say, if I was not spoiled about this, watching the episode would have been not as hard...
I already knew about what happened going in, nut yeah, this entire segment is VERY Controversial amongst manga readers.
Watch SymphogearI was partially spoiled, and I am going to wait until next episode to judge this.
x4 My thoughts exactly... This in Pride Month too... It really leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth...
Episode 13: God DAMN was it satisfying having Maru deck everyone. Eat shit, Robin. EAT THE WHOLE STINKING PILE.
The worst part is we didn't even get any answers from him. But we can theorize a bit. I have an uncomfortable feeling that Robin was involved in Kiruko's death. And from the looks of it... Robin might have been sexually abusing Kiruko before, too. Never come to know your idols, Haruki...
Also we get more confirmation that Usami was Shiro and the person he was taking care of was Mimihime. Interesting that they appear to be heading to a city at the end there.
This is my new Made In Abyss. I will be resisting the urge to read ahead... unless I have reason to assume another season isn't getting made.
Nitpick: Slightly miffed that Kiruko/Haruki just gets over what Robin did to him.

This is not as surprising. They are living in a pretty harsh world and Kiruko got used to it. It would be more strange if they got trauma for life because of what happened. To bad Maru was stopped this time but, as people speculate, Hiruko stopped him for his own sake, not for Robins (he was stressed about only being able to kill before after all).
And yes, associations with Made in Abyss are a bit on spot here as while the manga comes out not as slow, we still have only enough material for half a season. So even if the continuation is greenlit, the wait will be long.

Granted, Kiruko's resilience can be explained somewhat by the state of the world they're living in. But it still feels like too clean a break. We're not expecting him to get scarred for life, but he definitely should have been more affected. They do lampshade as such in the episode.
We do not know how Kiruko actually feels here. It may be just a fasade to calm down Maru.
Possible, though this anime is usually good at telegraphing that sort of thing.
Yup, the Man-Eater was definitely one of the moms. As for Maru, he can somehow sense Man Eaters so maybe that’s what he got from Kona. His Maru Touch would then have to come from Tokio.
