If you're confused by her line "Makes all that training worth it. Matsuri dear!" on the last page, it seems to be a result of translating a very ambiguous two-sentence phrase:

Literally, those individual sentences mean "(It) is worth training, isn't it?" and "Ma-tsu-ri" (enunciating his name for emphasis). But I think together they're supposed to make "Matsuri" the implied subject of the first sentence, thus "You're worth training, aren't you, Ma-tsu-ri?

The English version sounds like describing a past event, but I think Matsuri's mom is talking about something she has planned for him. "Chōkyō (調教)" specifically means to train/break an animal, adding a threatening implication.

The Spanish version goes out a limb for something similar: "I guess it's worth taming you a bit, don't you think?"

Matsuri's not so much emasculated by wearing girl's clothes as upset about losing that specific form of underwear. He even cries for them Kenshiro-style.

Chapter 47: You know I remember liking how this manga leans on ayakashi folklore to propel the plot, and I gotta say I am legitimately impressed with how Yabuki integrated the fanservice-y beach episode] here.

Yeah, this is one of the best reasons for a swimsuit episode I've ever seen.

"We have to dress slutty to provoke a spiteful god." Soga's pretty ripped under that his shirt; really makes me wish Matsuri's female form was more muscular. I do hope the fight itself is played relatively straight, though.

If the design of Reo's "disc-type" machine seemed oddly specific, here's an explanation.

A bit of a translation note: In English, Soga notes that Matsuri is still calling him by surname after finally calling him "Soga" a while ago. In Japanese, Matsuri called him "Soga-senpai", and Soga was surprised he even kept the honorific (Matsuri often just calls him "senpai"; his reply was basically "You're still my senpai, senpai.").

Next issue is the series' one year anniversary. It's "only" getting a second color page in a row instead of a cover, but there will also be a popularity poll (don't know if it's mail-in or online). Personally, I'm very curious where some of the supporting cast, like Soga and Lu, will end up.

And the plan is successful, thanks to the sheer power of teenage horny. This is stupid and I love it.

Also the power of underwear—Hiderigami blocked that attack, but Matsuri pushed through it as soon as his swimsuit gave him a wedgie.

This manga's unofficial motto. —- The two official translation handled Matsuri's last line different: In English he's talking about being a girl, while in Spanish he says he's just acting like he's a girl.

I especially love that Shirogane commentates on Suzu and Reo rubbing against Matsuri like it was a battle.

So what are the odds that the 3 ayakashi that they are facing didn't break out of their seals but were let out?

Mei was pretty specific about seeing them in her next life, even though there was over a hundred years between her death and Suzu being born. She may have set the seals up to release them once her next life was strong enough to take care of them.

Hmm... I wonder is Suzu becoming her own separate conscious from Mei part of the reason we are seeing this Mei.

My first thought is that this Mei is an ayakashi, actually. Something formed from her residual thoughts and energy.

Chapter 52: Yayo joins the circle of the exorcists! Maybe. The point is she’s not gonna get her memories wiped or anything.

Suzu’s got slick moves.

Having another exorcist would be kind of redundant. Sometimes it's useful, writing-wise, to have a civilian involved somehow even if they can't fight themselves.

But the number one question is "Are they gonna tell Yayo that Matsuri was male, fail to hide it, or successfully hide it?" The number two and three questions are "Will Lu having been possessed caused the same?" and "Will Yayo keep trying to hook up Soga and Matsuri?"

I'm glad we got more of an actual fight this time, but things were kind of rushed getting the whole thing and fanservice in a single chapter.

So Matsuri affirms he's still a guy on the grounds that a girl wouldn't get so hot and bothered over another girl. Someday someone's going to slip him a yuri manga and it's gonna blow his mind.

Matsuri's also being weirdly puritanical again (why is it wrong for them to do things like this, which are completely consensual), and this time Suzu's not even questioning it.

If Matsuri's just gonna be arbitrarily sure he's a guy, he'd better stop using "I'm a girl" as a reason not to go after Suzu. They really have to at least say they could date while Matsuri still has a female body, otherwise all this hemming and hawing is going to feel completely pointless.

Yabuki made a post where he described "Matsuri's decision" (which I assume means telling Yayo and Lu) as something he finalized during the storyboarding stage of the chapter. That makes me think it'll be a while until we see Yayo acknowledging Matsuri as male in any major way.

It pays for Yabuki to be doing a work that is not purely harem, ecchi romcom when you get developments like this.

Also, being able to vote for Female Matsuri and Male Matsuri separately on the popularity poll scammed Matsuri out of #1st. Combined they just barely edge out Suzu.

It’s hilarious how Suzu managed to defeat the possession by craving Matsuri’s lips haha.
