Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia

Loads of excellent Anas today but not enough to make me forgive less than a full episode of Uruk slice of life.

Ushi is actually one of the Servants that was there in Grand Order from the games inception, being a starter Servant

So she was created long before the Servant designs started improving & the titillation was at its highest.

And yet, Bradamante came out just last year.

Her outfit is unfortunate, if they wanted to go Tengu with her, give her actual Tengu clothes rather than this asymmetric mish mash of fabric that fails to cover the actual essential parts.

Though they've already released the preview images of next week and it seems a certain feline will be in the anime.after all. If we're meeting her then that means we've finally reached the point Gil acknowledges us, which means I can let up on my bashing of him soon.

Man, Gil was great in this episode! I love the way he went:

"Fool! Don't you know that, after a certain age, one may start laughing at the drop of a hat!?"

Wait, I just insulted myself, didn't I?

"No matter."

Still salty they skipped the subterreneans, but we may still see that next episode. Hopefully.

The "fight" in the throne room does help explain why Gil didn't put much stock in Chaldea at first, which I always thought was a bit weird in the game.

And I know everyone is still busy making fun of Ushiwaka's so called outfit, but Saori Hayami is a goddess and makes every scene she's in 1000% better, don't @ me.

Not much to yalk about other than that, really, this was very much what I like to call a "tilling" episode: more concerned with setting shit up than makimg much impact by itself.

Let's just hope the anime will survive the budget-wrecker that'll show up next.

Bradamante is in the datamine leak, and from the way they usually talk about the Servant creation process, it takes really long time to make even one. Those who we know will appear from the datamine are pretty much there since the beginning, see Liang Yu; Shitaya said that she recorded her lines in the beginning of FGO first year, and she only just appeared in Lostbelt 3. That's 3 years.

The point is, Takeuchi is horny, even more so than Wada - so we unfortunately have to suffer through his Saberface and half naked women.

Speaking of which, I'm surprised we're 3 episodes in and we don't have a Saberface yet. Maybe that's why this feels so refreshing.

There are no saberfaces or saber servants in Babylonia. Instead you get Rin faces, Gil faces and two others

a lot of them also switched artists, including Bradamante who was supposed to be done by the Tesla/Schez artist instead of the Xenoblade 2 guy

but I guess the general aesthetic might've been the same who knows

Basically the original datamined list has Semiramis as a Morii illustration, but final product is Konoe's work.

Actually it seems like Semiramis and Bradamante were the only ones to switch artists now that I've taken a closer look at it.

Morii Semiramis looks done with life but it would have spared us her hideous pigtails at least

He's surprisingly chaste as a summonable servant considering that.

He did mentioned going to see prostitutes everyday in the game.

Anyway, let Merlin enjoy himself a little, not long after he'll never again know what is like to rest.

Episode 3 was a good set-up for things to come. As someone who knows the plot of Babylonia but never played the game I can still tell some things were cut or truncated to get to the ending we got. Not much more to say that hasn't been covered last page, so I'll leave it at that and eagerly await next week.

I’m liking Ishtar’s new leitmotif, I hope they incorporate it to the game at some point.

No subterranean made me sad, but understandable; its basically a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment plot wise.

So apparently, Japanese viewers are shitposting about how useless Ritsuka is by having others fight for him...go figure.
