-Aichi's eyes widen when he hears Leos and Sthesia's responses.-

-Oh boy, he's actually smiling widely now.-

-However, Misaki is the one to catch the noise of the knocking. Even though she's sick, she's still attentive.-

-It's...-

"...Aichi... The door... It's Whisper."

"E-Eh? Oh, I'll get it...!"

-Aichi hurries out of Misaki's room, leaving her with Leos and Sthesia, and goes to open the door.-

-He... saw Whisper a couple of times, he believes? He knows that she's a friend of Misaki's though, so he's not worried.-

-He opens the door, and...-

"Hello?"

-It's Whisper, alright...but her mask is on and she doesn't have her rifle-

-She's breathing heavily, like she's been running from someone-

-Aichi's eyes widen a bit, and he quickly moves out of the way.-

-What happened to her?! Is she OK?!-

-Whisper silently walks in, looking around-

Whisper, are you okay? You look tired.

Wait, you're Whisper?

-The group are now in Misaki's room, and Misaki looks over at Whisper.-

"Whisper, what is it?"

-Is she OK? What happened?-

-Misaki's trying to sit up now, even though it's rather difficult.-

"M-Misaki, please wait...!"

-Aichi is right next to Misaki now, trying to make sure she's OK.-

"You need to rest..."

"I'll be... fine..."

"...So that's her name."

-Wait what-

-Whisper is quickly replaced with...a girl with fox ears, holding a police badge-

"Officer Foxglove, NPD."

-...Crap-

Card Capital (Aichi) and (Misaki)

-Wait, WHAT?!-

-Aichi and Misaki are rather thrown off by this, Misaki having finally sat up.-

"What...? NPD...?"

"...What do you want...?"

-Let's see... manipulating them in just a precise way to make it so Misaki gets in more trouble... and not just her this time, but Aichi, Leos, and Sthesia, too.-

-Sadly Misaki doesn't have enough energy to properly get angry at this point.-

-Still, she manages to shoot a glare at Foxglove.-

-Meanwhile Aichi stands in front of Misaki, rather defensively.-

"..."

"Nexus Police Department, and you just proved to me you've been harboring that criminal."

-She's a cop?!-

Harbouring a...? Do you know what planet you're on?! She's not a criminal, she's just a scared wolf!

-Needless to say, Aichi's not really happy.-

-And heck, aren't there LAWS about this?! Like... laws involving evidence and such? Cops having to reveal they're cops when trying to enter someone's premises? Warrants?-

-Aichi's not from America, but he's read a little about the laws there for the future...-

-And... WHAT?!-

-Misaki never attempted to murder anyone... She saw that footage just a bit ago, and it wasn't her...-

-And Aichi... is getting less and less impressed by this.-

"Misaki didn't hurt anyone! She'd never do something like that!"

Officer, if I may, we have reason to believe that there's an explanation behind Whisper "attempting" to shoot Handsome Jack. As far as anyone is aware, she isn't actually seen pulling the trigger.

Yeah! From our point of view, it's only attempted murder if it's actually attempted! And I'm fairly sure Misaki has actually been threatened by Hyperion's staff! Where's the due process here!?

I think, based on previous experiences she had, she believes that Hyperion is bad news. And I believe she's suffering from PTSD.

In her world, Whisper fought against someone called "Eggman," I think he's called? Whisper is probably part of the local Resistance in that world, so she probably has more than enough reason to not trust him. Or to open up to anyone at first, really.

Yeah, and Hyperion are probably looking really shady right now. First, they open up a new settlement in this town, and then a so-called bandit attack happens? It can't be a coincidence. And word is, he's got a production system that could produce an army almost instantaneously.

And we've heard that he has an orbital weapons platform if anyone tries anything, if the Commander's allied contact counts.

"...So you suspect Hyperion conspired with bandits to create a false flag attack?"

That's the theory.

And he's paying people to stay in his settlement. There's something odd about that.
