You know that someone doesn't have to be Ready to be part of the match, right? And Expert is easy to carry, but I try to play Special whenever possible unless I need to do my daily hosting or feel like helping out the hosts. Why help out people who don't care enough to honestly try? I don't "Nope" for low might, I nope for units that show the person doesn't give a crap.

The actual most annoying is someone who spams "Hey" over and over and never actually clicks "Begin".

Spamming Nope just wastes everyone's time. You do realize that, right? You're not saving time, you're wasting time, while also being a jerk. Why shouldn't I help people when it's also serving my own purposes?

6k water lead is enough for special. I don't care who they have in the back because they'll probably be dead after the volcano anyway.

I mean this faux-elitism seriously pisses me off. If you go "nope" at any point during this event, you're just an asshole, full stop. There's seriously no excuse for it.

I only nope once or twice then leave. I don't spam it. And it is really easy to keep your units alive after the volcano, unless you plan to sac them from the outset.

[up]Faux-elitism? You're the one going "Nobody else on the team matters but my badass lone wolf self, and anyone who gives a crap about the other players is bad!"

It's faux-elitism because you're not elite, you're just pretending you are as an excuse to look down on others. If you were elite then you wouldn't care because it doesn't affect you in the slightest.

You can keep your guys alive, but it's generally a waste of time in Special.

This is honestly getting way too heated over mobile Action RPG playstyles and maybe we should all turn it down a notch?

[up][up][up]I never claimed I was elite? I'm not a whale, I don't have a full 5* team. It's just that when I play co-op, I want to play co-op. It is in fact the whales with the decked out Hawk/Maribelles that I give the side-eye to.

You're looking down on others for not being "serious" about it, indicated by them doing something totally pointless (making a full water team) that doesn't improve their odds of winning by much. If you don't even consider yourself elite then what the hell are you even doing?

I'm certainly not a whale either, I've just got Karina and I pumped a lot of mana into her. And that's enough. Most people are using Celliera and that's great!

I think you are taking this way too personally and putting words in my mouth. I wouldn't Nope for anything but wind units or joke units like your unequipped Euden. I use Karina and Celliera and Elisanne.

And...what the heck? You need to be "Elite" to play a game? I don't know why this struck such a nerve with you, but maybe you should calm down a bit?

You need to be elite to look down on others. Which is exactly what "Nope" is. It's a pretty offensive practice to have people pop into your game, immediately Nope and leave. If the "offending" party isn't the host, then the host eventually has no choice but to quit even if they personally don't mind the offender, simply because other people keep leaving. That just wastes everyone's time and makes the game a less pleasant place for newbies.

'Nope' is an insult in this game, plain and simple.

Also Euden is in back you wouldn't even see him if you weren't already invested in looking down on people. It literally makes no difference to you, he's there because he has a powerful passive effect for my team but I don't want to invest in him.

I'm guessing this happens to you a lot? It's never happened to me, because people look at my team and see that I'm putting in the effort. I've never noped a host either, or any first joiner: I just leave. I understand it can be frustrating, but most people don't want to join a game that they think they'll have to carry, and the units you present are the only metric people have to judge you.

And you really think looking at people's teams makes you an awful elitist?

It happens whenever there's a low Might person in a game I'm hosting, who I don't think is a problem but apparently other people do. No one seems to care about me personally, since I haven't noticed this unless there's someone else with low might. I assume that people think I'm fine because I present with over 10k despite Euden.

I honestly have no idea if anyone's looking at my back-party, because seriously how could I tell? But you're the first and only person I've heard about who seems to care.

Also I do want to join games I think I'll have to carry because then I get the prizes for beating the mission. Which is kind of why I'm here.

[up][up]If it's something that hasn't affected you personally, then why are you throwing such a fit over it? Spamming "nope" is very rude, but so is bringing in a team that can't possibly contribute just so you can be carried.

[up]Huh, usually I play to have fun. I think that's a pretty common reason.

Carrying people is also fun? It makes me feel cool and helpful. Helping people is fun.

Watching people refuse to play with others for arbitrary reasons is not fun. I feel like those people are bullies picking on others. I have actual friends I talk to who talk about not being able to get games going because of the all the Noping. It's an actual problem for newbies.

Not everyone thinks that way. And Newbies should be leveling up on lower difficulties before trying to jump into expert; I grinded the boss level for a while until my Water team was up to snuff.

Funny, the "helping people" thing is honestly why I try not to host too much, since I know there are so many struggling to start games.

Your "water team being up to snuff" is irrelevant though. That's not actually necessary to win. Maybe you felt okay with doing that on your own time, but what you're doing is judging people for not meeting a completely arbitrary standard that you made up that does not correlate with victory. You're preventing people with perfectly viable teams from playing the game purely to satisfy your own ego.

Perhaps you don't want to think that you wasted your time doing that?

The fact that you're calling people elitists and bullies while constantly talking up how good you are and how anyone who can't carry sucks alongside personal insults is pretty ironic, just saying. I don't want to be the badass superhero carry who gives zero shits about her team, and the fact that that's apparently a requirement only for me and not for weak newbs doesn't mean that I don't want to play the team event as a team.

You don't know if weak newbs are weak though. Someone like you who built a full water team can just as easily be awful as a whale with a 13k Xander lead, or a newbie with 4k. The point is that none of this means anything compared to their actual skill in the fight, and judging people for it is just that, judging. I want to give people a chance to play, that's all. I mean you could literally bring a 2k lead with no back-up party at all and for all I know you're contributing more damage than I am. How am I supposed to tell with no damage meters or anything?

Judging people for their set-ups is elitism, pure and simple.

Unfortunately, the game doesn't give you a way to tell. The fact is, it's a risk. But if someone doesn't know how to put together a team for the event, that generally correlates with not knowing how to play it. Nobody wants to waste their time.

And seriously, "Don't use wind" isn't some super hard condition that it's elitist to expect someone to know. It's a basic understanding of the game.

And no, letting them watch you do everything after they die immediately is not really giving them a chance to play.
