I want to make the thread for this anime and seems that I was late due to the premier had showed earlier. Regardless... Here's the thread for the anime and if you don't know what Re;Rided is... This is the story courtesy of Random Curiosity:

"Thirty-two years in the future. 2050. Mankind is on the cusp of mastering robotics. Young engineer Derrida Yvain (Ono Kensho) gains worldwide recognition for his development of autonomous machines at his father’s manufacturing company. However, just before this groundbreaking technology is to be rolled out Derrida and his colleague, Nathan Bilstein (Sakurai Takuhiro), discover a flaw in the automata, but their warnings about the potential danger are ignored. The decision is taken out of their hands regardless; mere days later, the two are attacked by unknown forces. Derrida only survives by being frozen in a cryonics machine. Nathan does not make it. Ten years later, in 2060, Derrida is thawed out and awakens to a world devastated by war and mankind ravaged by out-of-control robots. Even amidst the chaos, Derrida remembers the final promise he made to Nathan, a desperate plea to take care of Nathan’s daughter, Mage (M.A.O). But she is gone. There’s only one thing Derrida can do: there is technology by which he can go back in time, back to 2050. What had happened on that fateful day in 2050? And is there any way to prevent it?"

This is another time travel anime directed by Steins;Gate director. Honestly, I want to look forward to this anime because I find it rather intriguing. Regardless of the bad first impression that someone has, I'd definitely look forward to this. Although the official release would be at October 3rd... It seems that Crunchyroll premiered the show first. So if you want to enjoy it... Yeah, I'm cool if you watch it on Crunchy. But personally, I wait and I will give my thoughts on certain episodes.

Since Re Rided got its 4 episodes released and I dont have a time to watch all of it... I'm just going to leave my thoughts on the episodes one by one (Especially on the recently released Episode 5) after I get into it or finish Buddy Complex.

Alright, just saw the first episode. Will post my thoughts later for the later 4 eps. Anyways, here's my thoughts:

So, Derrida is actually a scientist that developed a project along with his father called project "DZ" and it's about a robot. Needless to say, the experiment got bugged for some reasons so Derrida needs to neutralize the bug otherwise it could become a natural disaster. Meanwhile, Derrida also has a friend named Nathan and the latter wants Derrida help to work on his project about leaping time and Nathan's daughter, Mage, took an interest with this one. Also, Derrida seems having a bit of a daddy issues and it was revealed that the CEO that Derrida work for is evil all along and used those robots for his purposes...How am I not surprised judging by his first appearance. Also, a bit of a Downer Beginning but yea...

The story is rather intriguing but a bit all over the place, still...Can't wait to see how this go. And I heard this will be a 12 episodes anime...Oof, that won't be enough I guess.

Episode 2:

The world is now turned into a dystopian hellhole which is not surprising because the thing that happened in the first episode and seems that the guy who made the robots like that ended up becoming a rich person and paranoid to see Derrida still alive. And speaking of Derrida, he then met with new companions and surprises such as seeing the fact that his best friend's child dies but there's still some mystery about it. Not only that, that paranoid guy hires an assassin so that he could eliminate Derrida for good. Also, I noticed something that the voice of the badass guy that Derrida encountered could be a perfect replacement for the late Unsho Ishizuka IMO.

Episode 3:

I lied, now it was revealed that Derrida's friend's child, Mage, was alive all along and was targeted by the evil organization. As a result, Mage's friend, Yuri, joins Derrida team to find Mage. And yeah, in the beginning part, we saw the fight against the assassin...(Though I'm not going to be surprised if the assassin is turned out to be Mage so yeah...)

Episode 4:

This episode is about infiltrating the enemy's base and tries to gain an info regarding Mage and the DZ Robots in general. A little bit intense I guess but yea...Also, it was revealed that Andrei didn't put the bugs in. It was intended by the frigging government. Fuck them all!

Episode 5:

So many time traveling shit going on in this episode. Although we have a bit of a tearjerking relationship with Derrida and his father when Derrida travels through the past in the abandoned museum. Also, that assassin though...A bit OP but we'll see.

Late thoughts of Episode 6:

Derrida tries to change the past so that he could save his friend by trying to leap through time which ended up to no avail and even then, his memories got changed. Yuri's got taken away in the end...Oof. Overall an eh episode

Episode 7:

Today's episode introduced us to a new character, Steinwhatshisname or something. And he's the one who kidnapped Yuri and a representative of a government. Speaking of them...Man I still hate them to this day because how incompetent they were. And yeah, right now Yuri got rescued even after being kidnapped for one episode...Alright. And the Government representative is angry about it. In the end scene, Mage is talking with the mysterious man. I wonder what will happen to her.

Episode 8:

Now Derrida and co. is targetted again by Donna and it seems that she was pissed by Andrei by seemingly betraying her which in reality he didn't. Also, now Derrida and co. interacts with the character that save them, Cassiel and the latter tries to atone for his past sins. It seems that Donna hold a grudge with Derrida because of the DZ Bug and has an imaginary friend or something named Angelica. Also, man... I feel bad for Vidaux and the it seems that Derrida can't change time anymore which is sad but I hope it will change.

Episode 9:

Man... Vidaux does have a sad past does he but his sole happiness I think belongs to Mayuka and they spend along together despite Mayuka is not the real child of Vidaux. And then there's the fight with DZ Mech which got mentioned again in this episode. Also, god I really hate the government in this anime which made my veins pulse harder (Probably these guys are on my list on top 10 most hated groups/characters regardless) due to their decisions. Also, seems that in the end, Mage tries to learn the trout theory but we'll see.

Episode 10:

So that's why Donna turned into her current self for now. Seems that a shady organization stole an experiment from a certain scientist about a DZ that can replicate everyone which makes Donna insane (And her real name is Angelica Klein). And that bastard Andrei is dead. YIPEE!!! Also, new character introduced and is the scientist who developed said DZ project but abandoned it because of how dangerous it is but some stupid organization thinks its a good idea. Okay *facepalm*. And still **** the government ugh! This episode is mostly an infodump regarding D Zs and Trout Theory and I feel sorry for Derrida though. And man, that ending though. I guess Mage probably manage to make it to the past I guess?

Episode 11:

8 episodes in, I still hate the government especially those who are on the neighboring country and it's representative who tries to stop Derrida. Also, some interesting interaction between Derrida and Donna regarding the machines and it is unknown what will happen to her. P.S. RIP the mobile that Vidaux had and it is also unknown what will happen to Vidaux. Fortunately, the heroes made it to the top and try to find Mage so that they could change the time. I just hope the anime had a decent ending tbh...

Episode 12:

So, it was revealed that the Bad Future was the cause of Mage's memory? Alright and finally Derrida is able to change the past by convincing Nathan he will participate in the research and it was revealed that Andrei in the past was shocked about the DZ bugs. That was something. And now the series ends up happily ever after.

Alright... My thoughts on the anime? It's start off promising and had a decent concepts here and there considered the director's history of directing a famous good anime called Steins;Gate. But at the end of the day? The execution is rather poor and the narrative is rather messy considered they tried to cram the story into 12 episodes which resulted on so many mysteries got unsolved and so many holes in the anime. Also, the anime is kind of dull at best. Even then, I do think it still has a redeeming quality despite being bad such as the soundtrack of the anime and the OP is one of my personal favorite of this season. That and I do think some of the side characters, Vidaux, and his adopted child, Mayuka is more interesting than the protagonist and has an interesting dynamic altogether. But yeah, at the end of the day, anime is just a forgettable mess of a concept and IMO, this is where the anime needs to be longer than just 12 episodes as there are so many unanswered questions and plot holes like swiss cheese that make the story confusing at best.
