TBF the 900 hours guy probably needed that ban for the sake of his health. IIRC he explained that he was badly injured in a workplace accident and saw the game as an emotional crutch, to the point that he began to use it as a substitute for real-world activity and social interaction. 900 hours at that point was like 8+ hours a day every day since launch.
Something sad to most and darkly amusing to some about the game . . .
WV is in a crisis point over the Opioid epidemic. To the point there's entire cities rapidly falling apart under a tide of backpackers who got hooked on drugs, sold their homes, and now live on the road wearing backpacks. What's been updated into the game recently? Wearable backpacks that show up on the player characters. These real life back packers hole up in abandoned homes. What do us players do in-game? We ransack abandoned homes. Even sometimes sleep in them if we don't have a base yet.
The game manages to continue capturing the state of my home state, and I'm not sure they're even trying at this point.
And considering that Fallout: 76 is a post-apocalyptic game, that's really disheartening.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWe probably won't get to total apocalypse levels but some of the alternatives I halfway joke about would give the Enclave a run for its money.
Wait what the fuck?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."To be fair, waaaaaay back before game release, Charles Phipps was talking about it. He outright said if you go into the wrong neighborhood in real life WV, you'd swear you were in a raider den. Folks are trying to fix it but the first step's legislation against the drug companies flooding the market with addictive pain killers.
What's ironic is that Western countries once did the same thing with China, flooding the country with opium to get China addicted and dependent on the west. And now, the US is basically doing the same thing, but to itself.
Optimism is a duty.and both were all in the name of profit.
Ive yet to meet a single person actually wearing a backpack because the requisite missions to unlock them is so dang difficult. Most people just go to garrahan mining and make a suit of excavator armor.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youIve started to pick up some amazing legendary pieces. My two favorites are a two shot hunting rifle and a piece of leg armor that protects against radiation, ghouls, and reduces the weight of all my weapons by 30%. I also have a chest plate that has a 50% chance of allowing me to use a stimpack after I've been downed.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThis is the single best thing about this game so far, folks:
Lightwood Laminate! Lightwood Laminate! Lightwood Laminate!
TL;DR — the latest update screwed up the text strings in the Italian, German, and French language options so that enemies and items had mixed-up names, and some of these names are minor spoilers for the next DLC.
I have a super slege with the 90% weightless perk but is somehow still 6 lbs
What gives
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youTodd Howard recently did an interview with IGN where, among other things, said they knew about F76's problems before launch but stressed it's about what a game becomes after launch.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Todd Howard is full of shit.
The moment you started taking money from people, it mattered. If your product is garbage at launch, you have failed.
He should be on his knees thanking the gamers who are still playing 76 for being so damn forgiving.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWhy would he?
If anything the last year has shown us how little people running videogame companies give a shit about customers
I know he doesn't give a shit. The point is that he should. If only because even gamers have limits to what they will accept.
Disgusted, but not surprisedshould, ues. But imn pretty sure nothing short of the industry collapsing will stop people like pitchford or the executives at other big publishers from acting like frat boys who never left college
I got an Instigating Grognak Axe with a 40% bonus for power attacks. I can oneshot bloated glowing ghouls!
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youIgnoring the fact that the AAA industry could very well collapse relatively soon under the weight of their own terrible business practices, there's also the option for the workers to unionize and then crack down on harassment and overwork. They use unionized voice actors all the time, so it's not like the industry is violently against unions at all.

HELL YES
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThat weird mutant... *shudder* creepy.
I may actually, possibly, have to give this a go and I don't dip into multiplayer too much but this could be a step back towards Fallout 76 being... good?
NP Cs were what was lacking -a sense of building actual settlements that made Fallout 4 fun.
I'm not dead set on hating this game, mind you, just dissapointed that it was such a dud, and that it had so many PR problems, and worried that it will affect a franchise I really enjoy.
Optimism is a duty.
