And honestly it's still being nice compared to what the humans were doing to the monsters.
The soul thing is something I was unclear on whether I should care about. Because it sounds bad at first, but then we have the explanation about how they usually break apart of whatever after leaving the body anyway, and it made me think I shouldn't even bother caring because it doesn't actually matter.

A much later event makes it clear that those souls are pretty much gone for good and that this is probably something you shouldn't be doing if you don't strictly have to.

I'll spoiler it just in case, but re: souls:Been a while since i read it, but souls are basically a form of magic, much like how it exists in the air as magicules. So becoming a demon lord simply requires a shitload of mana most easily gained by sacrificing souls. But once you do that, the souls are pretty much gone. It's not like he becomes a giant soul jar ala the FMA humonculi.
Souls disassembling normally does sound like a normal thing. But the soul being eaten is a different story if you fsctor in how whats left will likely go on to be reborn in other creatures normally upon death.

To be fair, "world building, that revolves around wanking MC's ego and show him as god like in everything" is pretty common trope in Isekai, to the point that you can count examples that don't do that on one hand, probably.

TBH i don't know who you are quoting there.
Anyway the main reason i stopped reading the WN/LN isn't because it's rimuru wank, since that's actually quite funny because he's a slime. The reason i stopped reading: It's the fact that Great Sage not only starts to fight entire wars for him, but also goes far beyond Rimuru's own understanding. It predicts events Rimuru isn't even aware of existing. It's no longer a tutorial AI, it's basically an AI playing a game, and Rimuru is an NPC in it, as is everyone else.

I really hope they're planning something beyond more fighting for fighting sake. So far the original version of events was better.
This version of events is boring. And yeah there we go the undead priest dude is back like I thought he would be.
Proof that more stuff happening doesn't necessarily means it's more exciting.
Catching up, and they resolved it better than I expected. Everyone except Rimuru and somehow Clayman figuring out Millim was badly acting was hilarious.
And now, it's time for a second confrontation with Hinata.
BTW, there's apparently a game coming out that will feature Rimuru's daughter.
How does he have a daughter? The story was quite clear on him having no genitals.

After he gains the qualities of a dragon, which pass down almost all of their power to their offspring. Hence Milim's father dying despite being a dragon god and then taking a loooooong time to revive, and in another world with no power at that.
I guess I should spoiler tag this. It's not exactly important but it is stuff from fairly late in the series.
