I mean, 635 isn't a huge sample size. And different places on the internet have different opinions, so it depends on where you posted it.

Anyway episode 21 is out: Great Teacher Rimmuru saga continues.

No surprise that the kids have no trust or motivation. They've been stolen from their world, then tossed aside and told they will die. That will mess anyone up.

Man, Rimmuru had way to much fun bullying the kids this episode. Even employed the Big Boi Ragna for it.

Ah, the matches were all really cool, even if Rimmuru was a bit of a show off.

The dragon looks so goofy in this version. So does Rimmuru's adult version. Manga design was way cooler than that.

Episode 21:

Great... Some people didn't like the episode due to skipping several parts of the manga but oh well... Can't blame em. Anyways, the episode is alright. Rimuru fighting the kids had its moments and he also fight the Sky Dragon that ended up saving the salesman named Mjolnir or something like that and not only that, he also got an info regarding where The Queen of Spirits resides so that's a plus I guess. Oh! And then there's Altair Shout-Out too which is sweet.

Let me guess about the Queen of Spirits? Is it Ramiris no?

Is it only me or does Ramiris' voice actress sound very similar to Rimuru's (especially when he is joking or being playful), except for more energetic? I thought it was a bit confusing.

the new episode of Slime just droppped, the Queen of Spirits is gonna be a fun character to have around, we also got some more hints about Leon

Ramiris is a riot as expected, and I like how animated they made her, really using the medium to the fullest.

Also, the people who got fooled by the OP and though that she's gonna be the Big Bad must be really confused now.

Episode 22:

One more before the last episode. Today's episode introduce us to the Queen of Spirits, Ramiris. Huh... Now I see why the committee wants to speed up the pace of the anime because well, Ramiris has a pretty bombastic and funny personality and is it me or have I heard the voice before from Ramiris... And yea, I wonder how they will marketing this character of course. And some fight that Rimuru had won and it's revealed that Ramiris was the one who complete Vesta's failed research and some more information about Leon too: It was revealed that he used to be a hero but for some reason he become a demon lord so yeah...

Hinata was the one challenging antagonist the story actually had. After that her it's all downhill with Rimuru wank.

But I haven't really felt more than a tiny amount of tension since maybe episode 2?

So less tension doesn't sound promising.

Aside, I think the Great Teacher Rimuru arc has been the most fun I've had with the series since episodes 1-5.

Yea, theres also some good Isekai like Log Horizon that lacks any tension but thats just me. But yea... Less tension =/= bad show.

Agreed. I mean like you said, there's little to no tension on Log Horizon or Konosuba for that matter and both of those shows are amazing. A big reason is that tension and battles really aren't the point of these shows.

Edit: As an aside, Rimuru's growth got needed in the LN as part of the authors improvement changes.

Improved villain threat, I assume? Or with any luck take away his stupid overpowered Great Sage improvement.

The nerfed his growth rate(fucking auto-correct) and I believe the author also talked about changing the Big Bad. A lot of this is him being aware of the Power Creep and issues with the Final Boss. This was apparently in part with him getting the call for LN serialization as he was working on some of these arcs so he had to wrap things up prematurely.

Seems interesting. Due to changes, is Yuuki still a Villain in both LN and manga?

Is there like an interview or something that I can read about those changes?
