What we know is that Rose Quartz was known for her sword. Everybody seems to believe that Rose Quartz used her sword to shatter Pink Diamond. And we also that Bismuth did nothing wrong made the sword specifically to do all kinds of damage EXCEPT damage the Gem's...well, Gem.

And like Zircon said, it would have to be someone who could get close to Pink Diamond, without the watchful eyes of her Agates, Sapphires, or any Pearls. The obvious subject would have to be someone who can get in close, somebody that she shares rank with and could cover it up. So we think Yellow Diamond. She has the power both physically and politically.

We know that Blue Diamond couldn't have done it and we know that Blue Diamond doesn't know who did it. Remember, back in The Trial when the Zircon accused it had to be one of the Diamonds, she gasped. Gasped. She believed with so much certainty that it was Rose Quartz, but in that moment, she faltered. Because she's only gone off of what she's been told.

Blue Diamond wasn't there.

But if nobody was there, how could anybody know that she used her sword?

We know that nobody could be there, otherwise, Pink Diamond would've been saved-or, at least, alert that someone would be out for her life. So if nobody was there. If nobody could've seen this happen, then why is it that everybody who brings it up points to Rose Quartz and why is it that Blue Diamond is under the suspicion that she 'used a sword'.

But wait. Someone was there.

Someone who could walk in and out without anyone being the wiser. Someone that nobody would have suspected. Someone who 'saw' Rose Quartz do it.

Saw it with her own.

Eye.

....It's Eyeball Ruby. That's who I'm saying it is. I...I don't know how to do pictures here.

1. Ruby's are small and insignificant. She can easily get up close to a Diamond with nobody suspecting a thing. Why would they? Rubies throughout the entirety of the series have been shown to not be the brightest gem in the jewelry box. They're nothing more than easily transportable foot soldiers meant to fuse into bigger soldiers. We almost never see a single ruby, but instead, we see them in a group.

Even 'our' Ruby, that is part of a fusion to form Garnet, was with a squad of other Rubies. There's no Lone Ruby that stands out, just a pack that you call when you need a job done. So nobody would expect this one solider to walk in and kill a Diamond. That'd be madness.

2. She apparently saw someone kill Pink Diamond with her own eye. None of the Crystal Gems seem to recognize Eyeball, so they couldn't have been there when Pink Diamond was shattered. And she's claiming that Rose's sword cut Pink Diamond's gem, a task her sword couldn't do.

3. Even if Rose's sword can do that, or that she has another sword, we know that she would not do it. In fact, bringing back Bismuth, she had a weapon that could shatter a Gem, but she refused to do it. When Steven brings it up during the Trial, no reaction. As if the Breaking Point was never a thing to Homeworld.

So, let's review: Rose had no intention on killing the Diamonds and has no means of doing so. Everybody claims her sword did it, but it can't. And there's only one canonical eye witness to the killing and she has the capabilities to get in, do the deed, and get out with nobody being the wiser.

Eyeball Ruby is our gem!
