Still, with how the greek gods went around, it'd be smart to ask.

So as if two sides with seven Servants each wasn't enough of a mess we get Ruler and the homunculus kid. Will be interesting to see how they factor into all this.

It's a crying shame that Siegfried had to go out this way. Red Berserker at least got to laugh maniacally and wreak some havoc, plus he's probably not out of the game yet.

So it occured to me that Siegfried is almost invulnerable thanks to his little blood bath, yet he was able to rip his heart with his bare hands through his invulnerable skin. Which begs the question; how fucking strong is he?

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash.

He was able to kill an enormous dragon all on his own. So...very.

Rank is B+

Not that it matters since Siegfried digging out heart is probably him not having to follow Armor of Fafnir's rule.

[up][up][up][up]It think it's much better (and funnier) to think that Siegfried ragequit the war once he realized this was the kind of bullshit he would be dealing with until his Master actually managed to get him killed. Dude just was such a nice guy that he helped someone else while he was at it, too.

So how much did the show cut out from the novels exactly?

To be honest, I only read the early parts of the novels and that only several years ago, so I don't know all the parts they change but off the top of my head I can tell you this much.

hey downplayed Astolfo being a genuine hero to play up the silly trap angle, they cut down on Chiron's motivations and they didn't explain that Jeanne is possessing a human or the rather amusing scene where she just tells everyone she needs to leave the country for a bit and everyone just blindly accepts it because of Jeanne's intense charisma. They had Siegfried introduce himself to Karna for some reason, they didn't explain how Armor of Fafnir works, they showed Achilles seemingly dodging Siegfried's attacks rather than having them bounce off, which undermines Chiron being able to hurt him with no problem. Jeanne wasn't there to see Siegfried die, but people think that's probably an okay change since it gives her some reason to care about Sieg.

The fights have also been a lot shorter. Oh, and they got Astolfo's Trap of Argalia NP slightly wrong. Getting hit by his lance directly causes the lower legs to dematerialize, he doesn't need to actually hit the leg to do it.

There's been more cut or altered than that but that's why I noticed myself or remember people talking about.

Edit: Oh, and they missed dropping Spartacus' ever present manic grin when Vlad revealed he planned to enslave him.

Isn't Chiron able to hit Achilles's weak spots because he was his teacher and thus knew his weakness?

Achilles invulnerability is negated by dinvinity, which Chiron possesses.

Ya know its sad hearing a Servant talk about his/her wish for the Grail knowing that they can't actually get a wish.

Wait does that count as a spoiler? I'll tag it anyway just to be sure.

Achilles can't be damaged by anyone lacking divinity. You need at least as much as him (C) to do full damage or to be using a god made weapon.

They can get a wish. They're just not supposed to if the ritual goes according to plan.

I know but its still sad regardless.

Like they are so genuine about it & their reasons make tragic sense so its pretty sad that there all getting the wool pulled over their eyes.

@ Arha Wow, Jeanne is possessing a person? That's a big thing to gloss over.

Yeah, for SOME REASON (spoilers) Jeanne couldn't manifest properly, so she had to borrow someone's body. In France, there was this very devout Catholic schoolgirl name Laeticia and Jeanne was like "Excuse me, I'm Jeanne d'Arc, can I please borrow your body for a bit? It's very important.' Laeticia was like 'Sure Jeanne, please do God's will' which is basically the only part of that that the anime remembered to include.

Then after that Jeanne was like 'Hi Laeticia's roommate, I'm going to hitchhike to Romania now. In the middle of the night. By myself' and the roommate said 'Sure, Laeticia, please have a safe trip' because everything Jeanne says sounds completely reasonable to everyone thanks to her charisma. Or maybe it was her Revelations skill. I forget which. It was pretty funny.

Oh yeah, and Laeticia is physically and mentally identical to Jeanne, more or less. Basically like if Jeanne had been a normal schoolgirl.

Yeah, the whole thing with Jeanne and Laeticia is pretty hilarious. They also skipped one of the best parts of the novels - Jeanne sheer glee at being able to read. And do homework.

Wow that is hilarious.

Especially how the girl has an exact appearance & temperament with Jeanne.

Talk about a fucking coincidence.

[up] Huh was Jeanne illiterate historically?

Jeanne is also the correct name right?

One of Jeanne's favorite things to do in FGO is rolling around in hay, it's pretty funny and adorable.

She's a good girl

Her being more or less handed the torch directly from Siegfried is probably a better change to have a reason for her to give a shit about our future Sieg

Surprised to not see more exclamation about Chiron's skills and Clairvoyance

Clairvoyance is pretty basic for an Archer, really. More interesting is that he has EotM true and false on top of it. He'd be pretty tough if he had a better NP.

Damn. The manga explained Jeanne possessing Laeticia but didn't include the funny parts.

The Clarivoyance is still noteworthy in that he's good enough to have x ray vision and precognition to an extant

Chiron is one of those characters that sounds really good on paper and should be on Scathath level of skill but in story is not that strong.

Even Sagittarius snipe would be good if it was stronger

Yeah, people used to really hype him up by looking at this skills only to find out that he's pretty good but far from amazing.

Oh hey, Martha cameo in the Apo manga.
