Landspeeder

Ohm-Mi wasted no time in hooking a leg over the side and hopping in the passenger seat. Ordinarily, he would object to not being behind the driver's seat of a vehicle but he figured that he'd hold his tongue, given the fact that he was just grateful for having found allies and been rescued from Imperial recapture. That and the fact that he quite liked their ride out of here. Shooting her a wink, Ohm-Mi climbed aboard.

"I always had a thing for dames who can pilot a craft. Name's Ohm-Mi Bonga, Rebel pilot," Ohm-Mi said confidently, trying to lay the charm on the Zabrak. "My ship was shot down and I just escaped from that shack that those stupid Imps call a prison. Where are we headed by the way?"

"Over there, then south." Kodra said, and swerved over to the human who had sent the message at full speed, slowing down to give him a chance to jump on before swerving back out of the stormtrooper-heavy area.

"Get ready to take over, pilot, I'll tell you when," she said, taking a shoto out of her belt and getting ready to activate it.

Aboard Gozanti

Lieutenant Gresh appeared again behind Vala Myn, even in the cockpit, just as the Gozanti was landing. "You shall be accompanying us for this mission, Flight Lieutenant. I've seen your files, you know," he said in a knowing voice. "We could use some of your skills out there. I believe you can help us with some issues involving vehicles and security systems."

With, he walked back to the loading bsy, where his men waited. "Up and at 'em," he said enthusiastically and rather disturbingly, considering the menacing growl his voice had been before. "We're civilians now, men, so just call me Errom. Remember, we're all just Coruscanti tourists, so put on a friendly smile!" It was almost laughable listening to him act, right until he turnes back to Vala Myn and growled, "Blowing cover is extremely inadvisable under any circumstance." Then he waved to his men. "Off we go!"

Daggiva Streets

Fardiss leaned over, careful not to fall off the landspeeder, and held a hand out as they passed the rebel who had helped them. "C'mon!" He yelled. "Let's blow this joint!"

Commander Drull cursed as he saw the landspeeder. Can't let them get away. He sighed - here we go - said, "stay put, Jakob," and then jumped out of the alley, his personal shield up and rotary cannon rotating. He couldn't let them escape. He at least needed to stall him.

Aboard the Gozanti, Daggiva Outskirts

The Flight Lieutenant nearly jumped out of her skin when Gresh appeared behind her again - she didn't like the way he did that, "Yes, sir." She nodded with a grimace as she brought the craft down to the surface and feelings perhaps a little worried about what he'd seen in her files. Regardless, she finished landing the cruiser and shut off the systems one by one as the commander treated his men to a bizarre enthusiasm, "I think I like that worse than the growling..." She muttered to herself as she carefully exited the cockpit, making note of their apparent cover story - she didn't think Lt. Gresh looked like an average Coruscanti tourist but kept that to herself. Vala found it almost reassuring when he turned to her with the usual growl, "Of course, Errom..." She smiled, certainly more genuinely than the others and trying to think of a good reason Coruscanti citizens would want to visit Daggiva for recreation. Myn gave up and followed the Storm Commandos out of the cruiser, trying to relax and taking in their surroundings carefully.

Daggiva Streets

Commander Drull would become aware of a humming sound from the opposite direction of the landspeeder; the drone of repulsers, but far too dark and bassy. Particularly for the thin machine that emitted it, as a space-black speeder bike rushed past him from an alley, its driver's red cloak flapping wildly in the airstream. Covered in plate armor, gleaming black in the afternoon sun, the large figure was anonymous, but what he drew from his belt made it unmistakable that this was a dreaded Sith Inquisitor.

Like a Trandoshan's hunting beast, Hasdrubal had the scent of the Force. The eerie stagnancy of the Light Side was radiating from that land speeder, seeming to reach out and suck the energy and vibrance out of everything it touched. His left hand on the controls, Hasdrubal thumbed the activation stud on his lightsaber. A ray of sunlight pierced the miserable fog being created in the Force, the yellow blade shot out from its ornate hilt alongside a noise that was almost a sustained note sung by a temple choir.

He was easily gaining on his prey as it slowed to pick up another passenger.

Mira Syn's Office
Watcher Twelve nodded. "Yes, admiral." She shut down the holocall with a crisp salute - something only her position in Intelligence allowed her to do. She rolled her eyes. Here the admiral was, telling her what her job was, already given to her by Intelligence. She sighed, standing up.

Walking out of her office, she nodded to her secretary. An unassuming woman who looked fresh out of being an intern. Mira closed her office door and locked it, looking at her. "I'll be going to inspect the mining equipment personally."

Her secretary looked up from the paperwork she was doing. "Should I tell them to expect you?"

Mira gave her a blank look. "Of course. We never do surprise inspections in here."

Her secretary nodded, and made the call as Mira walked out.

Shortly thereafter, she sat in the car to the sound of gunshots and apparently a riot - was that an Inquisitor? Things just got more interesting. Her driver glanced uncertainly back at her. She shook her head. "Keep going. I want to watch this..."

Landspeeder

Sebastian watched as the landspeeder raced towards him. The vehicle slowed as it drew near, and the informant- Fardiss, if he remembered correctly- held out a hand as they started to pass them.

Technically, the mercenary supposed that he could go for a slow and safe approach to getting on the landspeeder... but when had that ever been his thing?

Taking a running jump, he leaped, slamming into the backseat of the landspeeder with a thud. "Thanks for the save, but get the hell out of here!"

Taking aim with his Vambrace, he fired, hurling blaster bolt after blaster bolt at the Sith's vehicle, instead of the Zabrak himself. He doubted that the Inquisitor would let the bolts hit him, but he might be able to take out his vehicle- and in any case, it would cause the Inquisitor to either have to dodge, or deflect his shots.

Either one would slow him down, or at the very least stop him from moving as fast.

Landspeder

"You got it sweet cheeks!" Ohm-Mi called out as he took over the landspeeder's controls. His years of piloting made the driving the speeder come natrual to him and he sped away from the Inquisitor behind them. He intended to pick up Kodra if she hopped out but until then, losing their pursuer was more important. Ohm-Mi flipped an offensive Cerean hand gesture towards the Imperial stooge chasing them and gunned the landspeeder forward, taking a complicated route of narrow alleyways and sharp turns that only a skilled pilot would be able to match.

A barrage of lasers rained around the speeder bike as Hasdrubal gave pursuit, easily following the larger vehicle attempting to dodge and weave through narrow side-streets. His saber was ready to deflect any shots that managed to find him but the shooter was clearly aiming for his vehicle instead. A bolt struck one of the Sith rune-inscribed front plates, burning a hole right through "Peace is a Lie."

There is only passion. Hasdrubal cultivated his anger, pointing the lightsaber at his attacker. The Force holding the steering controls, his left hand moved to the weapons', activating the twin light blaster cannons along either side of the bike. Sebastian's salvo was answered by a hail of blaster fire that ripped through the street, drawing screams from bystanders trying to duck out of the way. But as soon as it began it stopped, and the Sith's bike would seem to have disappeared.

Its distinctive thundering repulsors could still be heard, however, echoing through the buildings on either side of the landspeeder.

"I look like a clown in this outfit," mumbled the one called Fetch by Lieutenant Gresh, except now he was going by Russi. He looked the youngest of the group, with a smooth, unscarred face and bright red hair.

"I don't like this as much as you do," said Sin, or rather Zarron. He had long black hair, a bit stringy. Long hair was  a rarity among soldiers, but apparently commandos had some leeway. "But cover is cover, regardless of how poor it is. We work with what we got. Besides, if we're lucky, we'll shoot someone."

"And that would just cheer you right up, wouldn't it, lads," said Gresh/Errom. "Let's cut the chatter for now."

The one called Garrote, or Ben for now, grunted in a noncommittal manner. His head was shaved, and one of his eyes was clearly cybernetic. He scanned the horizon as if expecting someone or something to appear.

Then he perked up. Silently he pointed off to the city, then made a 'listen' gesture, one hand cupped to his ear. "I hear it too," Gresh/Errom said. "Blaster fire. Heavy. And we're just the most curious Coruscanti, ain't we, boys?"

They headed off in the direction of the fire, everyone keenly aware of the hidden blasters on their persons. With any luck, they'd be in use soon.

Daggiva Streets

Commander Drull slowed his rotary cannon as he became aware of a deep, bass thrum, and then he caught sight of the speeder, and, more importantly, saw who was on it. A Jedi...? No. The opposite. An Inquisitor. Even Jakob, injured as he was, stood up at the sight.

"Impossible..." Drull muttered. He had only heard of them before. Still, judging by how he was going after the rebels, he couldn't be anyone else. What was one doing here? He hefted his rotary cannon again, but the rebels were gone, zooming through the numerous alleys of Daggiva.

"Sir?" A voice suddenly blared through his comms. "We lost sight of Fardiss. We're returning now." His two other men.

"There's an Inquisitor here and we need to provide backup," he said bluntly. He did not want to be seen lacking with someone like that around. He himself left the alley and began running through the alleys. He couldn't kerp up with a speeder, but with any luck he could catch them doubling back or something.

"Oh, damn," Fardiss breathed. "That's an Inquisitor! We're royally screwed, guys! Step on it!" He said to the pilot.

Just like Drull, he had only heard of them, never seen one. He pulled out his LL-30, ready to fire when the Inquisitor showed themselves again.

Landspeeder

"Don't worry about that chump!" Ohm-Mi said confidently, his blustering tone not betraying how he was starting to feel a little fear. Nevertheless, the daredevil at the heart of who he was refused to let that fear take a hold of him and he began to believe his own words.

"Some guys back at base ran into a bunch of Inquisitors. Apparently, four of the best ones have already been killed so this guy's probably just some leftover scrap the Empire hasn't thrown away yet!" Ohm-Mi reassured the Rebels in the landspeeder while heading towards a path that was more on the outskirts of the city, with brambles, rocks and plantlife. It was the kind of terrain that favored a heavy landspeeder that could ram through such obstacles but would prove a bit more troublesome for a sleek speeder-bike such as the Inquisitor's.

"Now!" Kodra said, and jumped up, lighting up the shotto in her hand in mid-air, before managing to land in the back of the landspeeder.

She deflected any bolts that came their way and stared at the sith as he approached. An impromptu rescue mission was about to become much more.

"Lose the tail and get us south, Bonga, I'll take over again when we've made it."

Myn smirked as the red-haired Fetch and long-haired Sin - or 'Russi' and 'Zarron', rather - remarked on their garish outfits. She couldn't say she disagreed as it certainly seemed that Coruscanti fashion sense was drastically, horribly different from the preferences of those in Corellia's Blue Sector. The pilot stuck a little closer to them than 'Errom' or the quiet 'Ben' as she followed towards the city proper, seeing as they were little more like the peers she was used to dealing with. Vala didn't need Garrote's hint to hear the distant blaster fire - her keen ears couldn't miss it or the landspeeder engines' roar, "Landspeeders - some kind of chase?" The Flight Lieutenant offered to the others, now practically jogging ahead of them and glad she had her blaster on this mission.

Val also thought she could hear something odd as she drew closer to the city streets - like the blaster fire was being deflected by a shield or... She couldn't put her finger on it. Regardless, the howl of the landspeeders wasn't far off now. The sounds of straining engines reminded of her days racing swoop bikes for her gang, one of the few aspects she enjoyed of that life. Finally she peeked around a street corner and saw the bikes speeding her way, still a good distance off, "If this is a normal afternoon here, I can see why tourists like it after all..." She smirked to herself but then caught a flash of something strange, "Are those...?"

Having taken a parallel route to avoid the enemy's blaster, Hasdrubal found what he was looking for in those streets - a sloped roof. And just in time, as the city's edge was giving way to open terrain. Sheathing his lightsaber, he increased the lift of the bike's coils, taking him upwards and atop the roof. From there he heaved the throttle, using the slope as a ramp to make the bike leap into the air.

Sailing over his quarry, the occupants of the landspeeder would be blasted and deafened by the amplified Verpine asteroid mining-grade repulsorlifts he had custom installed on his bike, and Hasdrubal would use this to his advantage as he had many times before. In midair he rotated his speeder so when it landed, briefly tapping the ground, it was more or less directly in front of and facing them. Only now did Hasdrubal really see his true target, the female Zabrak holding a short lightsaber, and he was practically salivating to get at her. He fired his twin blaster cannons once more, trying to score a good hit on the oncoming landspeeder's power generator in the front rather than kill the passengers within. The others were basically collateral, but it would be a shame to kill the Jedi, at least now and from this distance.

"Kriff!" Ohm-Mi swore as the Inquisitor maneuvered his craft expertly in front of theirs. The Cerean would be impressed by the Darksider's skill if he weren't currently trying to kill them all.

"Hold on to your asses people! It's going to get bumpy! Ohm-Mi shouted, narrowly serving out of the way of the blasterfire and gunning the landspeeder towards a patch of bramble plants.

Kodra cringed at the noise and tried to steady herself as the landspeeder swerved. There is no emotion. There is peace, she thought as she tried to concentrate. She was getting into the groove of deflecting shots with one hand and occasionally steadying herself with the other.

She watched the Sith's expression carefully, trying to keep her inner peace in the face of his sharp, predatorial gaze.

There is peace.

She waited until the landspeeder had stabilized, then took her other shoto out of her belt carefully. Kodra had yet to master the art of dual wielding—other skills had been prioritized—but she did not need to wield the shoto with her hand at this moment.

She activated it and threw it at the sith's bike, controlling its trajectory wit the force. The weapon spun quickly as she hoped to drill a quick hole through the sith's mount before having it fly back into her grip.

Hasdrubal screamed in anger as the thrown lightsaber tore through the front of his bike before returning to its owner. The front end suddenly dropped, throwing Hasdrubal forward against his controls hard. The rear repulsors still functioned, however, and the bike bucked forward, careening at deadly speed just past the landspeeder and into a nearby structure. Dust and rubble went everywhere.

Kodra cringed at the brutality of the crash and muttered "sorry" before looking around for any stormtroopers shooting at them whose bolts she might reflect.

A sharp eye may have noticed the bolts very rarely hit their sources, instead landing at their feet.

The first thing that Sebastian noticed was that their Cerean driver was crazy. Utterly nuts.

He was also a pretty damn good driver, which was most likely the only reason they hadn’t become a smoking wreck.

The smoking hole in the speederbike was heartening- and suddenly it became a lot less heartening when the Inquisitor chasing them fired a hail of deadly blaster bolts. The armored mercenary threw himself in front of the Rebel informant, raising a hand to protect his face. A blaster bolt hit his arm, but his armor stopped any permanent damage from occurring- and then suddenly the assault had stopped, and Fardiss was yelling for the pilot to step it up.

And suddenly his eyes widened as the Zabrak jumped up and lit up a freaking lightsaber, deflecting a couple of blaster bolts as she did so. Sebastian had fired a few shots at the Inquisitor as he suddenly swerved into their path, but none of them had hit- and suddenly the Landspeeder was swerving into a patch of brambles.

The female Zabrak drew another lightsaber and ignited it. Sebastian hadn’t spoken throughout any of this- he had been focused on shooting at the Sith. Only now did he gasp in shock. Wielding a lightsaber was one thing- wielding another was shocking.

And then she was hurling it into the bike and the Sith was slamming into a nearby structure with a boom.

“Floor it,” he snarled. “Inquisitors don’t stay dead for long.”

Landspeeder

"Way ahead of you my man!" Ohm-Mi called out as he hit the accelerator. It was a good thing they seemed to have a decent amount of fuel left or this would have ended very badly very fast. Or, rather, more bad than it already was - an Inquisitor on the planet would not make things easy, particularly not after what they had just done to this one's bike. He'd heard stories of the Rebels back on Chopper Base who had run in with those types before - Inquisitors tended to hold grudges.

However, Chopper Base was not the only Rebel base that was on the Cerean thrill seeker's mind at the moment. While locked up on the Dragros prison reserved for Rebel prisoners of war, Ohm-Mi had made friends with other Rebels. Together, some of them had stolen some blasters from guards and had escaped. Many of them had been shot and Ohm-Mi wasn't sure if anybody but him had made it out but he did remember a crucial component of the plan. They were all supposed to rendezvous at the Rebel/smuggler stronghold on the planet. Fortunately, Ohm-Mi still remembered the coordinates so it was there that he raced the landspeeder towards.

Kodra held on carefully, shutting down one shoto and using the other to reflect away the odd blaster bolt sent their way, glad that the landspeeder had stabilized a little.

Sebastian took advantage of the lull in combat to reload his wrist-blaster. "Frankly, I wouldn't trivialize the force-wielder," he quipped. "I don't think I'd be able to stop her from strangling you. On the plus side, I'm sure I'll learn an ancient Jedi technique for strangling unwanted suitors.

He glanced at Fardiss. "You alright?" He asked the informant, taking off his helmet. "Come to think of it, do you have a plan? I've kept my rebel leanings on the down-low for a while. I get the distinct feeling that screaming 'For the Rebellion!' and charging a squad of stormtroopers with a vibro-maul might attract some attention," he said dryly, "and at the moment, I have some valuable information on me.

"Combine that with your notoriety," he continued, "the fact that we just delayed a Sith inquisitor, and the whole 'traveling with a Jedi' thing," he said with a nod at Kodra, "and I think we're going to need a plan."
