A lot of adaptations seem to prefer not using her bad luck powers too.

The exception being the recent cartoon.

Worth noting that Silver and Black was said to be getting split into two films about each of the characters individually, so it remains to be seen whether those will use any elements from this script or have completely unrelated identities.

Are those still happening? It's been awhile since we've heard anything.

Apparently, they shot the whole thing down and it's going to be a TV show.

I'm not sure how reliable they're, but they were the first leak some pics from the Morbius trailer, including the pic with the murderer Spider-Man graffiti.

I read that script a while back, the main thing that I remember is Felicia's introduction scene having her do a slide under a door like Catwoman in Arkham City.

Gina Prince-Bythewood on the Delayed Silver & Black Movie

In an interview with Games Radar, GPB discussed the status of the film saying, “My honest answer is I don’t know, … I really love those characters, I loved having them together. I thought, what we came up with was a really good, really organic way to have the two together. That world is changing so much because of the success of the Spider-Man films.”

She added, “There’s a question of, ‘Can you really have these films with Spider-Man not in them? Should he at least have some sort of part in them?’ That’s always the question. I’ve taken two years off of that for [The Old Guard] so once this gets out into the world, I hope it’s a success, and then I’ll certainly go back and start talking with them again.”

If your cinematic universe is going to live or die on one character being in every single movie, then you might as well hang up the towel and call it a day. I don't care if you're trying to build a cinematic universe off of one superhero's character list on Wikipedia; that's just not reasonable.

Do you think the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be half the global phenomenon it is today if every movie, every single one, was under mandate that Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man must appear and have an important role in it somewhere?

Thor? Tony needs to show up and defeat the Destroyer armor.

Guardians of the Galaxy? Tony needs to be testing a space suit when he happens to get wrapped up in the battle for Xandar.

Dr. Strange? Tony needs to crash the mirror reality in the showdown with Kaecilius.

"These movies DO NOT get made unless Tony is in them, and these movies consequently have to happen on RDJ's schedule, period." What do you think the MCU would have become under those constraints?

The issue when, while pretty much every other character in the MCU is basically the protagonist of their own show, with the main character, supporting cast and villains, while here they basically were trying to make several shows by basically disassembling one because they can't use the star and his friends.

Wake me up at your own risk.

Yes. And that can be done if you're willing to approach each of those characters like you're building up a main character rather than fleshing out a supporting one.

The comics do this all the time. There's no character that cannot be reinvented as a central protagonist. It just takes a bit of imagination.

But if you refuse to commit to that design philosophy, your sandbox is doomed before it can even make its way through the starting gate.

Of note: Gina Prince-Bythewood is directing a non-Marvel superhero film, The Old Guard, which is releasing on Netflix later this week.
