Yep, glad I didn't buy that game either. I mean, I already wasn't enthused about it given its somewhat lackluster looking gameplay, but this just cinched it.

I guess we're going to see if No Such Thing as Bad Publicity really holds true in every situation. I'd be somewhat disgusted if this really does somehow boost sales of the game.

Like if you're going to do an AMA on a site, isn't it standard to do some background check on the site first?

That alone lets you know this was all intentional and paints THQ Nordic as tremendous assholes.

I guess they really had to do it to all those devs they bought.

Though considering how they've been buying things at random in order to throw shit at the wall and see what sticks, I didn't count on them lasting long anyway.

They're trying to drag the gamer negative stereotype back kicking and screaming are they? Or maybe one designer suggested this and the board, being idiotic not-in-the-geek-culture bunch didn't bother doing due dilligence.

They heard 8chan, thought it was 4chan, or assumed it was a reddit board? I'm being ridiculously generous, I know, but that MAY be the best outcome.

A bit about the culprits here.

This comes after Koch media's decision to get the Metro Exodus Epic Store deal out of their own. I can see the head honchos of the parent THQ Nordic getting rid of the hands-off strategy cracking down on this stuff in the future, and firing certain people.

Which is an issue if subsidiaries with PR access use the same names as the parent entities.

From my understanding it was Deep Silver who made the decision independently from Koch Media themselves (Who claimed they knew nothing of it).

You're right, just double checked and the name Deep Silver's the one who signed it. Regardless, I think the larger picture of these subsidaries having, for lack of better words, "no regard for authority and sister companies' public relations" thanks to Nordic's hand-off approach still remains. I think we can expect a restructuring soon with these recent events. Hope that 8chan ride was worth losing the job fellas.

Ok look 8chan is... controversial for a lot of reasons (some of which we are not allowed to talk about). But putting all of that aside and looking at it from an objective viewpoint. this was still a dumb move. 8chan is basically an anarchist state meaning that for every legit question you’ll get flooded by 100 troll questions. Because of this, 8chan is not a good site to host an AMA. Additionally, I can’t believe that THQ Nordic didn’t expect to be placed in the crosshairs of basically every gaming media site in existence by doing this. I’m not even mad I actually find the whole thing kind of hilarious.
