"Right, yeah, I'll get ready and go."

Assuming nothing else of importance is said, Hyouta departs for the Hangar Bay.

Hangar Bay

In whatever gear is necessary for the Endurance Shuttle, Hyouta is here and prepared to take it once the others arrive. He seems pretty excited.

Xander did a double take at that last bit of information. "Hold on, bioweapons? Is that just something you threw out there or are we actually entertaining the possibility of bioweapons on that wreck?" Taking the silence as a response, he shook his head. "I don't care if by some miracle environmental is still working on that thing; my helmet is staying on. And the moment someone turns blue or starts breaking out in horrifying skin lesions, I am out," he muttered darkly. He turned and walked out of the CIC, on his way to his quarters to prepare for what was sure to be a thoroughly unpleasant trip.

Xander's Quarters

He had continued muttering curses and imprecations under his breath the entire way back to his quarters, and he was still in the midst of coming up with new, evermore-creative epithets to describe his displeasure at his current situation.

"Sign on with the Benjamin. It'll be a nice, quiet posting for a couple years until you can finally get that nice cushy position groundside." He unlocked his personal footlocker to take out the security case that contained his personal sidearm and ammunition, unlocking that in turn and performing a brief inspection on the weapon. "And now here I am about to board a pile of junk that is in its current junked state due to who knows what. Knew I should have stayed with that asteroid mining gig for a few more months." While the chances of any crew still being alive on that ship were low, he'd prefer not to take chances, either with surviving trigger-happy Martian crew or whatever group that attacked the ship.

Strapping on his holster with a final curse, he resecured his belongings and exited the room, heading for the shuttle bay.

Oh, she was going ghost ship diving. Sure Yaqiratu probably could have just told the rest of the crew the ship was salvage and take what you want, argue over who did the most work, and divide up loot accordingly, and don't break anything unless you have too from the bridge and waved them off, but then she'd just be staring at the Johnson file for the rest of the day and marveling, not in the good way.
Besides, it got more interesting if any of the crew were still on board. Plus the questions of who owned the ship, who chartered it, how had it come to be here, why were they able to get so close to Europa, and when was it supposed to arrive and to who... Idle speculation, except for the issue that it was freakin Europa.
If one of techies—Shimabukuro?—could get any sort of power going and the main computer systems weren't too banged up, Yaqiratu would happily pry through the ships log and registry. The man had already left, once again saying no more than the bare minimum. It would make for an easy trek, as she fully intended to be right behind him on the ship.

But first, "Barrens," Yaqiratu alerted the would-be martyr, "I don't suppose you can tell if these Rad levels are acceptable, considering Belter, Earther, or Martian?"
Natalie's question had yet to be answered and while Yaqiratu might have found some use to glowing in the dark, she really wasn't comfortable to be bedridden coughing up a thyroid, because she missed the obvious. At Barrens's look, she smiled at him, with considerably more effort than last time. "You'd certainly be helping people."

Captain Levine brought up the spectrometer, it showed no rad levels beyond what was normal for being around Jupiter. "This is what has me worried, if the reactor is down, that means something on board shut it down without breaching it."

The message was simple, something had gotten on board, hence the concern for bioweapons. "Another alternative is that it was boarded, but why board it and leave it drifting?"

Natalie nodded, agreeing with Captain Levine's conclusions. She thought for a moment. "A trap?"

Levine turned white, a impressive feat really, "We'll keep the Drives ready to burn out, if anything is hiding near any asteroids or even on any of the moons. We can't stay."

"Anything that can take out a Martian ship of any kind is a big deal."

"The radiation levels are acceptable," he answered dryly. "But if we're truly concerned about bio-weapons, I'd recommend hazard or environmental suits. At the very least I'll bring my kit along, and a short quarantine when we get back would also be a good idea." He suggested.

He glanced at Artyom. "I recommend that we- or at the very least, Artyom- bring along some weaponry. I can think of plenty of possible explanations why the ship is abandoned, and very few of them are pleasant. I, personally, would feel better armed- and I'd feel even better knowing someone with combat training was. It's likely that we'll encounter people or... other things... after all," he reasoned.

"If it's a trap, going in armed would be a boon. If it's an animalistic bioweapon- yes, such things do exist, albeit not like in the movies- killing it or knocking it out would be a priority. And although it's already been mentioned, a chance encounter with panicked crew members could escalate very quickly," he pointed out. The biologist spoke with authority - he was used to this kind of thing.
