Oh! Miss Langley. Ah, yes, she did send us a letter over this past week explaining that she gave up the job to focus on becoming a full time battler. I'll admit, I'm quite shocked; I didn't think it'd be possible after the accident her mother had. She's been replaced as well; Dave has taken up her mantle. He's decently capable as well, but like Miss Madeline, he's only recently taken up the mantle.

No shit. I didn't think she'd have just up and done that. But, not surprising at all, considering how much of a confidence boost having her mother tag along with us seemed to have been. Lonnie trails back to earlier points about the Mayor.

And as for the rebuild efforts...we aren't getting money from the Guild, honestly. Far as we know, they're sending a bunch of mons in to find a benefactor. Hope that goes well...

That's what everyone else is up to. Hoping they succeed there...

Right. You can certainly talk to the Mayor right now, or maybe come back when this place isn't hectic. It's up to the two of you.

Well, actually, the two of us were gonna head up to her parents' place and check in with them. I think I'd prefer talking to him when he isn't busy trying to field all of the mons, you know?

(I freeze and find myself wincing. That's a name I haven't heard in a while, and it still leaves a very sour taste in my mouth when I do hear about him.)

Well, my dad might be heres somewheres since he's on the town council, so we might could find 'em around here. (Marsha says. She turns back to Lonnie.) Are they havin' a meetin' right now?

Why, indeed they are having a meeting right now. They should be letting out soon; I can find Angelo and let him know once they wrap up here if that's fine with you. Can't imagine Phyllis would be too far away.

After a brief moment of deliberation I nod. Pretty sure I haven't seen her parents in about a month by this point.

Sure, just send them our way when they let out.

(She wasn't wrong. They know about him. I told them most of what I gathered from our meeting.) Yeah. She told me that Hoard... is no longer there. As in it's gone and he's to blame. And apparently, he convinced the town nearby that she did it.

Royal scratched his head as he recalled the rundown he was given.

"Damn, that place... It's just gone now? Can't seem to catch a break, heard it wasn't in a very good state last y'all saw it" he commented. "That Serris guy always sounded like a snake t- like a real, uh, slimeball."

Royal buries his face further in his overcoat's collar.

"And he shifts the blame on someone else? Damn, not even this world is free of scumbags like that. But hey, tricksters like that usually don't put up much a fight once they're cornered and have no cards left up their sleeves."

On The Path To Bedsheets

Me and my "partner" Maxwell have found another place to scam the innocent people of this world. I honestly don’t know why we are still a team. A-are you sure this is a good idea? I whisper to him.

   Yep, because I found another lookalike!    (he pulls out a seed)    Introducing the Revisor Seed!    He responded.

W-what does it do? I nervously asked.

   Well, it only works when a Pokémon faints, like the seed it’s named after. When they faint, they get revived, but then faint again in laughter immediately afterwards! Isn't that great?!    Maxwell said laughing evilly. Laughing uncontrollably until you die?! That doesn't sound like a way I want to go out.

That's interesting, I guess, but why did we set up shop here? I asked. The Revisor Seed did interest me, maybe I can use them to my advantage. Maxwell has a weird affiliation with seeds, he carried many different kinds of seeds, from Doom Seeds to Vile Seeds and even some Awakening Seeds for emergency use.

   I heard this place is on the path to a place called Bedsheets, and a group of adventurers are coming this way! A perfect scamming opportunity of I say so myself!    Maxwell said evilly. Adventurers?! Maybe I can free myself from this fiend and make some real friends, though my occasional outbursts may get in the way of that.

O-ok then, I guess. I said in response.

   Look someone's coming!    Maxwell said, hiding me from sight.    What can I get you, my good man?   

I'll take... this! The Pokémon said pointing at a bag. Wait... bag? That's my bag filled with Gummis!

What?! It was on the counter, wasn’t it? As soon as I pay the Poké, it’s mine! The Pokémon (it was a Seismitoad) said Wait your turn, kid! Kid?! NOW he's going to get it!

Ok, JERK, nobody calls me a kid and gets away with it! I said to him.

Looks like I struck a nerve! Bring it on ladybug! I can swat you down in my sleep!

I would advise you    to RUN!    And I just sorta checked out, I went on another outburst. Why do I do that?! When I came back to my senses, I noticed a ton of rock chunks on the floor.

   Great job, USELESS, you scared off another customer! You know what that means...    Maxwell said to me.    INTO THE ISOLATION ROOM WITH YOU!   

Ok, g-g-goodbye! I said tearing up. Isolation is my greatest fear, as I have been alone for quite some time in this world, maybe a year or two or three. Sense I was alone with nobody to control my stress with, I have constant outbursts, snapping at things that aren’t big deals. And these outbursts are extremely violent, often involving me pelting whatever angered me with Geo Pebbles or Iron Spikes using my telekinesis.

A few minutes later

   Alright, you can come out now.    Maxwell said to me.

I laugh. BODY PRESS! I leap out of the isolation room and land on Maxwell's mobile hut.

   MY HUT! Alright then, you wanna play? LET'S PLAY!    He rushed me while emanating pink energy, but I simply teleported out of the way, causing him to ram into a wooden plank.

Ha ha, very funny. I said before unleashing a loud noise via flapping my wings.

Maxwell regained composure and swung at me with his tail. I simply Body Pressed him.

   So... you want to leave me? The only person that has ever talked to you in this world?    Maxwell said, trying to guilt trip me.

It kinda worked.

No! Yes! Maybe?! Probably! I CAN'T DECIDE! A burst of psychic energy came out of me, causing my greatest weapon, a Golden Fossil, to hit Maxwell in the head, knocking him out. Wait, did I do that?! OH NO! I said, having a mini panic attack. I snagged most of his supplies, and used my psychic energy to find some of the adventures he was talking about. I found some! I went to their direction.

O-Oh...oh man... (I feel sick to my stomach. I know McNab said that Hoard wasn't doing too hot, but I didn't know it was to the point that it was GONE. And I didn't hear about Serris making himself look like the hero to a nearby town, either. Poor Ripley.)

...Um, which town did Serris go to? Did Ripley say? (Delilah asks.)

(I hear what sounds like distant shouting up ahead, but I don't feel sure if I should say anything about that yet.)

Alright! (Marsha says, having a seat in the lobby.)

(The Marduo only has to wait a few minutes before a number of town council members begin to file out of a nearby hallway, including Marsha's father Angelo the Mantine. Angelo notices the Marduo and waves at them with one of his flippers.)

Oh, Marsha! Hello! It's wonderful to see you! (He calls.)

Heya, Pop! (Marsha says, walking over to him.)

"Wait. You said Hoard is gone due to Serris character?" Grigori mention of the fact snapped me from my thoughts, "Kind of like the kingdom I used to call home?"

After a few minutes of waiting the council members pour out of the meeting as expected. And among them is of course, Angelo. As I've said before it's certainly been a while since I've seen either of her parents. I carefully get up and hobble over to him (which would be the first hint for him to know about how our journey has been going) as Lonnie also makes his way over.

Angelo. How did things go? Are we ready to move forward?

It's certainly been a while, sir. How have you been? We've certainly been through a lot ourselves...if you couldn't tell already.

(I nodded when the Mawile spoke out. And suddenly, an Orbeetle approached us and asked if he should pair up with us. The guy's scared out of his mind, but I'm not exactly leader material. I looked at the rest of the group to see what they'll do.)

(Crap, what's Silversand going to look like when we get back there with Serris doing what he seems to do best? Namely lying to people? Is he going to dupe them, too?)

(Before I can keep dwelling on that, I'm startled when a Pokémon I don't initially recognize suddenly comes up to us. I quickly realize that he's an Orbeetle. I'm a immediately a bit taken aback by him immediately offering to join us, and then he spills out what he just went through to us before even giving us the chance to speak. Now I'm just confused. Not sure how to respond, I likewise look to the others to see what they think.)

So you ran away from a Thievul? (Delilah asks him, trying to make sure she is understanding what the Orbeetle is going on about. She sounds equally as puzzled as Grigori and I.)

I think we might be getting somewhere, yes! (Angelo tells Lonnie before turning his attention back to Marlon and Marsha.) And I can tell, yes! It's so good to have you back here. Phyllis and I are doing well. We're trying our best to get things put back together around here.

Ah, great! I look forward to speaking with him further this evening. I see you're have a bit of a reunion with your daughter, so they say, so I'll be heading back to my post for the moment. Do let me know when the mayor is available, yes?

I can tell that you've all been trying to get this place running as smoothly as possible again. Perchance, would we be able to speak to the mayor himself? While we're here taking a break from our adventures I'd imagine there'd be a way for us to help out, you know? Otherwise, when do you think we could head over to yours and Phyllis's place? There has been a good bit weighing on my mind that I've kinda wanted to talk to you about.

(Seems like another city is on the loose. Didn't Marlon go 'back' to Silversand?)

I note the Orbeetle, whom calls himself Dylan, asking to join our Ragtag Bunch of Misfits. I keep my mouths shut lest I endanger the group, since I'm not sure if this is some ploy of sorts.

Thanks a ton, Royal. I have a request: remember the Thievul I mentioned? His name is Maxwell, and the last time I saw him, he ran off to parts unknown, but he still might be after me, but I think we can take him on. I stole most of his supplies after I accidentally knocked him out, and he mostly just uses items if he actually fights stuff.
