The two rushed above deck. Michael, frenzied, sighs once he recognizes the ship.

Major, fire main guns. Then fire the hook. I'd like a word with Private Horowitz.

High grade cannonballs are fired toward the hull of the ship, followed behind by a hook, meant to hook on and bring the ship toward them.

I think if I had a heart it would have burst two times in the same moment when the ear popping sound of cannonballs exploding around the ship surprise the heck out of me

Looking around I notice the geysers falling before the boat is now shaking like crazy. I am holding on for dear life to the guard rail and as I do there is something I notice in the distance, though someone says it before I can guess what it is. "REALLY!?" I don't know if I was finding this awesom or frighting so I will just think it's both.

"AAAH!" [Cannons?! Why are there cannons! Who's firing on us?!]

[I get low and cover my head...my breathing is out of control...I don't wanna die, I don't wanna die...]

*two more portside cannons fire volleys that, too, miss the Wailord prince — the third one ends up jamming. While the crew nearby attempts to dislodge the blockage, one of the cannonballs from the prince's king's ship lands directly between the other two cannon, disabling them. This prompts the "Admiral" to let out a loud roar* GRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH... *which would easily be audible from the other ship. As the hook lands, the "Admiral" orders his mates*

Hold your fire, mates! Seems they're lookin' to parlay...

*the crew allows the hook to reel them in, before dislodging it at a reasonable distance — too far for either side to board each other (even swinging by rope), but not too far for the Ursaring "Admiral"'s booming voice to pierce through even the walls of the humanmons' ship*

What's the meanin' of this, ya hackit bampots! Didn't notice ye have a bogey on your aftside, I take it? *he draws his enormous spiked bat, and points it straight at the Wailord prince, asking* Those feral Wailords 'ave been known to punch an 'ole in ships like shootin' a cannonball through wood!

[...it's stopped. Oh, my god...I stand up and peer over the boat's railing, only to be greeted by an Ursaring's voice booming at us. He points his bat, points it at the Wailord, calls him a feral...]

"I, I THINK THERE'S BEEN SOME KINDA MISTAKE!"

"Admiral" Horowitz' Ship

*upon hearing Eliot's voice across the watery crevice, the the large Ursaring lets forth a booming retort* There's no question about it — just last week, one of my fleet got sent straight to drydock for allowin' an innocent Wailord to follow in a similar fashion! *which, strangely enough...did happen, though unbeknownst to even the "Admiral" himself, the crew had antagonized said feral*

Looking unamused, Michael responds, Private, I’m going to assume that you’ve forgotten about the Wailord bastard I was going to retrieve, and not that you’re attempting to murder a fellow heir to better your chances of the crown. Am I correct in my assumption, Horowitz?

(I felt the ship rocking due to the cannon fire. I maintained my ground as I sighed. Pirates. If they want a fight, they're getting it. I went outside to see an Ursaring captain that seems to run the show. I respond to them in a stern voice.) If it were feral, it would have sunk that pile of sticks you call a boat, or die trying, either or. Regardless, we're not looking for trouble.

Turning to Eliot and Grigori, Michael shakes his head. You two must understand. This “Captain” is an heir to the throne. Just like our friend.

"The bear with a bat!?" I shout while walking over to the others then start pointing to the ursuring. "Why!? He'd be better in a zombie apocolypse than in a kingdom if this is how he treats others."

My uneventful slumber was interrupted by the commotion. "Ah?!" I unintentionally roll off of my bed and hit the ground. "Oof." I go outside of our room (still inside the ship), and call out. "What the hell was that?!"

*murmurs fly across Horowitz' crew, a wide variety of accents and variations best summarized by these quotes*

That Wailord is a prince?

Looks kind of...dumb...

Even if he really isn't a feral, he's just like the one my buddy described...

*somewhat relieved to be vindicated by his own crew, albeit fully aware of what he's done, the massive Ursaring heaves his enormous spiked bat upwards, only to rest it upon his bulky shoulders. With a "tsk tsk" sort of look, he chides Michael* That's Admiral, first of all — Admiral Harry Horowitz, a.k.a. The Glorious Bear — and don't you forget it!

Second...if that is indeed a so-called son of the King... *he turns around slowly, revealing his full regalia — a purple cape emblazoned with the emblem of Slak Rock, various medals allegedly earned over the years, a proper jacket with a mix of regal and military trimmings...but no pants. Bears don't wear pants* ...he should at least be dressin' like one! It's quite dangerous to be posin' as a feral these days, especially with that Surge all the pro battlers are talkin' about. Note: "Surge" is an alt-name for "Viral Aggression".

*he then points his bat at Michael...mind you, they're quite a distance apart, and grins with confidence as he makes his final spiel* Lastly, you know as well as anyone that I, Glorious Bear Harry Horowitz, am the true heir to King Raleigh Roughskin's throne!

(I shake my head at that shameless display of egotism. I mean, he might have earned all his medals as far as I know, but he could have "borrowed" it from someone. I responded bluntly.) Why would some sort or admiral and royalty carry around a weapon hobos would most likely use?)

Dieter is a bit startled below deck. They decide to stay below deck for now, though.

Turning to Grigori, he exasperatedly says, Please, stay out of what you don’t know.

Then, to James, he says, Listen, my brother has a lot of bastards strewn across the land. Sadly, private here is one.

And lastly, he turned to Horowitz. Private, you should be aware that we are electing an heir, considering the circumstances.

That's Admiral — you should know full well the capabilities of our mighty fleet. *the "Admiral" haughtily states, arms crossed...and in so doing he nearly whacked his first mate off the ship with his bat — a good thing she knows when to duck* Me mates and I patrol these waters in the name of my father, the King. I wouldn't dream of impedin' your progress, and if you say that thing is a prince, then I suppose he's a prince.

*he then whispers to said first mate, a Sharpedo with an eyepatch and a striped blue shirt, asking* You be hearin' about a meetup? *to which she responds* Sir, I told you about it weeks ago...and you responded, and I quote, "yeah, yeah, now I have important business to attend to"... *...and then subsequently flexed and posed with his bat in front of the mirror, clearly not catching any of it*

*poorly attempting to hide his ignorance, he turns to Michael and shouts once more* The meetin', of course! Just so we're on the same page here, the meetin' is still at... *he trails off with unintelligible gibberish, secretly hoping that Michael will remind him*

"Considering that he just tried to kill us a few seconds ago I don't think he cares." I say to Michael.

I highly doubt that this ship was his target. *Tilly explains to James* Such a blatant attack against the king's brother for the sake of acquiring power would call into question his own legitimacy.

"So... let me get this straight... one of you is heir to some kind of throne? Look, I've seen sibling rivalry, but I doubt I have seen it go this far..."

Ship, Below Decks

"Pirates? Guess that explains the noise..."

"But... no idea. I'm just hoping not too many are like this. Maybe Tilly might know? She seems to know a fair bit about this royals stuff."

"Maybe they just missed." I say to Tilly before turning to Wrench. "I've seen this happen before. Usually it doesn't end well for guys like him."

"Yeah... I hope it goes that way..."

Dana steps out onto the top deck, wanting to know what all the noise was.
