Well, considering how quickly series are launched and shot down in the Jump lately, having a quick pacing in the early chaps is probably a smart move.
That is true.
Though I do hope Tsukasa doesn't bite the dust somehow.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, I'm having trouble seeing how they'd build guns without the ability to melt and cast iron. Gunpowder is easy to produce compared to building a blast furnace.
It's getting interesting. Tsukasa is, unfortunately for our heroes, not stupid. And as said, gunpowder isn't gonna help them much if they don't have guns.
Color page for next chapter, so I guess it had a good start.
For the record, the importance of a gun barrel is to direct the bullet and the exploding gasses accelerating it. Without a barrel, the slug is not only nigh-impossible to aim, but it can't get up to speed to do much damage. They could make a black-powder bomb out of, say, a hollowed-out coconut, but it takes a lot more gunpowder to kill with an omni-directional explosion than to propel a bullet. Furthermore, you'd need a fuse to set a black-powder bomb off, and it's not like their target is just going to stand there and let them blow him up.
Yuzu is badass, holy shit
A strong attitude and a better haircut? I might start to like her. Although it helps that she's playing off characters more interesting than What's-his-name the MC right now.
Do you mean the smart one or the dumb one?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Probably the dumb one. He's certainly the weak link in the series so far. At least the other characters are slowly growing on me, but Taiju… nah.
The dumb one. So far he's mainly existed to be exposited to and to worship/protect Yuzuriha, which in turn makes it hard for her to be interesting because she never gets a chance to do anything independently.
Yeah I agree the dumb one's not really interesting. It doesn't help that his role in this new world is to quite literally be a pack mule & its shown that's all he's capable of. At least Tsukasa can mentally & philosophically challenge Senkaku along with being a badass hunter. At least the smart one/Senkaku is clearly becoming the more important one.
I mean now that the girls revived there's nothing left for the dumb one to do except just keep being a pack mule. Hopefully the girl finds an interesting purpose once this conflict is resolved.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."New chapter out.
Senkuu's dad sold his car so his son can pursue his dreams. That is the most heartwarming thing I've seen all week.
Same here...It was quite sweet. Now I sure hope the author didn't off the most interesting character in volume 2… But probably not.
Been checking this out.
What a crazy story so far.
I wonder if we'll ever learn what caused people to turn to stone.
One Strip! One Strip!Chapter's out.
Senku's really dead. That took some balls to do.
…Huh. If that leaves us with musclebrain as only protagonist, he'd better have some serious development. Hopefully Yuzuriha and the new girl will compensate.
Not believing he's dead when nobody even checked the pulse.

That's fair enough.
Though Tsukasa seems pretty sure he's for reals dead, and he's the type to be thorough. I guess we'll know soon enough.
One Strip! One Strip!Barring the introduction of a supernatural deus ex machina it seems like he's legit dead.
Nah. Maybe if this weren't the first arc and he weren't the most interesting character who has thus far driven the entire plot and been the generator of the vital scientific part of its premise, but narratively it makes way more sense for him to live.
Agreed. Killing him this early is sabotaging the premise way too much. The question isn't whether or not he survived, but how bullshit the reason for his survival will be.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."The reason is SCIENCE
You say that like other series haven't pulled a fast one with their premise (looking at you Sunday Without God).

In Shonen Jump though?
I'm still liking it but I think this conflict with Tsukasa happened way to fast for my taste & now were already making guns. The pacing is just too quick.
I would have like if the group had a couple wacky misadventures before inevitably attempting to kill each other.
