As people are wont to do when talking about the dangers of playing gacha, I'm posting the story of the guy that almost lost his home life due to being a whale, as well as the follow up one year after. Play responsibly, know when to quit, and save on F2P resources for things you really want.

Yeah, to be perfectly honest if it weren't for me hearing about those horror stories I might have become one.
When I buy a new game I'm like "Is this really worth it? It's on sale but that's still 40$." and when I buy for gacha I've been like "OKAY SURE I'LL SPEND ANOTHER 100$ FOR A ONE IN FIVE CHANCE AT MY WAIFU."
I know FGO has a "Summon simulator" which helps with the itch I wonder if someone made one for FEH.

There is one, but I never use it, so I don't even remember what it's called. You could probably find it on Reddit easily enough, though.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiI'm scared to spend one cent on this game.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.An article on the incident that caused sparking to become a thing
These days I only really spend on gacha if I've already been given a gift card, or it's something guaranteed like outfits or a guaranteed character.

I think the only time I ever spent money on FEH was the BK value pack. I have spent some money on other fremium games though. Honestly FEH is kind of the worst for me. If I'm paying real money, I want some guaranteed outcome... so no, I'm not buying orbs. Plus my ability to budget is weirdly attuned to 1. food and 2. video games. Would I rather (ignore the prices probably super don't match up here) yet another 3* hero, or a slice of cake? A 5* or a whole separate game?
I spend over $120 over 2 years ago & I didn't realize until the end of the year.
I surprisingly don't have buyer's remorse. It helps a lot that I didn't spend a $120 on a single day.
So it's a common mechanic?
I clearly don't understand the purpose of a gacha game.
I mean, Granblue's eventual response to people able to pick any unit after sufficient hoarding was to simply just constantly release limited units back-to-back to ramp up FOMO.
Yea, so I have no idea what any of that meant since FEH is the only 2 gacha game I've ever played.
It's never healthy to play more than 2 gacha games.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I would argue it's never healthy to play any Gacha games, but what do I know?
Well it depends on a person's impulse control, but i would never let anyone under 18 play Gacha.
That's sort of why i got into heroes recently, but i do take care to hoard orbs so i don't spend too much.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. There was a time when I was playing FEH, Contest of Champions and Future Fight (the later two aren't as gacha, but have enough microtransactions and randomness that I'm counting them) all at once. I didn't actually spend that much money, but doing all the dailies every day became a chore.
Plenty are fun. Its why ones like Granblue have gone on as long as it has AND got console games made using that sweet gacha money.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Speaking of Gacha money, does a portion of money earned in this game help finance the main games?
Yes, plenty are fun, but do keep in mind most Gacha games are designed to addict.
Like shit, Pokemon Masters is basically a slot machine with it's animation.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I play like 6 gacha games. It actually helps me NOT spend money since if I feel the urge to spend money on one I just log into one I have free currency stashed up on and pull there.
I just play 3, considering downsizing to 2, not because of money (I think I've spent $40 between all of them), but because one of them is just becoming a boring grindfest with little to offer.
Which of the other two for the curious? (I'm currently am playing Magia Record alongside FEH for the record)
Two gacha is plenty to keep busy. Three means I have to start giving up other entertainment like console games simply because I don't have enough time. At least FEH can be as low or high maintenance as I want depending on the day.
In theory I play Dragalia Lost, but I haven't touched it in a while due to always needing to download more data.
I think we can all agree, though, that the greatest Gatcha game ever is Xenoblade 2.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.I mean, it's the one gacha that doesn't ask for real life money, so it's hard to argue against that (it even has the crossover characters FEH won't do )
As for the other gacha I play: Dragalia Lost (fun story, but eats too much data and requires a lot of grinding to not get snubbed in endgame co-op), and a NSFW one I'm a little embarrassed to name (the grind is unbearable, and the pvp is just a mindless game of stats and who has the most recent 5-star jpeg).
Heroes is a relaxing gacha for me. 3 and 4 stars can be raised to handle all in-game content. Let the whales have the higher strata in AR and Arena, I'm just having casual fun here.

I play this and Pokemon Masters. I don't spend money on either of them, aside from a one-time purchase of the BK value meal in this game.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! What are we going to call the new pack with Brave Lyndis? BL value meal does not have the same ring to it.
Especially people who are quite impulsive and throw cash away for that one virtual item that the game usually rigs against you getting.
