Also, if Maki is anti-Kaguya, then it only makes sense Mikado is anti-Shirogane. So both of them sharing that unrequited aspect makes thematic sense

His inner thoughts upon meeting Kaguya again was "Thank God I've someone to talk to" and not happiness at seeing someone he loved for ten years. It seems more like Akasaka either decided that Mikado was in love with Kaguya later or was too preoccupied with making Mikado a loser in his introduction.

Think you're a little preoccupied with that one line.

Mikado was not explicitly mentioned to have a crush on Kaguya but it does explain why he’s doing all these backroom deals with Oko.

Also, Mikado is the Emperor in the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter that Kaguya is subverting. So him being the perfect suitor that ended up not getting the girl fits right in. Hey, remember when Prez, Mikado and Tsubasa had that whole talk about Prez and Kaguya's first time? Bet that was fun for Mikado.

The Shijo bloodline runs strong! Poor Mikado.

I'm starting to think this is whole Shijo conflict is due to all of them being losers in a love triangle.

I do like the twist here though regardless of whether its perfectly set up or not

A bit too easy for my taste, but then this sort of conflict isn't Aka's forte. Well, it's believable enough.

I love that it’s officially acknowledged in-universe that the Hayasaka family is full of ninjas. Also Ai’s techno-speak actually made sense! Not the usual babble.

Also not impressed with the Shinomiya cancellation op but I guess the Shinomiyas are boomers.

I have no comments on believability of teenagers extorting adults so I'm not commenting on that one, decent chapter

They did say he was a fuck up sooo.

I thought this was the relatively nice brother for most of the chapter.

Naw, the bald one is the asshole, the one with the hat is the follower and the one who gave Shirogane the money, and the black haired one is the only decent one who cared about Kaguya.

• Gan'an: Dad, not nearly as bad as he first looked, spent his life pining after his lost lover.
• Oko: Gigantic asshole, baldie, more or less the Big Bad.
• Seiryu: Hat-wearing toadie, ten-time winner of the Slimiest Motherfucker Award, failson.
• Unyo: Snek, also nicer than he appears deep down, still kind of a douche.

How is it that Ishigami is the one who got the cool guy moment of stopping someone from striking the main heroine.

Isn't that usually the male MC's job? Speaking of, where was Shirogane lol.

This is probably setting up for him and Kaguya having a moment next chapter, but its still pretty weird how he's not here.

I'm guessing Shirogane is the backup plan to whatever the Big Bad is going to do next chapter.

Yeah, this has all been too easy and Prez has done too little. I'm expecting a reversal of some sort on Oko's side and for Prez to bring the final trump card.

The big reveal of this chapter is the one thing I super like about the recent chapters.

The stuff around it? Ehh...

This chapter is getting roasted a lot on reddit though.

I'm pretty confident this arc right now is disliked more than the 3rd Years' Graduation and Miko and Osaragi's arc.

Discord isn't much better.
