It was not by my hand that they were sexualized.
To give this series credit, it really doesn't have many ecchi elements that's all too common in romcoms. It's still pretty tasteful to this day.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.It could if it wanted to, mind you. Just take this chapter as an example.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.This chapter is tame compared to what I'm used to.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I mean there’s still a stark difference in portraying realistic teen talk and pandering fanservice, even if they’re both “sexualization”.
Oh yeah. If anything, I find that Kaguya treats topics of sexuality far more maturely than the average romcom, where teenage girls with figures that a 23-year-old Instagram model would possibly literally murder to have routinely dress in various fetish outfits and fall tits-first onto the hapless bland protagonist, while simultaneously having actual sex be completely verboten. It sometimes feels like the entire demographic, both audience and creators, are stuck in arrested development.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Isn't there a spinoff that's meant to have all the fanservice this story lacks? And the fanservice kinda sucks? I think the author just isn't good at it.
I don't need to be proven wrong though.
Kinda? There's a "doujin" spinoff that had a few fanservicey chapters, but they weren't super well received. So it then went on to doing A Us and other for-fun stuff (you ever wanted to see Maki as Cinderella with Ishigami the fairy godfather? Of course you do), including a fairly popular Prez x Hayasaka storyline with them as preschool teachers and the rest of the cast as toddlers. This was all by a different artist too, so I wouldn't put that on Aka. That said, I'd say art isn't his forte.
The fanservice doujin chapters are being adapted into an OVA, by the way.

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Honestly I feel like the Shirogane/Hayasaka preschool teacher romance stories would make for a better OVA. lol
Yeah, at least in the Western side of the fandom the adorable ShiroHaya is all anyone remembers from the spinoff.
New chapter out. The series is getting serious now, focus on the intricate relationships between two parties and the eventual conflicts that will ensue.
Namely Kaguya's anxiety about a potential sexual encounter with Shirogane :V
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. She really has her priorities straight, hasn't she?
It’s really cool when you can see the joke coming and still get a huge laugh out of it. Poor Maki.
Wondering what Mikado’s ulterior motive is. I hope we see more glimpses of the Shinomiya-Shijo feud.
I like the implication that like Kei, Maki admires her brother more than she's willing to admit. Seems having tsundere sisters is another trait Mikado and Shirogane have.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Pfft, that changed tone fast.
Something is up with that lady who approached Mikado. Seeing some people wondering if it's the Shirogane mom, but whoever it is she will be back.
Ah, Kaguya keeping an eye on the important matters.
Honestly, though, I kinda want the Shinomiyas to lose that war. It might be the simplest way to get Kaguya freed from her family's influence.
Who cares about that. How is she gonna deal with sex.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Maki having to sit there while her best friend obliviously talks about having sex with her crush in vivid detail lol
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.We also know that they like finger play.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Wait what?
Tsubasa takes his fingers and sticks them up Nagisa's vagina and plays with it, hence her complaining about him not clipping his nails and risking inflammation

Obvious guess, Mikado is here to propose an alliance through marriage or something along those lines with Kaguya.
Nagisa is going to get hit by a bus or something with the way she keeps talking like that in front of Maki. Or possibly a teen pregnancy
Yea, there's no way she's that oblivious, which makes me think she's doing it on purpose.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Even if she is that oblivious, I feel like she's getting steadily less likable over time.
please do not sexualize the fictional 16 year olds
