Funny, your reaction is quite the opposite to the Battle Rite reddit. People have been gathering torches and pitchforks.
Personally, I was never really interested in the Royale mode. (The gameplay just never really appealed to me) Because of that, I am glad it is getting its own game, so Battlerite would not be saturated with a population that is not interested in Arena.
"I'm always alone. Sometimes I'm just alone by myself."I noticed.
To be quite blunt I think that most of the folks I am seeing are whining and overreacting
What they don't seem to realize is Fortnite is the exception, not the norm, to how an system like that would go. I remember there was an time were people assumed Fortnite's battle royale system would fail hard. No one expected it to get popular and no one expected the devs of that game to abandon the original PvE mode either.
If SLS does abandon the arena game then I'll complain as I do find it fun but from what I am seeing this isn't the case. They are going to be supporting both the original game and the Battle Royale game judging by the roadmap and I have no reason to really say they are being dishonest about it. The only complaint I have is having to buy the Battle Royale game but that depends on how much it is for me and I'll be getting an discount anyways.
My stance is to cross that bridge if it comes, not pre-emptively burn the whole thing down. I don't like most battle royale games either but thats because most Battle Royales are shooters and I have been coming to hate shooter games in the past couple years due to how awful their communities are.
I already pretty much blacklisted that Battlerite Sage youtuber from my youtube recommendations as he also was being kind of an dick about this.
Like the trailer, the drop-in dog is is pretty cute. Also wondering how Bakko managed to charge that far and whats with that moving barrel at the end.
In regards to the roadmap. Our next two champions along with many arena maps and some adventure system is coming between now and December. The next champion looks....demonish? I think he/she looks intriguing. I hope they are an ranged hero in the same vein as Alysia. I love playing Alysia.
I don't want this game going to the same way as say Gigantic for example, which sadly never caught an audience despite being an unique and good game.
Only its a bit worse in a sense as some of the people whom are part of this games audience are incredibly whiny and toxic. I got told to kill myself a few nights ago for the crime of politely telling an friendly Ashka to kill an Raigon whom wouldn't stop hounding me.

So the first test for Battlerite Royale occurred. I sadly didn't get in but the people that did get in recorded some vids of their playtime.
So far all controversy aside the game looks pretty good. It looks mostly like Battlerite with some moba and Royale elements in play, of course on a big map.
As said before, I hope this experiment works for the sake of the game.
I doubt I'll buy in because I've never been interested in a single BR game, but I gotta admit the interactable map objects and vendor system makes the game look a lot more vibrant than the "randomly look for stuff and kill who you meet I guess" I see from other BRs.
Heyo! So I played Battlerite a bit when it first came out and I enjoyed my time with it but other games took up my focus and eventually I uninstalled it.
I'm wondering how it's changed and if it's worth getting back into it. What're you guys' thoughts?
It's still the same game at its core. Probably the most significant thing they've added is daily quests for "sponsors" to work toward specific rewards (skin, chest, mount) aside from the classical fixes, new cosmetic content, new characters, and balance changes.
Is there something about the game you were wondering about in particular? I can't think of something big off the top of my head, but maybe you'd have a different opinion on an aspect that I could mention.
Its gotten new balancing, heroes, and a couple or so maps. There has also been a couple comp seasons already and their is some small e-sports going on. Beyond that the core game has not changed much.
The biggest changes are coming in the oncoming months. We should be getting more maps based on the Battle Royale Battlerite game, be getting some new lore tidbits, and be getting 2 new heroes along with some specialized quests?
Okay so after playing the beta session 3 tests I will say this. Its fun but....
If you don't like BR games then Battlerite BR may not be for you. If your only reason for not liking BR games is solely because of the FPS component then you should be fine.
Battlerite Battle Royale is pretty much an BR game with even more MOBA elements then the original. I did see some balancing issues but thats to be expected and SLS from what I have seems to have a pretty damn good balancing team.
All in all I am buying it tomorrow on release.

Also, go to the map, and press the keys p, e, a, r, l.
I feel like the dev team knows just how annoying Pearl is.
I liked the lore excerpt. Seems like Ruh-Kahn has more of an interesting character then I thought.
Winter patch coming in 11 days, contains a new champion, emotes and winter content.
And here is the new champion: Stormcaller, Chinese Dragon flavor.
Ooooh I like him.
Isn't there suppose to be a test server today?
Lots of stuff planned in general for February 19th - in Arena, everyone will be moving faster, a list of for-each-round-only items not like the ones from Royale will be added, teams with a dead player will gain access to a new #YOLO ability to temporarily speed themselves up and increase their effectiveness while making them take way more damage, and a few maps will have Royale's Exploding Barrels and jump pads added to them. Royale will have Oldur, Taya and Pearl added in addition to maps with new map features.
There will also be "a Free and Premium Battle Pass" added to both games.
Why they bully Ashka

Easter event.
Hmmm, thats an understandable choice. They'll have the balance the champions completely differently from how they work in arena then in battle royale.
I like how the people whom bought Battlerite and have been playing awhile, gathering skins, and all that won't be ignored.
I genuinely hope this experiment works out. I have been genuiely really craving an Battle Royale that is not some annoying ass shooter.
