Cell, With 21

As the eerily familiar redhead spoke, the green creature tilted its head slowly, listening intently to everything that came out of her mouth. What a story. If not for the utmost seriousness, he'd be convinced that she's talking about someone else entirely. "The old man already said I'm perfect as is." He groused at being called "imperfect". What did that even mean?

"Funny. Either you're from the future and I failed - which I find unlikely - or you're from a whole different world altogether." The eerie tail flickered lazily behind him as he slowly straightened out. "At least the old man finally started making pretty Androids as well." Short, wheezing laugh. "Must have gone through an identity crisis to go from lil' ol' me to Miss of the Universe."

"But perhaps a formal introduction is in order. I am Android 10 - or Cell, if you will, made for the purpose of combatting the Saiyan threat." Slowly, he slouched again in a sloppy bow, but his eyes were on 21 the entire time; more cautious than disrespectful.

Mordred - Van

Lancelot, of the knights on the Round Table there was probably only one other besides him that she didn't want to see. Mordred sneered at the knight, as much as she didn't like him she couldn't deny his ability and him dying might be more of a hindrance than a boon. "Yeah I dunno maybe." She said rather curtly to him. "There's a bunch people with lots of prana here so take your pick. Except for this one." She put her arm around 21's waist despite the tense situation she appeared to be in. "This one's mine" She emphasized the last word there partially as a warning and partially to just poke fun at the knight.

"That's King Mordred Pendragon of Camelot." She noted to Liz. She was going to say more but 21 had already said enough even though she'd have to correct the redhead later on something's. For now though Liz wasn't the problem. "This guy bothering you 21?" the red Knight asked as she stepped slightly in front of the momdroid and stared right at Cell.

Lancelot - Van

"Thank you for the information Mordred. I have no intention of treading upon your territory, so I will take my leave shortly."

He turned to look at the other people that had rapidly arrived as well...a bug creature of some kind...and also Arturia? No, not Arturia, the chest was too big. Still the similarity was too weird. He turned to Nero and approached her, especially after how she so casually addressed him as a 'Briton'.

"May I ask your name madam?"

Elizabeth, Van

"Hmm?" Elizabeth cocked her head slightly at the redhead woman's reaction, curious about that kind of reaction from her. "It might be, but it's the one that helped earn her a place on the Throne. It wasn't an insult, simply curiosity. I didn't realize the traitor knight would be so small and cute~" The woman squealed lightly, press a hand to a cheek as she looked Mordred over.

A small frown crossed her face as Liz listened to what 21 continued on to say, huffing lightly and looking annoyed. Resting a hand on her hip, she waved the one holding her bubble tea around a touch dramatically. "So I'm guessing this isn't going to be something we can just get over with quickly then? Oh goodie... and I had shows and events already planned."

The dragon-woman watched with a curious, and maybe touch sly, interest as Mordred wrapped her arm around 21's waist. Her eyes danced between the two, taking a closer look at them than she had done previous. The other woman was a little older than the ones Elizabeth typically took interest in, if only just, but it seemed the two shared a common interest. If she managed to catch the woman's eye, Liz would grin and wink at her.

"King?" The pink-haired woman asked curiously, eyes moving towards Mordred. "Is that self-proclaimed Mordred, or did you get your hands on a grail too?"

It was at that moment, that a familiar sound and voice reached Liz's ears. Her eyes grew wide slowly, before her head whipped around in its direction. Once she had confirmed exactly what she had assumed, the idol turned the rest of her body and pointed on clawed finger in Nero's direction and shouted, "Nero! You're here too?!"

Santa, Bucket Broblems
Santa was undeterred. After all, even if she wasn't king of this godless land, she was still a visiting foreign dignitary. They had to listen to her.

Without putting down her sword or his bucket, Santa asked the man "Answer me this: are you aware that you and everyone else is wearing a bucket on their heads?"

Buggyboi and Romagurl, Van

Nero couldn't help but pout at being so brusquely ignored. In Mordred's defense, she was preoccupied with someone Caster identified as her fellow blonde's sweetheart. She was certainly easy on the eyes, and just for that the magnanimous emperor would forgive the rudeness. Just wait 'til folks in Chaldea hear of this, too~

Focusing back on more important things, she turned to Lancelot with a flourish. Ever a gentleman, this one, although he seemed... a little different? He certainly didn't recognize her - which, given how splendiferous she was, must have meant that this Lancelot never met her. "Umu! I shall grant thee a privilege of my name, Sir Lancelot of the Lake! I" Caster did a little twirl, showcasing herself for everyone present with her dress somehow not hiking up despite its criminal shortness. Somehow, the air exploded into a shower of rose petals that crowned around her - a neat little trick to fulfill her own vanity. "am Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, fifth of the imperial throne, a prodigy of arts, chosen of the gods, appraiser of all things beautiful" Here she shot a wink at 21 and Mordred too - because despite her scruffiness, she certainly filled in the cute department. "and a Servant of the Caster class."

"Umu! Much pleased to make your acquaintance!~" In the meantime of this little show, Cell stared at 21 and Mordred - albeit for different reasons. If the redhaired cyborg was from some uncertain future, that meant she knew much more about fighting and ki than he did - which invited for him to be cautious. The one called Mordred however rubbed him the wrong way. Smelt of magic, and magic he had very little to defend against. One of the others called her a knight, too...

"You needn't worry. I suppose you could call it... catching up with work colleagues." He drawled slowly. "If my hunch is right, your girlfriend could bench press me with one arm. I don't think I'm much threat to either of you." He added as an afterthought, chuckling whistlingly.

Back to Nero, it seemed she didn't initially recognize Liz even as she pointed at her. She certainly seemed familiar, Caster thought, before recognition finally dawned upon her. "Aha! We meet again, my musical rival!" She grinned, meeting the finger pointer with her own - which felt a little silly to watch from an outsider's perspective, considering that they were just a few steps from each other. "I see you've grown since the last time I saw you. Good! I would not accept it if my long-standing opponent kept in one spot while I bloom!"

Lancelot - Van

Lancelot gave a bow, apparently this servant already knew him. Considering the circumstances and what was going on around him, he found it best not to question the situation and simply roll with it, what could be the harm after all? It would also keep things from getting bogged down and allow him to go search for a new partner to form a bond with quicker.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Nero. I apologize for the rudeness of not knowing your name when you already know mine."

This one seemed energetic and full of life. Lancelot felt bad for momentarily mistaking her for his King as even if the surface looked similar in some ways, the difference in personality was clear, though that wasn't exactly a bad thing either.

"Now if you will excuse my haste, I must go search for a new master. I will not be able to fight in the shape I'm in currently and if I have been truthfully told the full situation, I feel that I will have to fight a lot."

With that, the knight turned and walked away heading to the holodeck to go see if he could find someone suitable, both in personality and capability, to function as his master. He stepped inside the holodeck almost immediately after the point man, but rather than ending up in the same location-

Lancelot -> Throat of the world

The black knight ended up at the throat of the world.

Van

"It is... quite alright. This is not the Cell I knew, particularly seeing as he's meant to fight the Saiyans whereas my world is living together with them in peace." Shaking her head slightly after a moment of pondering as well as to calm Mordred down, 21 decided to play things safe by giving the insectoid Android 10 the benefit of the doubt.

"My apologies, Cel- Android 10. Your counterpart is... somewhat of a handful I'm sorry to say. He ate the lives of other beings and even other Androids to transform into evolved forms and was drunk on his own power. Please do not go about his path and continue doing good for the world, I beseech this of you." Somewhat mollified by his much more humble self, the scientist finally gave the giant biodroid a smile.

Sniffing the air that was now all but infused with the strong and delectable scent of Servants, 21 couldn't help but worry for her own sanity with all these powerful people around. Already she could feel her stomach waking up, quaking from sheer desire even as her hands fumbled about to unstopper a bottle of satiety filling Senzu bean strain to down and calm the beast within herself.

"Y-yes... it is a pleasure to meet you all as well. Servants seem to have some rather i-interesting qualities, yes..." One couldn't be rude after all, even if they were hit by hunger pangs. Thankfully for all involved, the substitute had worked for the moment and a sigh of relief was let out as she finally relaxed her tensed body.

The Point Man- Van to Dawnstar

The Point Man listened to where the mission was and it seemed that the mission was on some kind of holodeck that would take them to some VR simulation to unlock something on the vehicle. Hm. Better go to this simulation and let the psychics in this Van argue to themselves, as many of them seemed like they knew each other...and some even had strange appearances, which he assumed to be psychic illusions they created to themselves to look like that.

He went to the Holodeck and there was multiple choices to go to multiple places. Eventually he decided and chose Dawnstar, and was suddenly taken there.

Point Man- Dawnstar

The F.E.A.R operative found himself in a snowy place and near a house with strange banners, the soldier looked around his environment and the place he was seemed kind of backwards like the history books of medieval history he read before back with..Fettel...and in the training facility...

No. Focus. Remember your training and keep on track.

He decided that exploring was for the best and the strange house with the rotten banners seemed interesting and exploring it might be a good idea..though he had to be careful of any attack from any enemy, which he expected his heightened reflexes will aid him in any ambush.

He made his way to the Vesuius Manor, going inside the place, though still ready to reach for his weapons in case of any attack.

Prime Meridia

Malkoran only cackled wildly as his health tricked downwards under the barrage of attacks he was absorbing. When it dropped down low, he merely started to cast his fast healing spell with both hands, and it started to fill right back up at alarming speed.

Morrigan and her Shadow Blade managed to get his health down low once more before he could get to full health, once again dropping down to dangerously low levels.

After a few more seconds of taking sustained lightning damage from the vampires, the light from his hands began to visibly putter out, eventually stopping.

Finally, with Ragna smashing him in the face with his blood scythe, the necromancer's health went to zero, and he crumpled down into a heap.

"Fantastic!" Meridia's voice shouted into all of their ears. A ghost-like image of her appeared, identical in appearance to how her statue had looked, but now able to actually move her limbs. The result was effectively a blue-tinged hologram now standing on the altar.

"Excellent, I can feel some of my power coming back already. Now we can move on. But first, allow me to reward you with... oh... hm..." She frowned, staring straight ahead as if looking at something nearby. "Of course you didn't start in Helgen... you could have at least made sure to actually go through character creation... bah, I'll do it myself."

Her hologram disappeared for a few seconds, then popped back up. "Alright, there, that should have things settled. I had to guess at your races and skills based on how you fought, hopefully you're satisfied with them because they can't be changed now. Enjoy your rewards."

If the Alternates opened up their menus, they could see that, while their appearances were unchanged and they (probably) didn't feel any different, they now had actual character information they could access. They all had a race, a gender (that hopefully matched their actual gender), and their level listed as level 1. It also listed skills - all of their skills were at level 10, save for each person having one or two skills listed as a higher level. They all also had a shiny 300 septims added to their coinpurse. Per person!

And of course, the ba-dong from the quest updating.

  • Prime Meridia
    • Restore the Temple of Meridia to its former glory.

"Now that I have my temple back, we can really get into the swing of things. Obviously you'll need to kill Molag Bal eventually if you want to get that Dawnbreaker. But if you want me to be of any help in tracking him down and providing you with more rewards and experience, you're going to need to put in some effort at getting this temple back in order. Oh, with all of you working together, it may very well be restored to its prime, isn't that lovely?"

If anyone were to check Malkoran's corpse, they'd notice that it was devoid of any items or money. However, his staff was still on the ground for anyone to claim. It was a Staff of Frostbite that still had 87 seconds of usage left on it, and would shoot a weak stream of cold magic at a target.

Obviously, despite all of this, the Beacon was still stuck in Lucina's inventory.

Mordred - Van

Mordred backed down a little when 21 essentially told her she was okay. But she stil stared at Cell just a little bit longer. If anyone in the van seemed sketchy it was this guy. She didn't say anything though and turned her attention back to Liz, who was again talking about the Grail. She was even going as far as assuming that Mordred used a grail to get her throne that didn't take well with the red knight as she fixed Liz with a bored but slightly annoyed look. "No I didn't. Grails are trash that magic users fight over because they don't wanna work at granting their wish themselves." She stated bluntly to the strangely dressed Lancer."I don't know who you are," she continued "But I can garuntee you don't know as much about me as you think you do."

Falkreath Forest Path - 3/263 Barbii Found
"Oh, I wasn't expecting you to bring a friend," this Barbas said as Jeanne walked up. "I'm glad that you're both here, because you'll need every helping hand you can get! You see..."

And then the original Barbas showed up. The second asked "I take you've already informed our friends of the issue?"

"Well I didn't just follow them acting like a real dog the whole time! Of course I have, Barbas," Dachsbarb said. "Don't worry, they're all VERY EAGER to help out a poor little dog like us two."

This number changed quickly. With a brief flash of light, this second Barbas now had a fully grown Great Dane sitting at its side, looking at its progenitor with mournful, very droopy eyes.

"...Like us three," Dachsbarb corrected himself with. He then looked up to Jeanne and Delta, who were probably despairing right now, and said "This is what you're going to have to put up with. Do either of you have an idea as to how to get a lot of dogs to follow you at great distances? Maybe you're both secretly dog scholars, and I just didn't know."

High Hrothgar
"Perhaps I have not made it..."

Paarthurnax stopped, as a certain genteel man entered the cold stone room, looking very knightly, dark, and terribly unexpected.

Briefly shaking his head, Paarthurnax muttered "That prophecy I wrote is incorrect now...nuz pruzah. I will take all of the aid your world offers me."

"Perhaps I must state it clearly," he continued. "I know who you are. You're all travelers of the stars, acting out some kind of story in a great machine that is beyond anything I know. I am, to you, a character in a story. How I am aware of this, how this understanding, mindooran, was put into my mind, I do not know."

"But I figure that doesn't matter. With what glimpses I can see into the fabric of this fake world, I can see that you th—four are only one of multiple. You want an objective to complete, aan yah, not a conversation with an old dragon. I'll give that to you."

"There is, in this world, a crisis of Dragons acting according to their nature. One such is known as Alduin, and though we have spoken through the ages...or merely fractions of a second in real time, he has never once considered my point of view. That the world need not go down in flames."

"I want to change that."

"Your goal is simple: help me find Alduin. Though my ability to affect the world around me is weak, perhaps if I instilled the same sense of mind that I have into him, he would understand the futility of what he does. Even if I am nothing more to you than a character in a story, would you spend your precious time in this world to aid me so?"

Susan, Van
21's odd ability to admit all of that shouldn't surprise Susan. It did at least explain just a little bit about her, though but not why she wore a lab coat all the time.

"...I had no idea. That's...okay, well...sorry about that." Susan finally let herself stop recoiling from the prospect of touching her. If it really was a misunderstanding like that, even if being able to smell divinity might seem a little questionable still, she could at least try to open herself up more.

And also probably try to cook something for her, but Susan didn't want to be hasty.

"I don't think I should've just assumed things," she admitted to 21, "but maybe I...can..."

Susan trailed off as a bunch of new people arrived.

And she was ignored.

Now technically by herself in a room of people, Susan stared at the big group of people who keep calling themselves "Servants" and asked out loud "Why don't I get anyone I know..."

Lady (Cave)-No I'm not sorry

Lady put her guns away as the jackass went down and their....she supposed she'd consider her the "Client", appeared and started babbleing something about character creation and races and skills or something. A prompt told her that a "Glass bow" had been placed in her inventory.

What? What inventory?

The second she thought that, said inventory appeared in front of her. She did not fail to note the gold now in her, er, inventory, and made a note to check what that was actually worth when she got to a town. the Glass Bow just confused the hell out of her.

"Who the hell would make a bow out of glass?"

Maybe she was supposed to sell it to a collector for more cash? Made as much sense as anything else. The only other section she saw was something called "Alternate Outfits". Confused and wondering when the hell she'd picked up clothing, she pressed it, only to find 2 options, labeled "Devil May Cry 4" and "Devil May Cry 5". She gave said menu a funny look, more confused then anything else.

"Devil May Cry? The hell?"

She pressed the Devil May Cry 5 option to test it, and suddenly found herself in a new, considerably darker outfit. She blinked as a set of yellow shades suddenly appeared on her face, and looked over the new outfit.

"Hmmmm....this isen't actually half bad looking. I could get used to this outfit. And the shades are a nice touch."

Elizabeth, Van

"Dohoho." Elizabeth chuckled dramatically, pressing the back of one hand to her face. She puffed her chest out, both in a preening manner, and to also show off her now sizeable assets to the shorter girl. "Indeed I have. And in more ways than one now. Why, back home I'm a successful singer now! You might need to do a bit more blooming soon to catch back up! But if anyone could do it, it would be you."

Her attention turned back towards Mordred as the girl began to complain ignorantly about the power of a grail, which made the demi-dragon unsure if the knight was lying to not admit she had or had actually not used a grail and was simply calling herself King because she could. Liz didn't know enough about her personally to say, nor did it really matter. She chuckled breathily, switching from the theatrical persona she was showing to Nero to a more mature and cool one; Her eyes shining with amusement and curiosity. "Is that so, Little Kitten? Then I do wonder how you managed to become king after you became a servant. Because everyone knows that your little fight with the king didn't end well for either of you. And I did forget to introduce myself. Thank you for reminding me."

Glancing around the area, Liz smiled warmly and said, "I am Erzsébet Báthory. Or Elizabeth Bathory, as you would likely know me."

Susan's statement caught the pink-haired woman's attention, Elizabeth turning her head in her direction curiously. She stared for a moment, looking the woman over, before her smiled returned and she stuck her own clawed hand out. "Well perhaps you just need to get to know the people who are here already, instead? And I only truly know one other person here, myself."

Gwen - Rapid-Fire Inventory Management; Meridia's Temple

As Malkoran crumbled into a heap, a small white ball impacted him, which exploded into a large spiderweb, binding him to himself and the floor at the same time.

Probably would've helped more if it had landed before he died.

Humming a tune to herself, she skipped over to Malkoran's corpse and immediately searched it for loot. While she was disappointed that it didn't drop the usual gold, she grabbed the Staff anyway. It added an elemental attack to her arsenal, and she could quote Schwarzenegger in battle now.

"It doesn't count as a superpower if half the population has 'em." She shot back at Morrigan, giving her a smile. It was a good line, though now that Gwen thought about it, the Succubus from a series of fighting games probably wasn't referencing TV Tropes.

And even if she was, she hadn't received the Most Common Superpower when she'd ended up in the 616. Though it probably was just a matter of time and artists on that front.

It was at that point Lady said something familiar, and Gwen turned to her just in time to see her outfit change. Thoughts of a Capcom franchise out of her head for now, she opened up her inventory, winced at how much of her carry weight she'd used up already, and began looking around.

The assertion that she was a Khajit made Gwen look over her shoulder, and she didn't know whether to be thankful or not that she was tail-less for now. In any case, her outfit was more "bunny" than "cat".

After only a tiny bit of searching, Gwen came across the outfit selection she had been given, and decided to model them for herself.

Edge of Venomverse? Oh, wow, Klyntar symbiote. Little bit monstrous for my taste, though. Venomized Variant Cover? Another Venom. Is this a thing? ...is it going to be a thing? Am I getting the Venom symbiote after Brock's done with it?

Right, let's try Lego Marvel Superheroes 2. I mean, I probably should've guessed this would be a minifig, but hey, videogame appearance. It's no Marvel Vs Capcom, but I'll take it. Evil Gwen is pretty obvious. Black and pink go pretty well, but wearing this outfit could send me down that road and I am not doing that. Long Hair is also obvious, but I do like the look.

Spider-Gwen is Gwen Stacy. I'm Gwen Poole. And I'm not Lady Deadpool, Gwen Stacy 616, or Ultimate Gwen Stacy either.

Ultimately, Gwen switched back to her normal outfit and turned back to Meridia.

"So, what was this about the quest not being over? Because we kinda held up our end of the bargain here. Your temple's free of undead, and we were probably gonna shove Dawnbreaker in a chest and forget about it, so this should mean we're done."

Tucker - Eloquent Like A Motherfucker; Mistveil Keep

Tucker knew he'd made a mistake the minute he saw the building. That wasn't an office, or a town hall. That was a castle. Whoever Laila Lawgiver was, she was the Lady of a Castle. His suspicions were only confirmed as he stepped inside and saw a woman sitting on a throne.

Remembering his little bit of etiquette training, Tucker got down on one knee and bowed to the Jarl.

"Your highness, I have come bearing... uh, grim news." He hesitated, trying to think of the right words. "Grelod the Kind has been revealed to me as Grelod the Bitch, a horrible evil witch who laughs at the suffering of the children of the orphanage."

It was going to be really hard to bribe this woman openly, so Tucker decided to go about it in a roundabout way.

"I beseech? Yeah, I beseech you, although I am a visitor to this land, I speak the truth! And while you obviously can't trust me enough to walk like fifteen feet and see for yourself, surely there must be something I can do to make you trust my word, and fire her ass. Out of a cannon, if you have those."

"Oh, The Blood Countess." Mordred noted, her voice dripping with distaste. "You can think what you want. I'm done here." She continued turning away from Liz and towards 21. "Hey, Partner. Carmilla & Sypha, Meridia's Temple

As she managed her inventory, Carmilla equipped the Elven Sword and held both it and the Alucard Sword, one sword in each hand, "I seem to have an Elven Sword now... and I feel like I have... learned magic?"

"I have learned some magic as well," Sypha explained to Carmilla as she checked her own inventory, but seeing nothing other than the learned magic. "Spells like Fire Rune, Lightning Cloak, and Wall of Frost."

"Well, I do not have those spells, but I do have Lightning Bolt and Ice Storm, both tied to a skill called Destruction?" Carmilla explained to Sypha and looked confused.

"Perhaps that is where this world groups destructive magic?" Sypha gave her own opinion on the new spells they learned. "The spells do seem to be elemental in nature like my own native magic as well."

Lady (Cave)-Non-descriptive title

Lady could not help but notice the strangely large amount of alternate outfits that Gwen was changing into as she looked around, not exactly sure what was happening next. Gwen already seemed to be asking that question, so she walked over to her, crossing her arms.

"And if you expect us to do more for you, then I expect more payment. We agreed to clear out a cave for you, not start a cult. Also, I think your menu is glitched, this outfit thing is talking about crying devils, but these are all normal clothes. Not to mention you only have 4 and 5 listed, and for some reason the other 3 are missing."

Lancelot - Hrothgar

It appeared to lancelot that he had stumbled into an exceeding odd situation...and that he had interrupted a conversation. He felt bad, and also awkward, that his own appearance apparently caused some annoyance.

"My apologies for the interruption sir dragon."

He gave a bow for any insults he may have caused by just appearing out of no where before walking over to join up with the other members of the van group that had ended up here.

"Since you are requesting aid, I am honor bound to assist you. It appears that even with my sudden appearance though, I arrived at the right time."

He turned to Priscilla and the others and gave a bow to them.

"to get introductions out of the way, I am Lancelot Du Lac, a servant like Mordred if you know him."

Priscilla, High Hrothgar

"Alduin, you say? Very well, I will assist you in your quest."

She then noticed Lancelot.

"Hello Lancelot, I am Priscilla. You're a servant? I presume that you're more than a simple butler."

Van

"Yes... d-dear." Blushing a little due to Mordred pretty much showing off their newfound relationship to all and sundry (and a little bit happy as well), 21 took a moment to recollect her sizable wits after the Saber of Red had gone off. Honestly it still felt like a dream to the scientist.

Perhaps all those sappy romantic comedies she had watched for research had something to them after all considering the fluttering and restless feeling in her stomach was so intense. And not the usual gnawing hunger kind either!

Shaken out of her reveries when she heard a certain goddess' forlorn voice, 21 blinked before chiding herself for being so impolite. This wouldn't do at all, making someone feel so left out of things. Taking a few paces back towards Susan, the researcher sheepishly rubbed her head before settling down again.

"Goodness me, I'm so very sorry about getting caught up in the moment there." Doggedly continuing to try to make Susan feel better and more comfortable while learning from past experience and keeping enough distance to not go into the 'personal space' bubble while being close enough to not allow for one to think they were cautious, 21 calmed herself down enough to be serious once more.

"In any case... I would still like to know you better at the very least. Even Cell over there is not really the same one I know so like Miss Bathory states, perhaps getting to know new people would be the order of the day here?" And thus did 21's friendliness level spike over 9000 that very second.

Lancelot - Hrothgar

Lancelot knelt before Priscilla, both because the loss of mana was starting to make him feel weak, and also because if he was going to try and find a master, putting his best foot forward and looking as much as possible as honorable a knight was essential.

"Indeed madam, I am a heroic spirit, a ghost summoned from the past to do battle and serve a master, only issue is that I'm disconnected from my master now. I was hoping to find a new master here in this- holo-deck I think mordred called it- to forge a new master-servant connection before I fade away due to lack of mana."

Jeanne Alter- Falkreath Forest Path

Coming in with an expression of "I can't believe this shit", Jeanne witnessed the dog divide itself again. At this point she has far passed the point of no return when it comes to caring.

Now, to make this not the worst thing ever. How does one gather a bunch of dogs?

"Well, I'd say we could use a really big bone and leave it at that, but where would we actually get one? Hm... I have two ideas. The first is making a smoke signal, but we'll have to deal with everyone responding to it, not just the dogs. The second is to see if I can convince some dragons to help us, if we even have them here. I dunno, the only dogs I've dealt with are the human kind."

Avenger was many things, but a dog-sitter she was not.

Prime Meridia - Temple of Meridia

"Excellent idea," Meridia said, her hologram slightly turning towards Gwen.

There was another ba-dong of drums, and the quest updated once more.

  • Prime Meridia
    • Restore the Temple of Meridia to its former glory.
    • Recover Dawnbreaker

"Yes, it is one of the schools of magic," she clarified for the vampires. "It was within my power to reward you with a few relevant weapons and spells. Your skills will improve with repeated use, granting you more masteries, and allowing me to reward you with greater boons."

"I may be a Daedra, but unfortunately I am neither omnipotent nor omniscient," she continued, gesturing at Lady. "My powers are contained to this world and what it contains. Whatever quirks you may encounter beyond that are the results of modifications someone else has added to your own. As for your payment...."

The hologram leaned over a little, as if whispering a secret to the Alternates.

"In case you haven't noticed, you're in a video game," she said. "You are destined to get some form of reward based on the complexity of your task, as well as whatever items you can scrounge from the creatures that stand in your way. But while I have been stuck reliving this questline for countless cycles, this is the first time it's managed to diverge to this extent. Unfortunately... Molag Bal has noticed this as well."

She sighed, and waved a hand, causing another visual to appear over the altar, this time showing a map of the whole of Skyrim. The only two locations on the map, however, where the cave they had started in, and the temple they were now in.

"I do not know how long it took us to realize this, but at some point we learned the truth of what we were, and no longer lost our memories each time this game has been saved, loaded, and started anew. Thanks to a network error involving a program that creates an item known as 'Corn Flakes' introducing a small error in this program, we were capable of looking at limited amounts of data from outside and piecing together what we could. Over the course of living thousands of lifetimes, we have managed to learn much more about this world that contains us than we ever thought possible, feeling our way to the boundaries of our prison and to what extent we can control what happens within it."

"This has driven Bal mad with the notion of escape, not understanding how powerless he would truly be. Will it be freedom if he is able to escape, only to find himself trapped in a machine used to create food? I, on the other hand, would much rather stay here, where I can become a god."

A tiny circle appeared on the map, centered right around where Meridia's temple was, and having a very small diameter, only barely big enough to reach the cave's location.

"As it stands, though, I am only able to truly exert my limited power in this small area. Pitiful. Hardly becoming of a Daedra," she continued. "For as much as I can influence the world around me, I am still bound by the systems that are in place. If I am to increase in power and expand my reach, I require 'players' such as yourselves to complete quest objectives such as the one you just accomplished. If you can assist me in doing so, and purging Bal in the process, then I can shower you with all of the luxuries that are in my power to give. Gold, jewels, rare equipment, I can even change the ownership of houses and interior locations to make them your own. And then when you return to your own world, you can eat your breakfast knowing he hasn't managed to add too much salt to it."

Tiki - High Hrothgar

"Well met," Tiki greeted Lancelot. She had looked at him apprehensively for a few moments, but the mention of Mordred made it clear he was another one of the unfortunate souls stuck on this quest, rather than one of the dream-kin populating this world.

"Even if this may be a world made from dreams themselves, it looks real enough to me. I cannot simply stand by while this... Alduin brings shame upon dragons," she proclaimed to Paarthurnax.

She approached Paarthurnax, stepping through the space between his face and the door so that she could walk outside, and let out a breath.

"Not just for your sake, or mine," she said, as a crack of thunder interrupted and Tiki was now a silver dragon with gold and green wingtips.

"But for the sake of all dragons who wish to live in peace."

Tessa - Markarth, Safest City in the Reach - Silver Blood Inn

Tessa just blushed a deeper and deeper red as Harley kept on stealing things from the bucketed people, until finally they managed to reach the Inn without any serious incidents.

"Oh something's gotten to these people's heads alright," Tessa answered Sam Guevenne. "But it's not old age."

She lifted up one hand and held it out from her face at a distance that was approximately equal to the radius of a bucket, and then gestured like a mime to try mimicking the shape of an invisible bucket on her head.

"It's buckets."

She snapped her finger.

"Oh! Except you! Where's your bucket?" she asked. "Everyone else has one except for us. And you. Are you not from around here?"

Delta - Falkreath

Delta nodded at Jeanne's plan. It might work. The smoke one, that was. Not the dragon one. That was just stupid. How would you even find a dragon? Let alone convince it to help!

Wait... wasn't that how they had gotten into this whole mess in the first place?

It was! Of course it would work!

Delta held on carefully to the one dog she was already carrying, and gestured at the other dogs to follow her. Then she took off at a sprint, back towards where they had come from, and where they had left the dead bandit's burning body... well, burning.

With her non-dogged hand already aflame thanks to the Incinerate plasmid, she grabbed whatever was left of the corpse by the ankle, and lifted it up at arm's length, waving it gently.

She turned her head towards the talkative Barbas, blankly looking at him expectantly.

Outside Bloodskal Barrow

If the dragon was some simple creature of animal instinct then surely it would be simple to nail him with a grenade to the underside but like all Dov he only had the look of a wild beast. In reality any dovah could understand the callouts made by the weak minded mortals and rightly react with maximum fury. So of course the dragon turned it's back on the others and started to stomp over to Alicia at tackling speed. Not like such tiny, frail creatures could threaten him even with his back facing them and he wanted, no, needed to punish this mortal for thinking that she could outsmart him by merely going behind him and throwing a stick at him. Unfortunately the dragon was missing one piece of critical information: he wasn't dealing with a band of normal adventurers.

First came the impact of Corrin's foreign magic to the dragons left leg which would result in a rather bloody and effective wound and a two slash-water combo from Azura onto it's right leg, both combining into a stumble and then a full on trip for the dovah, who created a mighty crash as he hit the dark coast and then a loud, low grinding sound as he skid towards his once prey. During all of this Amuro was increasing his rate of fire and even a big tough dragon would have big damage against that much red hot plasma. Finally came the biggest hit when the nade that was trapped under the fallen dragon detonated, releasing shrapnel and powerful shock waves directly into it's gut.

But it's eyes were alive and filled with rage as he looked at Alicia and told her, "Oblaan Mun. You will die,'' before shouting, "STRUN!" at the sky. At the start it only seemed like he had made a heavy downpour but then the thunder started followed by the flash and bang of a thunderbolt hitting the beach. Then another. Then another. Every 3 or so seconds came down one of these bolts from the sky, landing randomlynote  in a 100 foot radius. He would then slowly start getting back up with his wing legs, most surely planning to fly away in the chaos he created.

Meanwhile the cultist were taken out with minimal effort. Velvet sliced a neck wide open with her boot knife, Supreme Ultimate Edgelord xXxAstolfoColdsteel69xXx crushed spine and skull against stone, and Scott was helping one of these nice dudes get lit.
