Gwen - Marquess of Whosbury?;Van, Storage Room

Gwen had backed away from the conversation as it turned into an argument, and suspiciously soon after that, an impromptu sparring match. That she was suddenly asked to referee.

Sure.” The blonde replied to Maria, frowning. “But how am I gonna know if someone’s cheating? I don’t know the rules.

Whatever the rules, she wasn’t betting on Lady. Getting your ass kicked by an elderly mentor was the first step in a training arc that lead you to even greater heights of power.

And also the mentor getting killed, but she hoped that wouldn’t happen.

Tucker - No Fighting In The War Room; Van, Kitchen

Tucker had no idea what the hell was going on. People were slapping a container around, and he was pretty sure he was only hearing half the conversation between Amaterasu and Susan somehow.

But with Susan’s latest outburst, he had to intervene.

Alright, hold up.” The turquoise soldier said, standing from his seat, his meal laying on the table, unfinished. “Nobody is committing suicide, are we clear?

Now, I don’t know what the hell is going on, because I can’t hear half of what’s being said. But I’m guessing this all about Susan’s whole God of Cannibalism thing, and that you’re a god too.” He gestured to Amaterasu. “And I know not everyone’s happy with that. But the way Susan explained things earlier is that her meat comes from Meat Heaven, where human meat goes after it rots away. And that’s totally the best case scenario when it comes to cannibalism. Nobody is dying to keep Susan alive. They’re dying anyway, yeah, but she’s not having people killed.

Tucker turned his gaze on Susan.

And so long as she’s stopped tricking people into eating the meat, we won’t have a problem.

The helmet-less soldier turned back to Amaterasu, and sighed.

Look, I know you feel it’s wrong. But it’s just how she is. And we can’t afford to lose people to fighting between ourselves when we’re losing enough to Snapbacks. You don’t have to be happy about it, just don’t kill her over it.

Amuro - Living Room

Amuro almost fell over backwards from how little Velvet knew. Ok, so psychic material, his armor and most of the other questions were justified, but how could she not know what an asteroid was? did the people of her world not even look into the night sky with telescopes? Amuro resisted the urge to shake his head, he had a long road ahead of him but it'd be insulting to do that.

"Ok, first with the simplest question: Asteroids are rocks in space, often big ones."

His hands balled up into fists temporarily before he relaxed, this wasn't the time to be having flashbacks to Axis.

"as for how big gundams are, they ranged from 20 meters to 40 meters, or 65 feet to 135 feet, give or take a few inches, and as for why they were so powerful, imagine a being of that size with a blade made of energy and a rifle that fires bursts of fire capable of melting anything in its path. I'd give a demonstration but the firing range is being used by someone I'd rather avoid right now."

To the question of why he painted his armor, he gave a simple shrug.

"Because it looks cool, that's really all I can say. Though the paint isn't just on the surface level of the armor, it'd take a lot more than a scratch to ruin the paint job."

It was a bit childish, but considering Char was always known for giving his mobile suits bright and recognizable color schemes, Amuro felt he should do the same.

Tessa - Living Room - Van

Tessa was glad they got the hell out of that living room before things could get worse between Velvet and Gri- hey what the fuck was Santa doing? Was... was she hitting on that edgy French girl she had hit on yesterday?

"I'm going to the back with my new friend," Tessa said grumpily to Santa just before exiting the room, shooting a sharp glance at the Champion of Christmas. "Don't worry about it, I'm sure you won't be bored with your friend here now."

Tessa - Storage Area - Van

Stomping into the storage area with footsteps filled with great purpose, Tessa momentarily paused at the entrance to look at the people in there before shaking her head, resuming her path and following Kawa.

"Oh yeah, that would explain it. Technological acceleration caused by data from recurring future alternate timeline can be confusing to most people. It's one of my areas of expertise, though, if you want to talk about it," she said to the submarine girl after she explained what her deal was.

"What's going on here?" she added, standing a little close to Gwen's side. "And what are you wearing? Is that a costume?"

Velvet (Living Room)-Demonstrating how little she knows

Velvet nodded as Amuro started explaining how large these things were. If that was indeed the case, then the sheer power would make perfect sense. But.....

"That's larger then any ship I've ever seen. That's larger then most buildings, in fact. How would you even move it? And what do you mean, rocks from "space"? Are you trying to say big rocks just appear out of thin air where you come from?"

Amuro - Living Room

Amuro was definitely not going to explain what the hell his power source was, because he knew that'd send him down another rabbit hole of questions that even he wasn't full qualified to answer.

"I'm just gonna say they're powered by Nuclear energy, but we're gonna need to cover that another time otherwise we'd be here for a year."

The gundam quickly tried to shift the topic over to asteroids since explaining the concept of 'space' would probably be a lot easier than the mechanics of nuclear fusion.

"As for asteroids, do you have stars in the night sky on your world?"

Griffith, Technology Is Fun, Main Room

Velvet seemed reluctant to believe what Amuro said, but were they not speaking to one such warmachine now? The Gundam was apparently a unique "mobile suit" that grew so successful and popular all following suits were called its name. Apparently Amuro was once a man of flesh and bone, but due to an accident ended up becoming the Gundam he presumably piloted back in a day.

"Quite a suit of armor." 20 to 40 meters? What kind of unseen riches Amuro's homeworld had to field such monstrosities en masse? "But I suppose it is only fitting to have your best traverse the sea of stars." Velvet then asked why someone would paint a suit of armor. Given her choice of attire, this seemed like a natural question to ask. She really was a Guts-woman.

"Imagery is important to some. Certain colors or armors could become synonymous with certain events or good fortune. The White Devil is probably a scourge to his enemies, but a savior to his allies, and with these colors they all know who they're dealing with." He looked at Amuro. "And he means the sky above the planet. The stars, the celestial bodies, other planets out there. Back home it is impossible for us to traverse there, but it seems in other places the technology is sufficient enough for even warfare in space."

Maria, On Judging, Storage

"Ah, just make sure nobody sticks fingers in the other's eyes." She laughed, stretching idly as she watched Kawakaze and Tessa stroll in. "Ah, good day, you two. Just in time to witness our spar."

Puru - Storage Area

Turned out that Lady's complaints to the old woman turned in to an actual argument over the right way to handle Puru's problems. An argument taking place not five feet from the girl in question. The young girl really didn't know how she felt about this at first. As far as she knew, these two were team mates before she showed up. Now they were fighting because of her...problems. This entire situation was new to her, but she knew that it felt bad.

Now it was turning in to an actual physical confrontation. They were going about it in a civil manner, but this was brought about because they both had different ideas of how to help her. Puru decided that since Lady was getting into this spar with the old woman, that probably meant that her gun lessons were over. She put the raygun back on her belt and saw that two others entered the room. As Tessa entered with a new girl Puru didn't really know, she slipped out of the room behind them silently. She just kept her head down to avoid drawing attention to herself.

Puru - Into Kitchen

The young girl meandered for a bit before she came upon the kitchen. It took a moment, but she realized this was the place she ran from earlier and never got the chance to see. There was some commotion going on with a woman with horns and a woman with white hair. Puru didn't have the energy to care. She walked past a man in blue armor, or maybe it was teal, and faced some big machine against the wall. It looked the closest to a fridge, but she had no idea how to work it. She just started poking at buttons, distracting herself with figuring it out.

Delta - Kitchen Nightmares

Meat consumed, Delta slammed her faceplate shut once again. That would do. For now.

Behind the unfeeling visage of her helmet, her eyes flicked to the side as Puru entered the room. Jesus, these guys just couldn't stop getting kids involved, could they? Goddamn bastards.

And it appeared that the child was hungry, given how she approached the machine. Delta was fine with eating raw meat of exquisite quality and questionable origin because she was an abomination accustomed to the hell of Rapture, but it wouldn't do for a kid to reduce themselves to eating like a fucking animal. Kids were supposed to be happy. They were supposed to be having macaroni and cheese with their mom and dad after a nice day at school, or snacking on a juicy red apple under a big tree in the yard.

Taking a few plodding steps until she was standing in front of the food device, Delta knelt down so that the Big Daddy was only somewhat towering over the girl, and tapped her on the shoulder with one of her large, metal-and-rubber-coated gauntlets, and then tapped a couple of buttons on the device.

Then, with one final button press, a cheeseburger, fries, and a juicebox manifested in the receptacle.

Priscilla, Arena

Priscilla fights valiantly, but eventually ends up with some wounds on her arms and her side from Tiki's axe.

"Whew... you're quite a skilled fighter, Tiki. We really ought to go get ourselves cleaned up, by the looks of it."

Doopliss, Gathering Hall

"Wow, this guy sounds like a real pervert," Doopliss said, referring to Batman. "I mean, I'm a sleazy guy, but I don't hang around with kids."

That was true. Everyone in the weird animes Doopliss watched were all at least 18.

Velvet (Living Room)-On space

Velvet nodded as Amuro started talking about stars.

"Sure, sailors us them to navigate at night."

Then Griffith cut the middle man and went into more detail, and Velvet's eyebrow once again went up.

"But how would you even get there? Even birds can't fly that high in the sky."

Then she turned to Griffith. "I guess that can make sense, if you're superstitious like that." She raised a dismissive hand, clearly not in agreement herself. "Still, I'd argue function over form. Unless you do whatever he did with his armor, it just sounds like a pain in the ass. Let the body littered battlefield intimidate your enemy, not which shade of red you decided to choose."

Lady (Workshop)-Who needs rules

Lady shook her head. "I don't see the need for a ref. What are we, 5? There's no cheating in a fight. Only rule is "Don't draw an actual weapon". Fight until a knockout or someone taps out".

As she said this, she started removing her considerable armory from herself, an act that took a good minute just from the sheer number of guns. Once done, she stepped into the ring.

"I'll let you take the first punch." Lady said to Maria in that slightly cocky way that signaled she had no idea what was about to actually go down, unlike probably everyone else watching.

Carmilla & Sypha, Outside

Both vampiresses suppressed a chuckle when Tetra called herself fresh meat before answering.

"We were here since the beginning," Carmilla shook her head. "That was... something. A mismatched mob of miscreants who were not even the ones Will and his folks wanted to summon."

"There were even people who clearly could not fight..." Sypha continued. "It was sabotaged."

"And we had to even recover the damn van from someone who stole it," Carmilla sighed at the annoying start to this adventure. "I think most of these breaks are because Will's not faring any better on his end than we are on ours."

Max, Retreat > Bedroom

Somewhere along the line, a huge cyborg quietly excused himself out of kitchen, only briefly stopping by to give Tucker a grateful pat on the shoulder. That was definitely enough fun for today. He needed a moment on his own, away from gods, questionably dressed women, Scotts and anything else in between.

And the bottle of absinthe would help, no doubt.

Griffith, Main Room

He raised an eyebrow. "What, do your world's armies go into battle without any colors or standards? Does the Abbey have no dominant color to signify who they are, for one?" Perhaps dressing within accepted forms was recognition enough, he thought in amusement. "...it's true, martial skill is proof enough, but what if you associate particular form with it? Not everybody can see you slay one hundred men in one night, for one..." Something about this particular example seemed to amuse the silver-haired knight.

"As for how spacefaring is possible, I suppose we should ask an expert." Griffith replied on the matter of space voyage, gesturing towards Amuro.

Maria, Storage

The old crone briefly looked back to see Puru leaving. Perhaps that was enough excitement for her. "These rules are good enough for me." She nodded, putting away her blade and pistol before idly cracking her knuckles, looking at Lady inviting her to take a first shot. "Well, you're nothing if not generous, lassie." Maria chuckled, approaching her opponent and slowly assuming an orthodox stance.

"Well then, let's get to it." Her left snapped forward in a straight, but stopped before it could reach the target. Instead, her right went on for the true attack, aiming to dig her fist in Lady's liver in a crushing blow, distressingly fast and strong for someone of this age.

Listening to the two ladies, and realizing that the project as a whole was lucky to even get this far, made Tetra put her hand to her face. Amuro - Living Room

"Ok how to describe this...actually let me see if I can find something on the television that's better able to show you."

Amuro got up and started changing the channels on the television until he landed upon this:

"Ships like these are used to help humans reach the stars, though ships in my world are a bit more heavily armed and armored than these shuttles. Simply getting out the atmosphere though requires an excessive amount of power and force."

Velvet (Living Room)-You know nothing

Velvet shrugged at Griffith. "Oh no, they have a uniform, sure, but they use cloth and white armor, not bright red or what have you."

Velvet then watched the weird box again as it was demonstrated exactly how one goes into space.

"....Wow." She said simply. "Really puts into perspective how little we know, doesn't it? On my world, they haven't even discovered the entirety of the known world yet. There's a whole continent across the ocean we know almost nothing about. I've never been that into this sort of thing myself, but I know a few people who would probably flip if I told them that there were whole other worlds they could sail to on this "Shuttle" thing."

Lady (Workshop)-Round 1, Fight!

Of course, Lady was waiting for the attack. The feint caught her off guard, but she was quick enough to partly dodge it, only taking a glancing hit from the shrike. Even as she dodged, she threw her attack, kicking with her leg toward the side of Maria's left leg in an attempt to stagger her before striking out with her right fist toward Maria's body, not targeting any particular area.

Maria, Storage Fight

She was quick on her feet. Good. The old crone feared that there might be no challenge whatsoever. She met Lady's kick with her own, leaving behind a resounding clap before swaying back from the punch. It seemed she was planning to make use of her reach again, throwing simple, compact left straights towards her opponent and inviting her to either weave through them or dash in despite the risks.

Griffith, Main Room

It turned out that sending a ship into space was a long, complicated process culminating in the launch easily comparable to that of a dragon's breath. The shuttle appeared monstrous to Griffith at first, but as it turned out some of its parts were detachable; mere supplements to even lift the actual ship (which was still huge) off the planet. "I'm afraid I'm more grounded into Midland and its surroundings over discovery of new lands, but I can see how someone could find such travels exciting. Space is a lot like a sea, isn't it?" He chuckled, watching the shuttle leave the atmosphere.

He wanted to point out that they were, in fact, doing such a journey now, but some people would object to finding enjoyment in something being done against their will. "And just how many planets are out there? You could probably travel all your life and keep finding new lands."

Tiki - Van - Entering

"And you as well, Priscilla. I'd wager you have at least a few hundred years of experience under your belt," Tiki said to the half-dragon, putting her axe back in its strap.

Caked with blood, dirt, and sweat, and with some clothes that needed mending, Tiki gave a quick bow to the mostly-drunk audience and then, agreeing with Priscilla, returned to the van.

"I could do with a long soak and an even longer nap," she commented as she opened the door and stepped inside.

Amuro - Discussing space travel

“In the solar system we know there are 8 planets in total, including Earth, and then numerous dwarf planets. However journeying between them takes a long time. Space is incomprehensibly vast, and it makes our world seem so small and fragile.”

Amuro turned off the TV after that, not much point to leaving it on at this point before turning his attention to Griffith.

“So I have a question, how long have you been on this van?”

Velvet (Living Room)-The curse of the straight (wo)man

Velvet took a second to mentally count how long it had been.

"I've been here for about...2 days now?"

Sure as hell felt like a lot longer.

"I haven't had a chance to meet everyone, and it feels a lot more crowded today for some reason, something tells me they've been busy kidnapping people for their dirty work, but this group of people is way more disfuntional then my last one, feels like a pouder keg waiting to be set off, and I spent most of my time on a pirate ship with a bunch of pirates, demons, and a witch."

Lady (Workshop)-Going for a grapple

Lady lifted her arms as Maria dodged out of the way of her punch and replied with her own flurry of punches. She blocked for a moment, taking the hits on her arms as she timed the blows. Then, she suddenly reached out as the next one came, attempting to grab Maria's arm and force her to the ground.

Of course, Lady, not having much of any experience in this sort of thing, had a very untrained, basic grip on the arm and seemed to mostly be counting on brute, demonic force to take her down. It would not be paticularly hard for Maria to reverse the situation if she was able.

Puru - Kitchen - Making Friends (?)

Puru was not paying attention to her surroundings as she worked out how the machine worked. As such she did not hear when someone quite large approached her from behind. When Delta placed her hand on the young girl's shoulders, it caused her to jump in surprise and whirl around. Her eyes widened in surprise at the large, bulky figure she saw currently looming over her. For a second she thought it might be an old amphibious Zeon mobile suit, but it looked to be wearing fabric. It was definitely broad and tall, and was that a drill on its arm?

It was then that she noticed this figure was pushing buttons on the machine, clearly more familiar with it than Puru was. After a second a full meal of a cheeseburger, fries, and juice came out of the machine. It definitely gave Puru a better idea of how to work the machine. She waited for a second for the figure to grab its food before realizing that it was meant for her. With slight hesitation she took the cheeseburger and sides, nodding her head to Delta. "Um, thank you. I don't think we've met yet. I'm Puru." she introduced herself to the giant of indeterminate gender. The young girl found her way to a seat in the kitchen and claimed it, sitting to start picking at her meal.

The Van, Kitchen

By the time Susan was all up in her face, Amaterasu was blanching, not out of fear or anxiety, but rather because the rancid smell of decaying meat was overloading her poor, sensitive nose. So, very firmly, she took ahold of Susan's long-taloned hands and pried them off her shoulders, then rose from her seat and took a couple paces for a respectable amount of personal space. Once she had some air to herself, she first raised her scroll to address something that Max had said.

We addressed you as 'Mortal' only because We do not know your name, Mortal.

That much clarified, she quickly pivoted to the unexpectedly de-helmeted man in blue.

We have never suggested that anybody present be killed, or that they commit suicide, for that matter. Do not make Our words out to be something they are not when you cannot even hear them, Tucker.

The white-haired goddess took a deep breath, let it out, then returned to the subject at hand.

"It would seem that gods where You come from may exist in a different way. Very well. The multiverse is a vast place. Perhaps we will be able to find something in our travels that would allow a goddess such as Yourself to change Your nature. Perhaps not. We will be on the lookout, in any case."

She shook her head as if to clear it of the idea, then refocused and locked eyes with her fellow divinity.

"Humanity and gods will be what they will be, but the latter can exist only because of the former. Humans are an amazing race of beings, ever-changing, and one day they may shed the need for us gods altogether. That is not a bad thing. In fact, as is right and proper, We would be happy to see the humans who We have taken such care to nurture grow beyond us. It is a natural progression."

The canid deity folded her hands at her front in a stately motion as she continued.

"Yes, and it is also only natural for that which lives to one day die, Xilonecho. Even the Sun, as great and powerful as it is, will someday expire. At that time, We are sure humans will cease to worship it, and We, too, shall perish, but We do not mind. After all, one's worth is not determined by whether one dies, but rather by how one lives. And Your pantheon may have been unjustly murdered by hostile, alien forces, but so was every last one of Our beloved Celestials."

She let that hang in the air for a moment, not bothering to add an unsaid something about how you didn't see her going around moping about it for the rest of her days.

"So live by peddling Your human meat to humans if You must, Xilonecho. We will not dispute Your right to live, but We will not tolerate You forcing cannibalism upon them, either, nor deceiving or luring the unsuspecting into the act as You just did. Be open and honest about what You are offering them. If they do not accept after knowing what You would provide, then We suggest You make peace with the natural end of Your existence."

At last the personified solar disc turned away in a clear dismissal, apparently done with the cannibal goddess.

"That is all. Now then..."

Smiling the sort of smile that you didn't broker argument with, she grabbed Spawn's large black hand in her dainty pale one and began to unyieldingly pull him toward the hallway.

Spawn — Kitchen

Spawn reluctantly let Ammy hold on to his cold, dead hand, with her warm, soft hand, and followed behind her. He might have had a large toothy smirk on his face, but he couldn't quite get rid of that sinking feeling in his gut. All he could think about was whatever a 'thorough ritual cleansing' was going to involve.

It was probably going to hurt. A lot. Demons never could take blessings very well.

But it was too late to back out now. He already made the mistake of eating Susan's food, and enjoying it. The sooner he got whatever Amaterasu had planned for him out of the way, the better.

Susan, Who is Fed Up
All of this, in short, made Susan think.

The idea that Xilonecho and Amaterasu were different beings even if they were Gods was already acknowledged. But, if there was something that could really change a part of her existence that was so intrinsic to her? Putting aside whether or not she should, what could change that and not be also able to restore her to full godhood?

Humans leaving behind the idea of Gods...a thought that Susan had struggled with, but pondered many times before. After all, she was the only one as far as she knew. If any of the ones that people did worship were around, then they seemed fine with one of their kind walking around on Earth...

The sun dying was, to be brief, something that Susan and all others up there were very, very familiar with. They'd already gone through four already. However...could a God die just through time and time alone? If Susan did succeed, could that happen to her even after she had guided the world?

Everything up to that point was something that Susan was willing to stand there and quietly consider. Amaterasu was wise enough (and certainly very sobering).

That last suggestion of hers, though...the idea that Xilonecho would be better off dead for the sake of humanity...left her in a stunned silence.

Amaterasu left her staring at the floor in front of her, all of that anger briefly gone...but when she decided to take Spawn against his will?

That anger of hers came back in record time.

"...no, no, no you're not. No, you're NOT."

She stomped over and grabbed Spawn by the other hand, taking no effort to make sure she didn't cut into his "skin". Neither of them were leaving this room without her permission.

Snarling, looking right past the demon she was supposed to be helping, she growled "If I can't impose my will, I won't let you either. You let go of him, now."

Elesis (Desert) - Here Lie The Monster Hunters

"Armani, show some respect."

Elesis did not seem to be pleased by Armani's choice of words, to the point that a frown formed on her face for a brief moment. Mary remaining silent she could understand, but actually mocking the dead was too much, even for her... and she was looting their dead bodies.

"Even if they were nothing but street thieves it would not change the fact that they are still people, and this is the closest thing to a funeral they'll get out here. They deserve at least this much. Speaking of which..." She promptly flicked her fingers and her entire hand was instantly engulfed in flames. "One heartwarming funeral, coming right up."

It did not take her very long to burn the bodies after that, and despite her choice of remaining rather close to the bodies, it did not seem like the increasing heat bothered her in the slightest... not even after she had finished and returned to her companions... with part of her hair still on fire.

"Right, all set!" the corsair proudly announced. "Not sure where to put all these weapons and armor... I guess if there's some place to store it... otherwise I guess it'll all just have to go into my room. Either way, let's get going already! I haven't eaten much today so I'm starving."

"Man, building an inator really has a way of starving you," a noticeably accented voice mused as it approached the scene of the cannibal crime. "To think just a simple ray gun could make me so pooped," rambled Dr. D as he strolled into the kitchen with his trusted platypus partner and a new specially-crafted ray gun at his side. "Though maybe it was just all the shouting back there...but now that we have this baby, we're free to eat in peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaa..."

The duo stopped, looking at the two goddesses fighting over an unfortunate Spawn, Doof looking on awkwardly as he unconsciously filled the air with a seemingly endless long e sound.

In contrast, Perry was staring with obvious judgment, clearly sensing that he'd probably have to step in and break up whatever kerfuffle they'd just walked in on. Which he did, first putting a hand on his partner to make him shush, and then walking up to the group and pointing at the floor in a put him down gesture.

i guess you can watch me shitpost i guess
