Do not attempt to flee the system, our weapon systems will destroy your vessel.

Is broadcasted over by a rather stern voice, Michael about to reply but being taken aback and looking very confused. Looking for some explanation on what was going on from Captain Greg. Matthew raising a confused look.

"Um....do you mind telling me what you guys were doing before I showed up?" Alex moves toward the exit from the bridge; he'll stay in there for now, but he's going to try and evacuate in the Starbreaker if they open fire.

The Bridge

"I-I, I dont know.... Majority of us only just boarded the vessel a while back, no idea what the Captain was doing before!" Michael says a little panicked.

Matthew is seemingly calm, looking at Alex to stay with a look of... "I have a plan" as he pulls out of old communicator and begins to send a message to someone.

We repeat, do not attempt to flee the system.
Security forces will apprehend the ship and crew!
Attempts to escape will be met with orbital fire!

"THERE IS NO SKELETON IN MY CLOSET !" she yells, before looking at the others.

"Can't say about skeletons in my desk, though, friends !"

"Look, if they do fire, how much time do we have to get out of the ship before it blows?"

Arif appears in the bridge. He looks confused at the message.

"That's impossible. This ship is clean..."

Arif opens up the log of the spacecraft.

"Uh. Oh. It turns out that not everyone got the memo about our craft changing owners. The previous owners were a bit... Dangerous. All we have to do is send proof of ownership and everything will be right as rain."

He turns to Alex. "Relax. They're not gonna kill us. And if they do, we have about 30 seconds before critical systems shut down."

The same voice suddenly says, almost doing a 180 after getting seemingly interrupted by something. Michael ends up sending the documents. Matthew meanwhile has a cunning, smirk and I "I told you so" look on his face.

Alex seems to have calmed down some. "You're sure that the new ownership documentation is enough to get us clear?" he asks as he walks back to the control area of the bridge.

They both calm down too !

Arif turns to Alex. He zooms in on the verification portion of the document. "See that? That's my digital signature. If they're competent, they'll run the signature through, find out that it's linked to me, the issuing and verification officer, and they'll see that not only do I exist, but the issuing organisation exists." He pauses. "I know it'll work because I know exactly how it works."

"Sounds all right to me, as long as they'd be okay with letting you through. I don't see why they wouldn't, though."

The Bridge

Michael sighs hopping the documentation would work, tapping the edge of the console nervously with his good arm. Matthew has wondered over closer, near Alex and Arif just smiling with his smug look like he knows some joke that you never will as he waits.

Ownership transfer verified. We apologies for the inconvenience. SS-Troperia, all previous charges to the vessel have been dropped and the security purge has been aborted.

Welcome to Lycarin free space, before we proceed can you please verify the name of the highest ranking official currently present aboard your vessel in addition to the name and rank of the acting communications officer.

Michael looks over bewildered and not actually knowing what the correct answer to the latter would be... He didn't have a rank.

Alex is looking at the message. "Okay, it looks fine to me, why do you seem bothered by that?"

Arif looks confused. He speaks into the console. "Uh, can you please verify what you mean by that statement? Do you mean the highest official in terms of the craft's hierarchy, or the highest official in terms of general hierarchy." This was an important distinction. Greg was captain of the ship, which meant he was the highest official. But Arif was a Major in the Defence Force, which outranked pretty much everyone else.

He also spoke clearly. "The rank of our communications officer is senior communications, second lieutenant."

Chris enters soon after Greg, sitting near him and holding his hand for support. He's more than a bit taken aback by the 180. "What just happened?" His sigh of relief is quite loud, as though echoing through a cave.

Lex smiles as she wakes up and gives Jiko a gentle kiss in his sleep while cuddling with him, completely unaware of how restless his mind had been. She then quietly rises and heads to the bathroom to get ready for the morning, though maybe taking just a bit longer than normal, probably due to how full her own mind is.

Merrick flops down on one of the medical cots, having just spent several hours cleaning the med bay.

Bridge

After treating Michael's arm, Mitch, along with Dominic and Peter, travel to the bridge. "Ah, the security of Lycarin. We really rubbed off on them, didn't we?" Mitch comments, mostly to himself.

Dominic and Mitch both wait for Arif's question to be answered before they respond.

"Should I contact Izzy and tell them we're coming?" Peter asks Dominic.

"Go ahead." Peter takes out his phone and sends a few messages to Izzy through the extranet.

The Bridge

"Senior communications, second lieutenant? Sure but who do I assign, I mean no i'm just a kid who is kinda good with language..." He says degrading himself due to his lack of confidence.

Your vessel is marked as non-military, therefore using your ships or companies acting or preferred ranks and title. This is just a formality for the records you understand. I apologize for the confusion.

The voice transmits back, in a calm and understanding voice. A huge change from the sternness previously given.

Matthew is giving a amused look at Chris. Still a smug and like he knows something he doesn't.
