Ok I think I have a idea, they are lost until they now know there is no Regular Army they will have plans to take over until they see the other places and so come up with another idea propaganda they will riding around the world tossing out propaganda to have others understand them and could even have them a new ally, and will slowly take over untapped land and could get into a fight or two.

I mean, they could try it, but I'll warn you now very few chunks are likely to fall for that sort of blatant propaganda move

Do I need to read the whole history so far to signup in this rp? also are you accepting right now? is there a particular franchise you don't allow?

TheodoreHastings Since: Jan, 2013
#1006: Sep 19th 2021 at 8:05:51 AM

Hey there!

No, you don't need a rundown of this game's history; considering that we've been playing it for six freaking years, you'd be reading for a while! [lol]

Yes, we are open for new signups. There isn't a franchise that's banned, but Meanken (our GM) reserves the right to reject some choices based on being too powerful and can't be properly nerfed, or being a poor fit for Battleworld, or simply being already played by another player.

Feel free to spitball some ideas if you'd like, and we can determine if that'll be a good fit for this game!

Sorry This, I was busy with a party yesterday and diden't have time to give you a review. Just give me a bit I'll do it today.

As for you Kiobi you're welcome to submit whatever you want but I deeply suggest you don't go through my very invloved signup prosess without telling me what it is, don't want you to waste hours doing it just for me to have to give a flat rejection because of something you diden't see/know

Well I know this my be an odd pick, but I was interested in using ponyville as my chunk, they're actually much more powerful that what you would expect some pastel colored ponies to be and I think they could bring something new and unique to the setting, also besides the town I'm planning to include the everfree forest which is a savage land filled with dangerous and powerful monsters.

#1009: Sep 19th 2021 at 9:59:44 AM

It's not the first time I've had someone explain that to me trust me. Ok sure that's fine with me.

As for you This it seems most of the powers amounts to "Knows how to shoot a gun" which is fine by me.

One thing to note is that there's a real chance that someone might not wanna have their PC be stuck as a monkey for hours if they get shot by one of these "Monkey Guns" so it should be understood that the effectivness of these things might be limited in some cases. They have any other weird, non-standard guns I need to know about?

It’s less of a gun and more of a mech on tank wheels A.K.A Jupiter King which has a laser attack from it’s eyes. Also for the monkey gun how about a few minutes?

Ok that image still isen't working and I really need you to fix it because nowhere on your signup does it say anything about mechs and I have actual chunks in this game with legit walking mechs. Unless the wrong image is springing to mind that's a problem considering you diden't list it

Not really. I think we've had perhaps one or two chunks in the entirety of the history of this game with navel forces, and they were never really able to do anything with them

Sorry for the delay, was at work and then occupied by other things. So, I admit, I'm very happy, I don't generally get nearly as much detail as you gave me when I say "Please add what isen't here". It was enough that I was scared for a minute it might be too much, but in the end, only two of your entries really gave me pause.

Firstly, the Big Shiee. Your images stil arn't working for me so I had to throw up my hands and google it myself and I'm sorry but I don't see a way to make this work and still be balanced, it's a little too much. It's gonna have to be removed and if Donald asks why it's not there I have the ready explanation of "The guy in charge thought it was too much and removed it".

Secondly, the Jupiter King, this one I'm not gonna say needs to be removed outright, but based on the image I saw this thing is silly large. I generally have an upper size limit of 20 feet tall for most things that get accepted to the game, so if you're willing to lower him down to roughly that size, I think I'd be willing to allow it.

And I'm not gonna sit here and google all of the other 21 vehicle types you've got listed here, but that rule generally holds for most things that have some kind of combat functionality, so if anything else listed here is on the ultrahuge size on the same scale as Jupiter King, that's probably gonna apply to them too.

Ok I removed the Battleship/tank and shrink down some of the bigger size war machines, just one last time does the monkey gun need to change again or is it good as it is?

I was thinking of possibly signing up as another chunk. Though admittedly I am not really interested in character development or a slow burn this time. Something I can play completely aggressively and hammy, like a setting equivalent of an over the top heel. Don't worry, despite more then likely being a highly aggressive chunk I have no interest in trying to "win" and will only attack players with their ok.

A few ideas I am playing with, as well as to see if there are any particular choices established chunks would like to go against.

Imperial Guard and Sisters of Battle from Warhammer 40K (Space world war 2 army with we got reserve tactics and nuns with guns full on in religious zealotry)

The Dark Purveyors (and Starling family) from Lollipop Chainsaw (Rocking zombie apocalypse)

The Tower of Barbs from Let it Die (The Tower of Babel if it was made from modern day Tokyo and filled with berserk dark souls protagonists, all with a punk aesthetic and mushrooms)

Empire of the Rising Sun from C&C Red Alert 3 (Futuristic parody of Imperial Japan)

Rengkok from Ruiner (Cyber punk Bangkok with Hotline Miami's sense for violence and morality)

Seimei, the Shitennō, and vaious Yokai from Otogi (Yokai filled feudal Japan with Wuxia approach to combat and Noh sensibility to story telling)

Or possibly Travis Strikes Again or a small villain group as a chunkless

How do you kill that which has no life?

I'm familiar with some of these but not all. My only comment is on your first one. I've generally been very reluctant to allow anything from Warhammer 40k for a number of reasons but given your track record I'd possibly be willing to make an exception for you. Others are free to chime in with their own comments.

@Neet: Don't know if anyone else plans to share their thoughts (in this thread, at least), but here's my brief notions of each of your ideas:

  • WH40K: Although you already discussed a few potential issues with the WH40K folks with me when you mentioned some of these ideas to me a little while back, I think you could probably pull it off. Granted, I don't know much about the setting, so I can't really judge it well.
  • Lolipop Chainsaw: Only issue I see there is that people may not want zombies infesting their chunks, since if they do getting rid of the zombos would probably become an all-consuming imperative. That said, a zombie outbreak in some part of Manhattan that then has to be quarantined could be interesting.
  • Let It Die: I haven't read enough about the setting to be sure, but the issue I see with this one is that I don't know why most people would want to go to or otherwise interact with the Tower. Isn't it just a big roguelike dungeon sorta thing?
  • C&C: Could be cool, but are there many named characters or would it be mostly mooks who you have to invent personalities for upon interaction with other parties?
  • Ruiner: Could be interesting. Reminds me of how I played Neo-Saitama from Ninja Slayer back in Battleworld 1.0. Reading up on it, might have good synergy with the chunkless group I'm planning on bringing in sooner rather than later. Hadn't heard of the game before now, but will probably check it out.
  • Otogi: Also hadn't heard of this one, but now wish I had an Xbox so I could play it. Would be pretty cool, especially since we have so many characters from Japan and two Japanese chunks.
  • Travis Strikes Again: Hey, I'd surely be up for more NMH-related shenanigans.
  • A Small Villain Group is probably also what I'm going to sign up as a chunkless once I get SEES folded into a chunk, so I'd be interested to see what ideas you have in that regard.

Edit: I should add that we have a relative shortage of chunks at the moment, so I think the better idea would be to sign up as a chunk, but if a chunkless idea is more compelling, go for it!

Edit 2: I just thought of another, potentially even better idea for a chunkless, so please don't feel you necessarily should go for Ruiner because of my possible choice, if that was going to influence your decision.

After hemming and hawing about it for who knows how long, I'm gonna finally try to throw my hat into this ring. So, without further ado...

MAIN CHARACTER

    open/close all folders
    Angel of Light

Name: Angel of Light

Age: Timeless

Appearance: Be not afraid!

Personality: The Angel is a bit flighty and haughty, and isn't afraid to let others know if he's offended, but despite his habit of coming across as condescending or patronizing of humans, he firmly believes in doing the right thing and aiding humanity as a whole.

Powers:

Flight - The Angel can go about as fast as a speeding car, thus leaving him able to keep up with most mobile foes, though things like airplanes and the like will leave him in the dust.

Magic Spells:

Radiant Fire: A large fireball is sent towards the target, and empowers the Angel's blade with fire.

Penitent Ice: A wave of icicles travels along the ground, and empowers the Angel's blade with ice.

Wrothful Starfire: A focused rain of hail-sized comets (four inches in diameter, to be precise) comes down from the sky at a speed of a struck baseball (up to 50 mph) to batter foes.

Blessed Respite: A healing wave of energy travels through the target, be it the Angel or someone else.

Retributive Aura: The Angel levitates upwards and becomes surrounded in an electrifying sphere, shocking anyone nearby and empowering the Angel's blade with lightning.

Resplendent Light: The Angel gathers power within themselves before unleashing it in a blast of holy light, which empowers the blade with the same light.

Equipment:

Angel's Bow - The Angel's primary weapon of choice when airborne and when needed to strike quickly. He is able to fire arrows in rapid succession, and is even able to load up to three arrows to shoot simultaneously.

Sword of the Master - The Angel's weapon when he is on the ground, or otherwise needs to fight something substantially more powerful than the bow could handle. As this sword belonged to his Master before being entrusted to him, this is what enables the Angel to use their magical spells.

Jewels of the Champions - A collection of six brilliant and shining jewels, each with the mark of their respective Champion. With power focused into them, the Angel can speak to whoever is on the other end, and even see what is going on around them.

Backstory: As the right hand of the Lord of Light, the Angel worked tirelessly alongside his Master to free their world from the dark clutches of Tanzra the Adversary. However, with that victory accomplished, said Master has gone into a well deserved slumber, leaving the Angel in charge of the Sky Palace, and the Six Champions that came to reside with him.

SUPPORTING CAST

    Philotas

Name: Philotas

Age: 40s

Appearance: King of Fillmore

Personality: A brash but just warrior, who believes in everyone pulling their respective weight for the good of all.

Powers:

Super Strength - Given his sheer might and the unique construction of his weapon, Philotas is able to cleave boulders in two with a single swing. Additionally, he can swing the axe to slam the ground and rupture the earth to make a small-scale quake, though performing such a feat requires more time and effort on his part.

Equipment: Battle Axe

Backstory: A long time ago, he was the king of the land of Fillmore, who came to everyone's aid time and time again. While beloved by his people, this devotion came at a price, as when he was absent, they were unable to fend for themselves and were subsequently slaughtered wholesale by the forces of Tanzra. As for Philotas himself, he was forced into a deep slumber, and upon his awakening, he cast aside the chains of commanding and took up a new cause, becoming the first Champion of the Lord of Light.

    Daniella

Name: Daniella

Age: 20s

Appearance: Warden of Bloodpool

Personality: A stern but kindhearted woman who won't hesitate to stand up for what's right, even if it puts her in harm's way.

Powers:

Lightning Magic - As a mage, Daniella can call upon the elements to strike multiple targets with magical bolts of lightning, being able to strike up to five targets at once (though doing so will require more charge time).

Equipment: Staff of Lightning

Backstory: As the sole survivor of a raid on the people of Bloodpool, Daniella found a home in the rebuilt city after the Lord of Light reclaimed the land. While she wanted to do right by her home, her fear of the monster that had laid low her fellows kept her at bay, but through the help of her countrymen and the Angel, Daniella overcame her fear and stood against the hordes, earning her place as the second Champion.

    Alonso

Name: Alonso

Age: 30s

Appearance: Warrior of Kasandora

Personality: A cocksure sharpshooter, quick to show off but just as quick to jump in and dispel an argument or help out someone outmatched in a fight.

Powers:

Superior Marksmanship - Thanks to his years of experience, Alonso is able to hit foes with pinpoint accuracy, though the time to do so increases the further he is from the target.

Equipment: Revolver (holds six bullets)

Backstory: Once a simple mercenary for hire, Alonso saw his family taken from him by a gilded demon, and since that day he tracked it and did whatever he could to keep on its tail. His search led him to Kasandora, a desert city, and after settling in as their gun for hire, he found his mark at last. While Alonso himself let the Lord of Light do the honors in slaying the fiend, his need for vengeance was put to rest, and he found a new adventure in being the third Champion.

    Migrana

Name: Migrana

Age: 40s

Appearance: Matriarch of Aitos

Personality: A proud and fierce swordswoman, who cares greatly for her allies and charges and would go to any lengths to defend and fight for them.

Powers:

Aitok Style Swordplay - As an expert swordswoman, Migrana is able to strike at blinding speeds, often performing one-stroke kills with her blade. This somewhat extents to her running speed, as she can keep up with a galloping horse with no problems.

Equipment: Aitok Katana

Backstory: As the former chieftain of Aitos, Migrana and her people were under siege by demons, and seeing no other option to take, she laid down her life in hopes it would spare her people. Naturally, the devils ignored their end of the bargain and went on to eradicate the rest of the Aitok, leaving her as a restless spirit roaming the land as her body was taken and used to empower the demons. Through the efforts of the new Aitok, body and spirit were reunited, and Migrana took sword in hand once again as the fourth Champion.

    Shemaal

Name: Shemaal

Age: 30s

Appearance: Patron of Marahna

Personality: A kindhearted and calm man who believes in peace, compassion, and unity of man to achieve great things.

Powers:

Wind Magic - Wielding the wind itself, Shemaal can call forth its might to disrupt and attack his foes, trapping them in cyclones and using its biting power to cut into them, or else send them flying away or keep them in place so others can attack. Unlike Daniella, Shemaal can only focus this power on one opponent at a time, but the power difference makes up for the vulnerability on most occasions.

Equipment: Staff of Wind

Backstory: In the absence of the Lord of Light, mankind did whatever they could to survive, which included new faiths to follow and rites to practice. One such group was the Consecrate Green, a group which preached the powers of the earth and advocated man to help each other given that there was no God willing to do so. When the Lord of Light and his Angel came to Marahna, Shemaal greeted them as neighbors and friends despite being of a different creed, which meant that when the truth of the Consecrate Green being a farce controlled by demons was revealed, it was a logical step for him to break away from the facade to step into the role of the fifth Champion.

    Taia

Name: Taia

Age: Unknown (appears to be in her late teens or early 20s)

Appearance: Cavalier of Northwall

Personality: Curious and adventurous, wanting to learn and experience new things and make new friends and memories.

Powers:

Ice Blessing - As one last gift to her before his rest, the Master saw fit to bless her with the power of ice, as a tribute to her fallen friend. Thus, Taia's arrows can freeze opponents, and if she gets the time to charge up, she can fire an arrow shot that carries with it the force and ferocity of the Artic Wyvern itself, able to pierce metal and leave behind a burst of ice that freezes anything close by, up to 8 feet.

Equipment: Ice Bow

Backstory: As a young and not entirely human girl, Taia was chased out of an early iteration of Northwall, and came to find friendship and solace in the company of one of Tanzra's dark Champions, the Artic Wyvern. In the absence of a foe to fight, the beast was able to act as it wished, and upon it choosing to nurture Taia, the two formed a bond, with her dubbing him 'Frost'. Upon the return of the Lord of Light and a new generation of Northwall men, however, the will of Frost's dark master gradually overtook him and turned him into the devil he was made to be, with the Lord of Light descending to personally put him out of his misery. Despite the loss of her friend, Taia swore to honor his memory, and made her vow to serve as the sixth Champion.

CHUNK NAME

    Sky Palace

Name of the World: Sky Palace

Appearance: A palace fit for a god (and friends)

Description: As the name implies, this is a floating palace that soars through the skies, able to descend and ascend at the will of its commander, the Angel of Light. Additionally, it is equipped with the power to affect whatever land it comes across (see below). As should be expected, actually landing the thing is not an easy task, so as a safety feature for both itself and anything it might interact with, the Sky Palace can only 'dock' on empty land or a space otherwise able to handle it touching down

Contents/Locations: While once it merely housed the Lord of Light and the Angel, it has since expanded to accommodate the Champions and whatever guests they may choose to entertain, be they human or beast.

Specialties: As mentioned above, the Sky Palace is capable of affecting the land it travels to in a myriad of different ways, though it requires charge and recharge time to perform these acts. Given that the Sky Palace's true Master is at rest, the Sky Palace itself has seen its capabilities diminished, so while still potent, they aren't quite the miracles they once were.

Divine Lightning: A thunderstorm is generated beneath the Palace, with lightning aplenty to strike whatever is in range. Unlike Daniella's similar feat, this creates a self-sustaining field that lasts until turned off or another miracle is needed.

Soothing Rains: Torrents of water are released, with the pressure and duration varying on need and how much water is available.

Glorious Sunlight: Light and heat come down from the palace, though with the limitations placed on the Sky Palace, it can only truly be lethal at close range, as its power diminishes the further the light travels.

Miraculous Wind: Powerful winds are generated from beneath the palace to targets of its choosing, acting as a level of wind control above Shemaal's own.

Restless Earth: A surge of power hits the earth beneath the palace to create shockwaves and tremors in the surrounding area, acting as a magnitude above what Philotas is capable of creating.

Population: Seven (technically nine, but the Master is asleep and Frost's reclaimed spirit is incorporeal)
