Am I the only one found a bit jarring how the chapter had 3 or 4 shots of Fuegoleon in his coma bed with no signs of waking up, only to have him fully awakened by the door at the end?

For a second there I was confused because I thought he had turned into an elf, but was somehow able to overcome it like Yuno.

None of the Vermillions seem to have changed. Ditto for the Silvas.

Given they're royalty, it makes sense.

What does royalty have to do with anything?

The Elves hate royalty quite a bit. Sure they hate humans in general, but Royalty seems to be where their hatred really shines.

Honestly, I've always found the division of royalty and nobility in this series confusing. Either I just didn't pay enough attention, or it wasn't explained very well. I can believe either.

From what I understand the main difference is some nobility is related to the King and thus part of Royalty via bloodlines, while the rest are otherwise smug jerks because they are run of the mill nobility. This pretty small difference seems to determine what nobles might be Elves reincarnated.

Even then their all the same level of smug pricks so its not like there's much of a major difference.

The only noble family that averts being a bigoted prick is the Vermillion family.

Vermilion are also of Royal Bloodline of the three seen if we include the King.

Yeah Royalty is part of the Royal Family. They are related to the King. We know that both House Silva and House Vermilion are related to the King and thus part of the Royal Family.

The rest of the Nobles are just that Nobles.

Does that make them immune though? I thought that possessing the bodies of the royal family would be the sweetest vengeance for the Elves…

Well the spell is based on reincarnation.

So logically it should be completely random who gets an elf soul or not.

Meaning a couple members of the royal families should be elves.

I don't think it works that way...after all the elves despise the royals so much, they'll probably not reincarnate into them through the spell.

But they also despise the nobles who are like only one slight step below the royals.

Plus they have made it very much clear (and you can't exaggerate this) that they despise the citizens of the Clover Kingdom & humanity in general yet their still possessing humans in the end.

Though this is all assumptions because we don't know the exact mechanics of how the spell works. Even then the spirits being implanted into specific bodies as a premeditated action sounds weird since this all takes place centuries after the genocide & Licht cast it as a desperate last resort. It being completely randomized makes sense.

It's possible the Bloodline of the Royal Family is just incompatible with the reincarnation.

kinda funny Langris's elf reincarnation seems to be as big a dick as the original

Latry, like Patry, was able to emerge a little earlier. He could become about as big a boss fight as Raia.

I thought Finral would turn out to be an elf as well, probably because both Gauche and Marie were, but none of the royals were. The elves would be more compatible with some families than others. Not the case for Finral.

That's fine, Finral should be useful when Valtos reveals he isn't actually sorry and was spying for Diamond this whole time. I hope Diamond is in chaos too. It's plausible, given Fana.

I'm banking either Fuegoleon or Mereo will be the next Wizard King

Mereo would be a nice contrast to the goody-two-shoes Julius.

While I doubt it will happen, I kind of want Yami to be chosen as the next Wizard King. If only to see his reaction. He seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't actually want the job.

I strongly, strongly doubt they'll remove him from the Black Bulls. Also, as a foreigner, the political ramifications would be huge.

Mereo would never want the job, but except for Fuegoleon (maybe), she's the strongest person and a surprisingly excellent leader.

Heh, now I want to see it happen even more even if it's even less likely for that reason.

How pissed would you be if Julius somehow came back to life at the end of all this?
