Wellp, since it was free to try and Splatoon has helped me like shooters a bit more, I gave this a shot on my Switch.
Upon discovering that I can play this as a third person shooter instead, I've become more accustomed to it.
Haven't fought players yet, just bots. But I've been improving, I think, and been actually enjoying it, much to my surprise. Splatoon still has better controls by virtue of a well implemented gyroscope function, but this is still servicable. If there are any recommended control setting tweaks for consoles, I'd like to hear.
And it probably doesn't come as a surprise that I've been playing as Pip.
Even though my knowledge of Team Fortress 2 is mostly second hand and everything I know about Overwatch is completely through internet osmosis, this is feeling kind of like "Overwatch but with more varied character cast and no starting fee (which is good in this case)" and Pip I would describe as a "Medic that multiclassed into Demoman."

Now all that is needed is Aurora Furia in the kitchen.
So, the latest Nintendo Minute talked about Dredge and the event blah blah oh and GYRO AIMING COMING TO PALADINS, EXPECTED AROUND NOVEMBER.
The real question is, will it be as good as Nintendo's own gyro aiming (Splatoon, Zelda, etc) or at the very least be servicable and allow for better aiming than stick aiming?
So, gyro aiming was released for the Switch version, and by now all versions are in Battle Pass 3. Neat rewards.
My opinion on the aiming so far? It doesn't feel as nice as Splatoon, probably because even on the highest setting it feels a tad slow, maybe? Still a big improvement to precision aiming.
In other news, cross platform progression and play for Smite and Paladins is being talked about between all platforms!
... Except PS 4 is ommitted.
Teaser of the upcoming champion.
Next year's upcoming stuff.

"Maybe a few more spikes..."
Gotta love how they acknowledge their community.
I was wondering what ThunderBrush looked like myself.
Big new patch coming: The release of Imani, the removal of a talent from every character and a rebalance accordingly, removal of the category restrictions to in-match items, and the removal of all instances like cauterize, wrecker, reveal, and crowd control reduction from Champion loadout cards.
...and sadly, they're making the login bonuses much less valuable as the Deal of the Day is now only purchasable with real money instead of Crystals.
...he looks eg-fucking-actly like a Spess Mehreen.
- Hi-Rez: Gives Moji's "Toot" another nerf to make her less of an off-healer
- Also Hi-Rez: Changes "Snack Attack" so Moji can be an off-healer
Still makes more sense than giving the always-feared Makoa inherent CC immunity on his ultimate @_@
Here was Champions of the Female Persuasion of the Realm for International Women's Day.
Vora's out.
Getting Spider-Man vibes from that grapple ability... Looks fun
I missed the part where that's my problem.Who wants to play as a big bug monster?
On a much worse note, the voice actor for Barik and Makoa has passed away.
Octavia's plan is actually not just Five Rounds Rapid
Been playing with Ying and I think she's my favorite Support Champion. It's really fun to constantly lay down illusions to send on bombing runs while shooting people.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
