So is this a joke or something or are we actually getting an Overlord crossover with Konosuba and Re Zero?

I'm looking forward to Tanya meeting Ainz. As two former businessmen in new bodies they might get along...
Doubt it. Ainz was a wage slave salary worker. Tanya was a ruthless lolbertarian Austrian School fanboy HR manager. Tanya would remind Ainz of every asshole boss he ever had to work with.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWell the OST for that fight has to be amazing.
Even if Tanya is pretty far below Ainz in firepower, she's got preeetty good mobility and range.

Ran into this video and it kinda backs my claim that Overlord could work as a deconstruction
If you're that hungry for a "deconstruction", then might I recommend Goblin Slayer to you?
I've heard of and seen some of the 'edge' it has. I might check it, my statement is merely is that Overlord is gift wrapped to be a deconstruction.
Deconstruction needs some actual thought put into it. Gobbos have none of that whatsoever.
GS is built on the unfortunate implications of an Adventure-Friendly World akin to most tabletop game settings to the point that the gods treat the world as a tabletop game with dice rolls and everything.
It takes a look at the economics and politics that would lead to a world where monsters threaten the populace frequently enough that people can make a living by handling said threats, as well as the impact said attacks would have on a society's progress.
But it's also disingenuous to point at GS for deconstruction since it's not an isekai story. If one wants a deconstruction of the isekai genre specifically, one can look at Re: Zero instead.

Disgusted, but not surprisedRe Zero even has What Ifs built entirely around Subaru embracing a Seven Deadly Sin at a certain moment in the story.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Kumo Desu Ga is more of a deconstruction of isekai than Overlord, but it's kind of cheating.
The economics aren't anything new. The gobs just brings in hamfisted edgyrapeness while failing to actually account for any possible consequences of it - failing at exactly what a deconstruction is supposed to be doing.
The consequence of goblin raids is a state of Medieval Stasis.
Disgusted, but not surprisedBecause everyone knows that war never drove technological advancement.
Well it does take place in the boonies.
No one gives a fuck about the boonies especially when ya got demon lords popping up everyday to worry about.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Except it's not a war. It's repeated attacks on poor population centers which are ignored by higher-ups in favor of even greater threats.
Disgusted, but not surprisedAlso Kumo Desu Ga is awesome, but I wouldn't pin it with a deconstruction badge either. It's an exploration of new space in the reincarny genre (well, was new, but there has been a flood of "reincarnated as something weird" premises too), not taking a dig at the established structure.
I was thinking more about the other reincarnators and their relationships when I said that, but yes, it's not really a deconstruction either. Just a perspective flip where the villain's group has the sympathetic POV, which kind of tears apart the assumed moral characters of both groups.

New mini trailer....
Ahh, finally watching Season 3. This shit is still good stuff.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.So I binged the first three seasons over a couple of days. Good stuff.
I'm thinking about reading the light novels, how many are there and generally how long are they, if you don't mind me asking?
Twelve, I think? They're alright. There's a lot of detail in them that the anime skipped over or seemingly intentionally left out. Ainz is an evil, evil bastard and his minions are worse.
They're not terribly long or short.

13, and I think 8 were translated by Yen Press.
The LN goes into a lot more detail about the thought processes of the characters. And it's not pretty. The LN makes no bones about the fact that Momonga and his den of monsters are, well, monsters. Sure they play nice with each other, but they play the Card-Carrying Villain horrifically straight (especially Demiurge).

Disgusted, but not surprised
That was an excellent end to the season. I wonder if they're going to do season 4 or not. R.I.P. Gazef Stronoff. :'(
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!
