For Honor!

It can be possibly both actually. The first Cataclysm lore wise sparked centuries long wars between the factions generally over resources cause the world was so fucked. They only collectively started seeking peace after Apollyon, ironically enough.

A second Cataclysm could very well do the same and another faction invading across the Gobi Desert would make things even worse.

This honestly does make me wonder if they ever expand how big the world is and make new factions like Egyptian warriors, or Indian warriors, or Native warriors, and ectera just how are those parts of the world fairing?

Who knows. With how fucked the world got after the earthquake all sorts of civilizations that should have either never encountered one another or who weren't supposed to encounter each other for centuries are all clashing.

So Hitokiri literally has a Noh Mask as one of their options for masks.

Hitokiri's theme to me also sounds like its straight out of Darkest Dungeon which I love.

I wonder how the Samurai manage to work with the Hitokiri, if they even can. Sakura's backstory really gets across how disturbed they are.

She showed up one day, sat nearby them, and no one had the guts to ask her if she could leave because she was uninvited.

She likely scares the shit out of them but they like having her as its better to pit her and the other Hatakri against their enemies than have them against them.

Although the Chosen/Samurai do have criminals amongst them and infight a lot judging by the campaign so she likely will easily turn on them given a criminal to chase.

Also, I can't exactly tell as it could just be the audio not translating well on the livestream but it sounds like both genders of Hitokiri have wispy voices similar to Sakura's voice in the cinematic. I personally love this but I know some people will dislike it because MUH HISTORICAL ACCURACY IN A VERY HISTORICALLY INACCURATE GAME.

I like how the map looks but I fear that we'll never see it much if at all because the For Honor community has an unhealthy obsession with Dominion. Although I hear part of the reason why is because Dominion gives the best rewards.

Here is Sakura's/Hitokiri's faceoff music which will likely be what we in the main menu in Season 10 but if not then... This is her full OST which definitely highlights how disturbed Sakura is and definetely gives me a Japanese Horror/Darkest Dungeon vibe.

Her move set is interesting to me, super aggressive heavy is definitely a playstyle I wanted. Vortiger's moveset didn't quite for fill that want for me.

Force Honor, which is to say For Honor suddenly now has lightsaber effects and sounds on its weapons.

The Viking Hammer boi/girlo has been teased.◊ So far its not much but I am a bit hyped to see more of them nevertheless.

Of course the ever pleasant For Honor community is exploding due to stupidity over the fur armor but I just want my hammery boi/girlo.

So Jormun's moveset revolves around knocking people out of stamina, usually via punching them in the nuts, so you can do a leaping smash of their nuts with your hammer.

Yeah...hammer boi/girlo doesn't play.

-Two new heroes

-NEW ARMOUR

They also mention something about a "storyline", but I can't say much about that past the word itself.
