Dark Souls III

i guess you could think of this as a "best of" of all the souls games?

please let this be the best game.

I feel like it could easily be the best, but also easily be the worst if it feels too samey. Like Souls is getting a tad stale.

i don't disagree, we've had a bit of an oversaturation in the last few years. at least this is supposed to be the final game.

I heard it's not actually, just that it's a big turn for the franchise.

If anything I'd like to see them return to King's Field and change the formula a bit.

Honestly I'd like to see From Software make another Armored Core already.

I do miss my mecha games.

The shortbow thing makes me nervous, though. Bow finishers are already annoying in DS 2, I hope this doesn't make them too much worse.

Unless the next souls is in a Japanese-inspired setting, now that would liven things up.

i'm fine with sci-fi dark souls too. in fact i'm kinda surprised somebody else hasn't already made a game like that.

Deep Down is supposedly supposed to be like that.

From what little I know of Deep Down, I get the impression it's got an Assassin's Creed style setup where the game takes place in some kind of simulation, rather than the gameplay itself being scifi.

I am right on board for a Space Opera Souls game though, that would be amazing.

Sadly there are no plans to release that game outside Japan at the moment, goddamnit Capcom...

So, this game might be a prequel. Maybe the final boss is Gwyn before he got burnt out. Heh.

Well, depends when exactly it's set, I suppose. Lordran had been in ruins for a long time before the events of Dark Souls, so there's still time for it to be After the End of the Age of Fire.

Making a bird person has always been the objective in any of the Souls games.

Yep, looks like they're taking some things from BB. Too bad it's back to DS 1 backstabs though, RIP PVP.

Although some people have been saying it's DES backstabs, which would be at least a little better - much harder to pull off and all that.

If Miyazaki wasn't directing this, all the people would be like "GREAT EVERY ENEMY WAS SOME BIG DUDE IN ARMOR THANKS OBAMA"

And the jumping and sidestepping and stuff.

I'm excited.

Armored Souls would be hype as hell, not even gonna lie. I hope that's what comes next cause I could see that being pretty dank tbh.
