I love that they introduced Lobo by having him howl like a wolf. That was a nice touch.
Lobo is amazing.
The Main Man making a Urinetown reference is not something I ever expected, but it works perfectly.
Also the Zod character focus here was great. Lyta's really losing it
My AO3all in all, i'd say season 2 is off to an even stronger start than season one.
I will say, with Lobo, Brainy, Zod, and Doomsday, they do have a lot to juggle, villain-wise.
True, but I think they're managing it so far. It helps that Doomsday and Lobo have simple motives.
My AO3Lobo was a little annoying at times, but still entertaining. Lyta is going off the deep end, seriously.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI also loved the 'Kryptonian exceptionalism' line they put in the season opener, too. A very succinct way to sum up Zod's character.
I really like how they do Brainiac's voice, its a nice way to make it clear that he's sort of unnatural while avoiding a tired more classic example of emotionless robot speech patterns.
What did Nyssa find out that shocked her so much? Didn't quite get this.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI think the point was that the audience won't find out until she tells someone else about what she saw. Presumably its some nefarious plan by Dru-Zod.
It's going to be so fun when Seg catches up with everyone.
My AO3...And wow, Dru Zod took another level in dickery. Damn, I wonder if Seg is actually going to show some effects of reconditioning
My AO3He and Lyta can really go to hell.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianGiven that it seems like Lyta was brainwashed I think I'll give her a bit more leeway.
My AO3Where did you get that?
Seg specifically searched for footage of her being brainwashed and found none, which confirmed his worst fear that she willingly went along with it all.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI think you missed the part after that. Seg can't find the files, but then he scans the brain of the guy who was doing the reconditioning and sees Lyta in his memories. Dru-Zod doesn't even deny doing it.
Brainy guiding Sig like that really reminded me of Person of Interest. It was a nice bit, and I also really liked Jax's laser eye. Its very 90s, but in a good way.
I think Krypton is now my new favorite superhero show.
Such a great quality, in almost every way!
And the promo for next week looks even better. Zod, Brainiac, Doomsday AND Lobo, all at once? Fuck yeah!
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianHoly shit that was an episode. I think Brainiac didn't understand Dru, or was purposely being deceptive. Seg showed that Brainiac didn't fully understand emotions, and I also don't think Brainiac could have logically thought that Seg was capable of beating Zod in a fight.
My AO3Also we were right, but the moment Cor-Vex was renamed Jor-El was glorious.
My AO3It was indeed.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyProbably the most sympathetic version of Doomsday, that one. Was SO hoping it would crush that asshole El-ancestor scientist.....
And Brainiac, goddamn it....poor Nyssa.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI seriously love how all the villains on this show are done. Brainiac is said to be without emotion, and this version shows it. He doesn't get angry, he just carries out his plans.
My AO3I should've made a Doublemint gum joke earlier, about Lyta's situation.
Also, holy shit this version of Doomsday is terrifying in a way the comics version rarely is anymore.
EDIT-Also, also, HOLY SHIT Nyssa. What is it the young kids say these days? "Inject this scene into my veins?" Cause inject this scene into my fucking veins.

We'll see how things are when Lyta and Seg see each other again. Because man, is Seg going to be unhappy with the new regime and how they keep slinging his name all over the place.
