I don't think that's what her Froppy is about. It's a portmanteau between frog and Keroppi.
I guess jokes has to be marked as such around here, huh?
But it was a nice coincidence though. ...
That aside, there's something that I've been wondering about regarding villains and their reputations.
If a villain manages to achieve something completely horrifying (Like wiping out 97% of a country's pro-heroes in a short period of time), would it be global news or would the government of that country keep this "creature" under wraps out of personal fear for being potentially responsible for more pro-hero deaths by calling in reinforcements from other countries and hopefully contain the villain themselves by their own countermeasures while keeping it a private affair?
This is only the starter question, but what would be the most logical response in this kind of situation?
Mary and Maria are pretty good female Bible names, but they're just names, there's nothing offensive about using them. For hero names specifically, not using them is probably more because there aren't any heroes who's hero names are just western/foreign first names (that I know of anyway) than because of fear of offending people.
I'd guess a military response might be more likely than calling in more more heroes, since there doesn't seem to be much info about international hero cooperation.
It can be Romanized in latin letters (as it was when the name was revealed) to make it not ambiguous and you can also tell just by looking at her what it's supposed to be referencing.

Well, if you find "Maria" weird in English, imagine in Italy, given that Maria is a common Italian name (it's the equivalent of Mary), although I think the hero name originates from the Latin name, which is identical. However, aside a bit of narm (is like an heroine whose name is "Sarah"), I have no problem with the name since I immediately got where it originates.
Vine, I'd say, it's a bit less creative but I don't dislike it, though I don't get why it suddenly changed

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upMaria is one of the most common names in the world, so it's hard to call it "sacrilegious". Sugar Man might be a reference to a certain musician and the award-winning documentary made about him.
Hey, I just tossed with possible reasons for Ibara in-verse for changing her name like that, not personal reasons out here.
Raises a interesting question though... so the students can change their hero names whenever they like?
I thought the naming class was pretty "serious business" and unchangeable...
None of those names were official. Midnight "vetoed" some of them but in context that just meant her saying it's not a good idea; they could have completely ignored her if they wanted to.
Though I guess they've become somewhat official sense getting their provisional licenses, but I wouldn't be surprised if they could still change it when they get their full licenses.

Midnight warned them to be careful because they might get stuck with their initial names even if they changed their minds later.
Midnight vetoing Alien Queen for copyright reasons when Vantablack got through is dumb
mina is alien queen forever in my heart
Heart of StoneI'd have to go check, but wasn't that more of "You mean like Alien Alien Queen? Probably not good imagery" than "Nope, copyright"
That's how I remembered it too, she was like "What, you want to be associated with that acid bleeding monster!" or something like that.
I guess you it’s recommended that you don’t name yourself after villains like Jason or Norman Bates.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, that'd scare minor vilains at least.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. There's a guy running around calling himself "Death Arms."
It should be noted that it is all based on Midnight recommendations which are based on her personal opinion.
I assume it varies.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So Shinso mentions that can't talk to people using microphone, loudspeaker, etc. probably because it turns his voice into an electronic signal. Which I interpret to mean that because it's not really his voice, his Quirk doesn't register anyone who responds to it, as responding to him.
It's an interesting touch, and it makes me curious if Koda's is the same or not. It doesn't have to be, since they are different Quirks after all, but I don't think I've heard an explanation like that before.
Koda's mask must be a speaker or voice amplifier, but are there ways of doing that without electronics?
Edited by LSBK on Sep 23rd 2018 at 3:30:45 AM
Shinsou can still brainwash people after his voice has passed through his mask, I assume Kouda's is the same.
Heart of StoneBut Shinso's mask specifically isn't using electronics (at least not for the voice changing and projection). I'm wondering if Koda's does or doesn't.
Edited by LSBK on Sep 23rd 2018 at 3:39:04 AM
Do you think he knows when his brainwashing works or just assumes so based on his target's reaction?
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Considering he said he could get knocked out if he does too much at once he most likely can feel it.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Shinsho's mask is magic.
Secret SignatureWell, on the name front...most of them tend to have pretty basic names. Invisible Girl, Sugar Man, Creaty, Pinky, King Explosion Murder...Vine kinda makes sense there.

Naming yourself after your Quirk is only fine if it has a cool name. Overhaul gets a pass, Jirou does not.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.
Yeah, Tsuyu is openly pursuing a cute and friendly image. "Froppy" is perfect.
