The Fair

Jack leaned against the wall, looking at his scroll. "Personally, I feel we should ditch the blindfold, get some bring pink ribbon and use that instead, ya know? Big bow over where your eyes are, like a present!" He had given up on trying calm Lucas down and was seeing how freaked out he could get the Hunter. He clicked send. Well, hopefully the guy would chill. Hed been acting weirdly that morning, something about a lens, meh. He didn't care. He held some coffee in his off hand, he had gotten kicked out of the maid cafe due to getting into an argument with a manager over whether or not he could fiddle around with a robotic arm that doubled as a mortar wheil waiting for his fold...Oh well.

He sent out a group message. Haunted dorm. Any1 interested?

Roof meeting

As he arrived on the rooftop, the Highlander took a moment to collect himself before saying "Look, before you an' the lass who wants tae speak wi' you, I need tae let you ken that I'm nae doin' any o' this tae hurt you or anythin'. That said, I suppose it's time you two got tae speak wi' each other"

Alright, go ahead an' take over. Dinnae ken how she's goin' tae react to all o' this, so be prepared for anythin'.

Festival Day

Remus was simply walking down the streets, taking enjoyment in his casual little stroll. A festive day, isn't this? He smiled a bit as he stopped at one of the stalls, inspecting a bit.

Hospital

Ieria nodded as she hugged her boyfriend and teammate, a worried smile still etched on her face.

Deep inside her mind, she could swear she heard something laugh...

Novus 6

Ieria smiled as she hugged her adopted sisters, only for her smile to drop somewhat as she saw the scales on Beth's neck. "I see...and you just discovered these, Beth? ...So you are a faunus like me, Beth?" Her smile perked up again as she hugged the younger sister.

Hospital

Medus' comforting smile shifted to a smirk. "Oh yeah, one more thing. Orochi, you damn Grimm. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you can still hear what's happening since Ieria drew on so much of your power. Don't get comfortable you over-sized garden snake. I'm one of your reapers."

Novus 4

Alexia let out an almost-hopeless sigh. She supposed she saw that coming. Of course her walk was bad.

She smiled self-mockingly. "Sassy. Me."

She shook her head and smiled more naturally, if a little nervous. "I'll try. I've said I'd do it, so I will."

Alexia tried for another walk. True enough, her head was held up and she wasn't shaking...however she was stiff. Far too stiff. Rigid. Her arms barely moved, fists tightly clenched. And the expression on her face? Like a prisoner on death row.

Novus 5

Alexia frowned, an eyebrow arching up. "What are you talking about, Sir Glen? There's no one else here."

She wasn't upset, not really. Simply confused.

....I'm scared, Glen. I don't know what to do...I...I've never been scared before.

It seems Erin had frozen up. Glen could feel her fear and indecision. She was panicking.

Novus 6

Carol shook her head at Ieria's question. "We're actually not sure. I mean, they appeared about a week ago, then vanished after a day..."

"And now they're back." continued Beth, sighing. "I wouldn't mind being a faunus, it would be really cool...but they keep popping up randomly...and the spikes...and fangs. Mama says, well, she says they look dragonic to her."

Meanwhile, Alexia forced herself to take a calming breath. She could do this, she really could...

"A-alright. My routine. Worked so hard to get it right. Okay, okay, I'm fine now. Thank you, Ai. And ummm....don't let me keep you from your job. I'm, er, I'm going to do something before the pageant."

....She was going to find her boyfriend. Probably not the best source of moral support, but her beloved would probably slap the stupid out of her. She needed to keep her head on the game.

She pulled out her Scroll and called him.

"Al? Where are you right now, beloved?"

Sometime Later: Meidos

Carol approached Lucas's chair from behind, leaned down and kissed him on the forehead. "Hi."

She then walked around his table and sat on the seat opposite his.

"Interesting choice of locale." she said, looking at the maids/waitresses serving customers.

She grinned. "Fair warning, if one of them calls you "Master", I'll punch her in the face. So, what's up?"

Meanwhile, Mia looked appreciatively at the very same locale.

....Nice view. Very nice. In fact, I'm worried that I've accidentally crossed over and went to heaven. Ohhh...Charisse, look at that redhead. Umf, nice butt.

Novus 4

"Now you just look like some kind of weird robot." Charisse stated bluntly, taking the pair of heels she had been stumbling in off. She had two days to learn how to use these blasted things.

"You've gotta act natural! Imagine you're just doing this for Alfred... Or maybe that the crowd is in their underwear.. or maybe that everyone in the crowd is Alfred in his underwear, I don't know."

Novus 6

Mia, do you have to be thinking about that right now?!

Mia's thoughts had bled out onto Charisse's face, leaving her with a slightly perverted expression on a blushing background.

The goat girl was dressed in a Valoran maid outfit, one much fancier and a bit more revealing than the clothing she usually wore. Being as muscular as she was, she looked rather out of place.

Truly horrifying.

"Well?" came a voice from behind her.

She felt a sharp nudge in her side. It was her boss, telling her to go serve the customers. Charisse nodded nervously.

She had been putting off greeting Lucas for the time being. She wasn't nervous about it, since he couldn't see her in this ridiculous get up, but she still didn't want to serve someone she knew.. but now she had to.

Holding the serving plate flush against her chest, as she had been taught, she walked over to Carol and Lucas, then stood by their table.

"H-Hello, Masters. My name is Chari and it is my pleasure to serve you today~."

Her blush clearly showed just how embarrassed she was by all this.

With one hand, she pulled up her skirt in order to curtsey.

"Here is our menu, take however long you desire."

She handed the pair an especially fancy looking menu.

"Now, would you like anything to drink, Master?" She asked, speaking to Lucas first.

Novus 5: Chiharu's date

Soon enough, Ayers would see his date entering the restaurant a bit winded. She was wearing a pink casual dress with a white knit sweater, both modified so as not to constrain her wings.

"I'm sorry for coming in so late," Chiharu said as she sat down at the booths. "A customer couldn't figure out what bouquet to bring to his wife."

Novus 6: A Very Important Decision

"...It has to do with this," he said, opening the case and showing Carol the lens. "Supposedly, this should be able to let me see again... But it was Alexandros who brought it to me, and despite the Valean Royal Intelligence Agency verifying that it was clean, I can't stop thinking there's a catch of some sort..."

Novus 4: Practice

Ai paused, tilting her head and thinking for a moment, before she finally arrived at something and her face formed into a devilish grin. She clapped her hands together.

The best way to get sass was to give sass.

"You call that a walk? My little sisters walk better than that!" she said. To be fair, it was true. "Okay...how about this? Do the poses I tell you without question. You ready?"

Ai sat down on the bed and pointed. The poses came innocuously enough:

"Put one hand on your hip, and one leg crossing in front of the other. Big smile."

Novus 6: Pre-Pageant -> Maid Cafe

Ai opened her mouth to say something but was too late to speak up before Hope left.

"Okay, I'm gonna go get dressed," she said. She stepped out of the bathroom and turned back for a second. "There's still time before the pageant so if you wanna feel better about what you have to do you can come watch me make an ass out of myself at the maid cafe and maybe drink some tea!"

On the way there she quickly sent Charisse a reply.

Pay? What pay? :)

Ai quickly made her way to the changing room, undressed, and donned her maid costume, careful to wear the headpiece in such a way as not to obscure her best feature (her ears, obviously).

Novus 4

"Alfred....underwear?" Alexia had a vaguely confused look on her face for a few seconds and then her face turned bright red.

With a small "Eep!" she averted her face from Charisse and tried to do what Ai was doing.

She failed miserably. Reasons: (1) her mind was mush, and so she flubbed all the actions and (2) she was having a nosebleed.

Maidssss

Wow, I never noticed how nice Carol's melons are. Mia was definitely undermining Charisse's mental fortitude.

Oh, and Ai will be here soon, right? What a lovely mental image~!

Carol's face looked like she was about to burst out laughing at Charisse's appearance, but she valiantly kept it in.

"...Pffft. Iced coffee, please. And a chocolate cake."

Then, she turned to Lucas with a much more serious expression.

"....What do you want to do with it, love? It's your choice. Not anyone else's."

Somewhere on the Fairgrounds

As Rheia walked along she got a message on her Scroll. Jack was asking if anyone was interested in the haunted dorm.

Not yet. Competing in pageant, wanna get that over with before anything else.

Of course, she then found someone else she knew.

"Hey, Remus! Enjoying the fair?"

Roof meeting

Muttering several profanities under his breath, Glen began to speak with Erin Well, then I suppose it's your first time tae show courage isn't it? before pausing and adding The longer it takes you tae make up your mind, the less likely you are tae want an' go ahead wi' this.

Novus 6:FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

Al walked around the festival area in one of his past guard uniform, one that would not burden him as he needed to move a lot today, and carry a lot. He checked the food booths everywhere, his face was painted with a giant grin and his hands held a metric fuckton of filled plastic bags, all giving several smells, so many types of different food were there it was impossible to tell the entirety of the purchased contents inside the bags because their smells mish mashed together. He was certainly excited, seeing as he has a chance to eat something other than the crappy, bland and generic Valoran cuisine and for incredibly cheap prices, he made sure to buy a lot of food today. And all on him now was the things he didn't eat right on the spot.

He looked for a bench where he could put some of it down, lighten his load so he wouldn't carry too much if he'd be tempted to buy more.

Eventually the knight found a small table and bench close to the bathroom stalls, where he sat down and opened a few of the bags , putting the food boxes down on the table and began to messily feast upon what he bought. Alfred was in his own little world right now, basically unaware of his surroundings and anything other than the food, his phone beeping was not something he even noticed. Whether the princess called or sent a text message, Her recipient did not notice it. Though if they were close enough, she'd probably notice the huge amount of boxes on the table if nothing blocked her view, or if not that possibly the smell.

"Just a glass of water, Charisse," he said, before turning his attention to Carol. "...I don't know. It'd be nice to see again, obviously, but it's not really a major concern to me at this point. For the most part, I do just fine without it."

Novus 5

Ayers shrugged and smiled warmly. "Ahh, no big deal. I ain't bin waiting here fer too long anyway. Great t'see y'all!" He leaned forwards a bit. Flowers, now that was compelling. The rolling plains of Vale didn't offer a lot of variety, especially when so much of it was getting farmed to feed them. For all he knew, they'd be eating food his Dad had grown tonight! "Wow, flowers. Hwut all'd they git, if'n y'all don't mind me asking?"

"No." Ayers said flatly. So close to the preliminary testing, and Hope was backing out now?! His expression soured, briefly, but then he swerved back into a grin. Better idea. "Tell y'all hwut, Hope..." He upgraded his grin to shit-eating class. "Y'all can either wear this here leg, or I'll carry you to the pageant on my shoulders." He clanged his wrists together. "Make yer choice."

Novus 4

Charisse laughed, then stood up and wiped Alexia's face the same way a parent would to a messy child.

"You know what? I'm not sure why I thought that would work." she giggled, "I thought you were past the point with him where you'd nosebleed at underwear, if my relationship with Ai is anything to go by."

Novus 6

Charisse nodded rapidly, not noticing Carol's face (she was too busy looking at her chest), wrote down both orders, then basically fled as fast as she could in heels.

Shut up Mia! Shutupshutupshutup! You're making my face look weird!

She reached the cafe counter, tore off the order, then handed it to the barista. The little buzz of her phone going off startled her, but she managed to keep her reaction in control as to not jump up in the air and ruin everything

Sneakily, she checked up on Ai's message. Her anxiousness skyrocketed as she typed up a reply.

Wait were not getting paid for this? But you said.. and I already signed up for this shift..

She sighed, and took her spot by the counter again.

Novus 6

Sechs perused through the fairgrounds, alone, but quite happy to have a bit of time to himself. He certainly hadn't meant to be alone, but wandering though with more than one person presented a challenge...at least, for him. There were always going to be pros and cons to his upbringing, but the way he moved deftly through the crowd reminded him to be thankful for it. He may not be great in' a crowd, but moving through'' them was easy.

NOVUS 6

"Hey! Sechs!" It was Jack, walking over to him, "You know where everyone else is?"

...what.

"...I... what?" Hope was legitimately confused. What was Ayers talking about? "I'm... not... forfeiting? I just asked if we could attach it in our room. The leg."

Novus 6

With the festival going on in full swing, bustling with activity, Falken realized that it hadn't taken much for him to get separated from his team-mates...or the people he was sort of following. And going to that...cafe wasn't a good idea. To top it off, the straw sun-hat he was wearing wasn't exactly comfortable.

Besides, getting to that contest was a bit more of a priority as he kept walking on, carrying two paper bags.

Novus 4

Alexia covered her face with her hands, still bright red and absolutely mortified.

"I-I-I-! W-we haven't gone t-that far yet! N-not that I haven't tried!" she blurted out without thinking. And then, sudden realization.

"....Please murder me."

Novus 5

Courage...? Very well, I will try.

Alexia was getting rather uncomfortable with Glen's behavior. It was really odd. They were alone up here, but he wanted her to meet someone.

At that moment, a bright light. And then, something that Mia couldn't do.

Erin manifested herself outside of Glen's body. Semi-tranparent and ethereal, but fully visible.

Hello....s-sister. I...umm...y-you called me, Erin, yes? The ghost sounded nervous.

Alexia stared, mind frozen. "W-w-what?"

Novus 6

Huh. Perhaps his Scroll was busy. Alexia tried another call. Then a text. Waited for five minutes. Tried another call. And another. Twenty three calls and fifteen texts later, Alexia was worried. What could have happened to Alfred?! He's supposed to be in Beacon, so...

Heart pounding, Alexia ran out into the grounds...only to find him stuffing his face at a bench.

A huff. A pout. A yell.

"You idiot! Do you have any idea how worried I was?!"

Meanwhile, Carol took hold of Lucas's flesh hands with her metal ones.

"Hey. I admire that you can live without your eyes, I really do. However, I can tell you're...how to put this...insecure? Love, how about just trying them out? And then you can decide whether to use them permanently."

Boo, you're no fun... grumbled Mia. You're surrounded by maids and you try to avoid looking? What's wrong with you?!

Rooftop meeting

Mouthing "What the fuck" as Erin materialized out in front of him, Glen took a moment to collect himself before quietly saying "Erin here wanted tae meet wi' you, an' it's nae my place tae deny such a request."

"Dinnae ken how it happened, but, uh, she's kind o' been sharin' my body wi' me for a wee bit now."

After a mildly awkward pause, the Highlander muttered "I'm goin' tae let you two talk alone for a wee bit." before wandering off to a far corner of the roof to sit by himself and be alone with his thoughts (and guilt) for a bit.

6th, Cafe

Under the impression that this "Maid Cafe" (whatever the hell that meant) was a place to get food, Glen made his way towards it with the intent of chowing down before seeing what the rest of this festival was about. Upon entering the cafe, the only words out of the Highlanders mouth were "Feckin' southrons"

But, despite how strange he found all of this, the Highlander decided to wait and see if he couldn't get some decent grub out of this place

Novus 6: Oblivious

Al registered that a voice he was familiar with was sounding nearby, though it was rather quiet, and he didn't hear the yell he probably should've heard. Though it was enough to make him turn his head towards it. Seeing who it is Al waved, still grinning. Completely unaware of why her expression was like it was.

"Hey, Alexia, weren't you supposed to be at the... Pageant something? -Alfred took a bite of one of his foodstuffs and swallowed before continuing- I bought plenty of food to eat today, I'll share with you some, come here! It's better than all of your manufactured Valoran crap"

The knight mumbled to himself quietly "as long as you pay for my next meal that is."

Novus 6: Tsundere Maid Cafe

Ai emerged from behind the counter, neatly dressed and composing herself in a respectable fashion. She walked past Charisse, glancing aside to wink at her, and stepped out into the cafe, tail lazily swaying back and forth behind her as if to tease both her and Mia.

Ai spotted Glen first. She paused, then giggled at his reaction. This was Glen, so there was no way she would take his order like an ordinary maid. No, she was going to have fun with this. She promptly strode over to the doorway, clutching the menu to her chest.

"Yo," she said, rudely. She bowed, intentionally stiffly, and stared at Glen with a pretend scowl. "Table's this way."

She gestured to an otherwise empty table. "I set this table aside just for you, master. N-n-not that I c-care, or anything," she said. She looked away, scratching her cheek and tossing the menu carelessly onto the table. "Hurry up and order something."

Novus 5: The Date

“He ended up with a bouquet of carnations,” Chiharu said. “His wife was fond of them.”

Novus 6: The moment of truth

“...Point taken,” Lucas said. He let go of Carol's hand as he took off the blindfold. He carefully took the lens out of the package – it may have been highly advanced, but that didn't mean it was highly durable – and, after an initial bit of fumbling, managed to place it down on his left eye.
