Okay, I was looking through one of those threads wanderlustwarrior linked and someone mentioned that Dragunov is supposed to be 26.

What?

With how he looks, reputation and his goals, you'd think he'd be closer to 40 at least.

I'd have guessed maybe 32 at the absolute maximum. He seems like the type to have risen through the ranks quickly, after an early military start. His age only comes from being humorless and a bit scarred, as he's actually a pretty young looking guy by his in-game models.

I still wish Bamco would allow for characters, especially female characters, to be in their 30s and 40s. There's still a lot of attractive women in that age range. Christmas Cake is only a trope because people keep insisting it's a big deal. Not everyone wants to have kids early.

Kunimitsu's watermelon bikini and some of my favorite moves of hers are back. I say some, because I still am waiting to see a few more:

• Doton (and all follow ups)
• Setsunagake (most)
• Kodama flip
• Uratenrou
• Amarekami
• Poison Wind Eclipse Kick
• Sasabikujiki
• Ninpo Shinkiro (all)
• Sakekuga

I've got a bunch more favorites, but I noticed them in the trailers. I may have missed some of the above that were in the trailers.

Turns out she's mostly the same from what I can tell (laptop isn't strong enough to run it; I'm waiting to build a pc), she's mostly the same, just adapted for the system, except for the following:

1. My favorite move out of Doton and Ninpo Shinriko stances, Sajin Kaisen (the uppercut then downwards kick) was replaced in both instances by Tensho Kaisen, a similar move with a different launch.
2. An evasion out of Back Turned Stance - Kitsunegokoro (turn and do a split to evade highs) was removed.
3. A two-stage stomping attack - Poison Wind > Eclipse Kick, was removed.

Also, which of the following would people prefer as the next step in the franchise:

• Tekken 8
• Tekken Tag Tournament 3
• Tag mode DLC for Tekken 7

I'd prefer Tag mode DLC, since it'd extend the life of Tekken 7, and give more time to do Tekken 8 later into the console generation's life, to better utilize console technology.

I think T7 should have a decent PC scene presence tho I don’t remember the general state of its netplay.

I own it on Steam but I uninstalled because I just don’t have the hardware to run it well at this moment.

Harada needs to let 7 die at this point. It's the most successful game in the franchise, two seasons after the updates fucked a lot of the meta. it's getting drip fed occasional characters way past the time when they'd be properly hyped for.

Take all the good of this game, and just work on a successor. Regardless if it's Tag 3 or Tekken 8.

Why let it die when more can be squeezed from it for low effort and high enjoyment and profit?

In any case, I finally upgraded my computer and am now running the game on Steam.

If they can find a way to milk Tekken 7 even more then so be it. I'm not entirely sure how many people are actually ready to play a Tekken without Heihachi being in the roster anymore

I don't remember if Nina had an actual reason regarding the cold sleep but Anna did have a reason even if it was because she didn't want Nina to look younger than her.

Last time I checked it was because she was being punished for failing to assassinate Kazuya. It's been a while so I'm pretty sure I got that wrong.

What direction do you all think they're going to take the remaining DLC in? Especially, do you think it'll be a new character(s)? As far as I can tell, there are few older characters left who don't have a counterpart. In fact, from what I can tell, the only missing characters from earlier entries are:

• Alex / Roger / Roger Jr.
• (Ancient) Ogre
• Angel
• Baek
• Bruce
• Christie
• Doctor Bosco
• Jinpachi
• Jun/Unknown

Of those, I would want Jun/Unknown, and to a lesser extent Christie. Jun also has a really good in-story reason to come back, and Namco can get over their aversion to older women in fighting games.

Outside of them, the only character I really see coming back is Roger Junior, since G-Corp is working on different types of future soldiers. Baek or Bruce are kind of long shots due to how their "replacements" are faring.

No present day Kazumi is a crime. They're trying, but Japanese fighting devs chickening out on older women strikes again.

Does it bug anyone else how the character customizer feature is both different from, and more limited than, Tag 2 and Soul Calibur 6, in completely different ways?

It's a mod, but I don't think I've seen a character mix & matching for their movesets in a Tekken 7 mod yet?

I just saw this one today.

Yeah, I'm baffled at how they used Noctis instead of Tifa (and I got zero issues with Noctis).

Tifa's straightforward, aggressive combat style fits perfectly with Tekken's fighters. Plus FF 7 has relatively more practical designs because of graphical limitations, so Tifa's design could work nicely in the Tekken aesthetic. Much more sensible and crowd-pleasing than Noctis I belong in Soul Cal, or a Walking Dead character, for fuck's sake.

From what I can tell, people dislike Noctis so much that Kunimitsu's most notable new combo ender got immediate backlash.

Wait wait wait... I know I'm out of the loop on even getting access to mods, but that was just Jozie and Julia combined? That's very intriguing! I love playing as Julia, Asuka, Katerina, and Dragunov. I'm used to Tag 2's Kunimitsu, and will learn 7's eventually. But to see an old favorite combined with someone new I want to learn? Hmm.

I'm starting to get a little annoyed by some of the cosmetic changes in this game, and with Kunimitsu in particular.

Tag 2 had a significantly superior character customizer. And not even including the decals, but the general user interface, and options.

• Color options had associated numbers, so you could easily find what your setting was for one thing, to match. Soul Calibur VI has this still (and also has some decals), why not Tekken?
• Then there's the limitations to only change the color on certain items. So all of a sudden, you can no longer change the color on hair accessories?
• And on that note, hair accessories are locked to one specific ponytail style, and hats are locked to the default hairstyle. There's not even a "mid-length" or "long" ponytail option anymore. Why remove those options?
• Some character-specific costume pieces haven't returned, and that's annoying. And then there's quite a few generic pieces that haven't returned.

But what really bugs me about Kunimitsu is that not only have Kunimitsu I's pieces not returned (outside of her default outfit and watermelon bikini), Kunimitsu II doesn't even keep the mask on, and it can easily be knocked off. I'd like to be able to keep the appearance of Kunimitsu I for more than a moment, but the only way to keep her eyes covered seems to be to use the blindfold "glasses".
...Also, I'd like to be able to turn of the tails on Kunimitsu II's default top.

Some characters are still a lot of fun to mess around with. I've enjoyed making some costumes for Julia and Katarina, especially.
