The fact that the Tree is the Supreme Deity and Demon Kings sibling is hilarious to me for some reaskn.

So among the 3 kids the tree turned out to be the least trouble one. Kek

I always like the concept that human is imperfect but make up by being extremely diverse without get stuck in any single path. I remember reading a Buddism story about why the Buddha chose human to pass on his teaching because human life in the middle path. The gods all live in too much comfort and pleasure so it impossible experience hardship and sadness, the demons are opposite since they live in constant suffer without understand the joy of life while the Asura all being battle hungry maniac. Humans can experience both happiness and sadness is what make them the best candidate to attend true enlightenment.

I've come to really despise the whole "humans are special" trope.

The whole manga we have giants, human, faeries, and even demons and goddesses being not so different. And now it's suddenly "whelp humans were made to be different".

So Merlin is just motivated by daddy issues. You might try to sugarcoat it, but that's what it comes down to- daddy didn't love her, so she spent 3000 years trying to fill in that void. Great job ruining the most interesting character in the story.

What's even the point of Merlin being a little girl who changed her appearance into an adult is? You could just as well have her grow up normally and then stop her time! It adds nothing to the story, except Author Appeal.

I hate this "our imperfections actually make us better than everyone else" spiel. It always comes off like an pathetic platitude.

Also, if only humans are capable of more than one behavior, I guess that means Demons really are all 100% evil after all.

No, Angels are 100% good because they are the opposite of demons, and races other than humans can only be one thing.

Vampires are also Mother of Chaos progeny, and they're 100% evil too.

You can have more than one.

Giants are 100% bloodthirsty. Fairies are 100% lazy.

Unless you mean they're 100% Self-Rigtheous. In which case yeah that's true.

Edit: Saw you added the good. But they pretty much squashed that by showing Supreme Deity didn't like her mom being stronger than her and has repeatedly work with her brother to squash people who piss them both off.

And mass murder is very bad. That's something a demon would do. Ludociel himself admitted he bought into the worship of humans that made them see themselves as better than anyone else. When they were just as big a failure as the demons for MoC

It's inline morenwith SMT and its idea of "Good" Angels who are righteous and holy and "right".

Also, seeing how Chaos is probably the next villain, I don't think failing it is a bad thing.

Mo C wiekds greater light than the Supreme Deity, so by default that makes her more good than the Goddesses.

Since the movie confirrmed the Goddesses worshipped Mo C for that very reason, the less good Supreme Deity sought to remove her.

But she also has greater darkness than Demon King, so she must be evil.

I guess she's a lot like humans in that regard, and that's why she likes them best. And since humans in NNT suck, so must she.

Yet the Supreme Deity and Dmon King got played like fiddles them. So they suck even worse.

The clear winner is the tree.

To be devil's advocate, all of the other races in manga are shown to be greatly disposed to one direction while humans are all over the places, but it definitely never has really went to "All the giants/demons/fairies are same without free will" So at same time "Humans are special" is kinda bs since all characters are personality wise pretty "human", but on otherhand lot of seven deadly sins' member are like "The only one in their race that acted differently for x reason" so technically manga doesn't contradict itself. All of the demons who haven't been keen on being dicks have had some other reason why they stopped being dicks while all who haven't don't seem to oppose demon king at all

Also, don't we all know that mother of chaos is the pig? Or do I remember wrong what Hawk's mom was according to the movie?

The Civillian Demons also are not involved in war and fighting, which is where the Goddesses hostages came from. Though it wouldn't be surprising if they were a minority amongst the Demon Clan since DK is Toxic Masculinity personified.

Mama Hawk turned to stone apparently. So she's likely a puppet Mother of Chaos, who I am hoping was controlling with a joystick.

Eh, entire clans were at war. What few traitors were there were harshly punished while the war itself was one with genocide as a goal. It's not terribly surprising that there wouldn't be many demons or goddesses breaking ranks. We just haven't seen many outside that context.

But what we do see is that the goddesses pursue genocide and warcrimes, while the demons fight for their civillians and friends. What's the point of the gloxinia-Drole flashback if that wasn't a key thing to establish ( since the recent chapter suggest otherwise)?

Humans seem weak, but they are plentiful. They also are the only race who have no united clan. But, we were told that a powerful mage city was destroyed, so that always explained to me why humans were somewhat pathetic. On top of that, magic had faded since the sealing of demons, implying that basically all the magic in the world was keeping them sealed. So that's another reason humans appear weak.

And that, that is why I hate "Humans are special". Cause now all the nuances are being sledgehammered into a homogeneous mess. Humans are just special, despite the whole manga contradicting this

Just couldn't keep someone else from being motivated by love for Meliodas, huh?

Nakaba just can't stop contradicting himself.

The more I come back to this forum the more Meliodas comes off as a Gary Stu.

Melodias always was a Gary stu. The difference is that there used to be a good manga he was in.

Edit: that may come across a bit harsher than intended. But basically, many of the flaws used to be hidden by better writing and better systems. Things like power levels just stripped it bare. Like, it used to be rather fun that you couldn't tell whether someone was just playing or truly getting their ass kicked. And many of the darker, more interesting stories have been declawed
