There really aren't many good examples of a healthy relationship in this series. I honestly can't think of one that isn't at least somewhat problematic.

Can Gowther have any relationships not based upon screwing around with someone's mind?

I mean, she did that more to rescue Gilthunder than to specifically get revenge on Vivian. So, yeah, all things considered I guess her and Gilthunder, and Veronica and Griamore would be considered "healthy". Though maybe not that last one because it's not like they've admitted anything.

Well, his relationship with Nadia wasn't. And I sort of thought he'd have something with Slader.

It’s not like he was one much to begin with.

Gilthunder and Margaret's relationship still has a lot of problems, but those at least are all due to circumstances beyond their control.

Because of the general craziness of the whole thing, it's never pointed out that Vivian apparently became obsessed with Gilthunder when he was 11 and she was 19. So she was also a pedophile.

It' is one of the few situations where the persons affection is treated as unhealthy at least.

Given the author in question, unspoken pedophilic undertones in romances seem to be a theme.

Chapters out. Mael's gained mastery over the Commandments now that he remember's he's an angel, but the price is pretty much exactly what was mentioned would happen if he tried to use more than one(only now it's each time he invokes it that it distorts his soul).
