Puzzle and Dragons

Done PAD Academy's mythical level twice. Gigas invaded twice. Good times.

But Gang Leader Gigas looks good. He's probably going to be the Gigas I use on my teams if I need him.

I haven't bothered trying to get Gigas to invade yet. Just cleared mythical today. It's not that bad if I don't get him though, for right now regular Gigas is better for me.

The next event for NA has a new descend in it at the end of the month. Hoping it's Sphinx so I can get Awoken Bastet, but it's probably just Zeus&Hera.

I think it'll be Sphinx. But I wouldn't mind Zeus&Hera. They're great and have a very unnecessarily strong gravity.

Btw what team did you use for PAD Academy? I used L.Kali.

I used a Verdandi team.

I guess I just accidentally got Sandalphon.

I was bored with 50 stamina to waste. So I threw together a quick healer team and won. Whups?

That new descend that's coming tomorrow actually isn't Sphinx or Zeus&Hera. It's Kaguya Hime. Gonna be a while before I can tackle that dungeon.

new dragon challenges

beat the first level no problem. i only needed to activate l.kali's leader skill three times. the rest of the floors I could two-prong to death.

now to get myself some jewels i suppose.. not that I even need them.

So apparently we are getting the one chocolate collab from Japan.

To be quite frank, it isn't very good. Except for the magic stone.

So they're doing Shinrabansho Collab. I've heard of the series someplace before, but I don't know where.

Got Sphinx in two attempts of Legend. Now all I have to do is evolve him and Awoken Bastet is mine. Still need a Super Ruby for Awoken Kagutsuchi though.

I'll get Sphinx tomorrow or whatever. I'm trying to max skill my L.Kali, and it is going awfully.

That said, God Fest tomorrow and saturday. I'm rolling day 2 because I already have most of Day 1's monsters.

If I roll, it'll be day 2 because 3K. I don't want an angel though, so I'm considering holding off.

...shame that they were my 2nd D.Kali and my 3rd L.Meta.

I got a second Grape Dragon...which would be nice if I didn't have a nearly max skilled/max awoken one. Second roll was Avalon Drake, which isn't bad. Good for an Awoken Ceres team.

I'm working on getting awoken ceres, but I can't for the life of me beat Zeus-Dios dungeon or Hera-Beorc dungeon. I just don't have a team capable of doing them. (Maybe Dios, but he hadn't descended in forever.)

I used Verdandi for both. Wasn't too bad, though I did spend one stone on Dios.

Now if only I could get Zeus Vulcan as easy as I got them...

The pink REM is coming back. And it seems to be upgraded to the level that PAD Academy was. Puzzle and Dragons Beach Episode?

After a few weeks largely distracted from the game by offline concerns, I'm back playing regularly again. And I'm at the point where I feel I need an effective team with which I can surge through some stages, to get to somewhere around Ocean of Heaven.

Oh, I'm rank 7 with a team cost of 83.

In technical dungeons I'm in the middle of Castle of Satan in the Abyss. In normal, I've just finished Tomb of the Saint - Deep (got through that with a resolve/Grodin team, though I did spend a stone doing it).

At the moment I'm still leading mainly with Byakko, who is now Ulti-Evolved to her D/D Banishing Claw Form (thank you, Darklits from the PAL egg machine!). Though I don't really have the most effective subs to use her right, so as awesome as she is (especially fully awoken as she is) I'm not sure the Spike damage I can get from her is worth it if I'd be better with other leads. Advice please?

Since she is my best monster I probably still want to be using her, and thus focusing on Dark/Fire/Water monsters.

I do have another God/Devil potential lead - Moonlit Feline Goddess Bastet (Wood/Dark), though the team cost of the two means I can't use them together, and she only really syncs to Haku if there's something that boosts either Gods or Devils.

Speaking of which, I'm wondering if I should be leading with Armoured Green Ice Knight, Muse, whom I got from a REM pull recently (not evolved yet but I can change that of course). He could do well with both Bastet and Haku, once team cost size facilitates them. I'd lose the spike damage but perhaps that uniform HP and attack bonus might make up for it?

One sub I'm definitely keeping in the team though is Echidna. This weekend was my first ever crack at the Scarlet Princess dungeon, and I got and skill maxed an Echidna! Level is currently in the 50s, and yesterday I got 13 maxed red Pengdra from the technical dungeons, which I'll evolve on Thursday after I get Dragon Plants, then feed to Echidna. That should get her evolved again (I hope), and usefully levelled. Essential to every team of course, and syncs with Haku, as well as providing valuable RCV, but admittedly doesn't sync directly with Muse.

Other monsters which I could use in that or other teams, as lead or sub:

• Persephone. Random REM pull not during a Godfest, and I get her. Amazing. Brilliant with Haku of course, and would also work in a Muse team.
• Neptune. Another REM pull the previous night. Probably more situationally useful than a team mainstay, but again, syncs well with Muse and that poison damage will definitely have uses somewhere.
• Water Wizard Sharon. Abysmal stat-wise going forward, but I've had surprising effectiveness in these early stages with Haku by using Sharon's skill after Haku's, guaranteeing a mass and strong water attack at a relatively low team cost. A very early REM pull when I started playing, that utility (Haku was my second one) has kept her in my team for a while.
• Lakshmi. A decent God, but I'm not sure how I'd use her in anything but a mono-water team. Could do very well as part of one?
• Beast Rider Merlin. Not evolved, or God type, but still goes well with Haku potentially.
• Sea God's Songstress, Siren: As the healer girls go I'm probably best sticking with Naga I think, as her active skill does not sync with Haku. She's ultimate evolved and fully awakened though, so definitely has potential uses.
• Undine the Water Elemental. Again probably only viable for a mono-water team really, not even sure if that.
• Tsuko-Yomi. Ready to be ultimate-evolved, got the materials for either (including an Angelit for Dark Light) so could work as a sub for Haku?
• Dark-Flame Ifrit: Also got another unevolved Salamander. Probably redundant to better monsters all things considered.
• Mystic Astro Dragon, Nebradisk: Somehow managed to get this guy after many runs on Expert, since I'm not strong enough to do Master yet. I don't have an Odin of any kind of my own, so might have utility as a Dark team sub? Possibly not though, that C/D is problematic, so might be better sticking with Grodin friends.
• Shinra Sorceror God Moebius: Just once did a collab REM and got the only monster who is actually relevant to the kind of teams I'm looking at. Could be used in either a Haku or a Muse team as it syncs with both due to being another God/Devil
• Amberjack. Christ that ultimate evolved form is far better than it should be - looks like a replacement for a Chinese God! Could have use for me on a Mono water team but if I'm running mostly Gods, I can't really see it helping much.
• Twilight Sorceror and Jester Wizards Chester. The Dark and Fire versions of Chester, my only source of Gravity at present, but neither is a common member of any of my teams, nor do I really see that changing?

So based on this, should I switch my focus from a Haku team to perhaps a Blue Armoured Knight Muse team? Potential subs could be Echidna, Haku, Bastet, Persephone, all in ultimate evolved forms. Or should I stick with Haku and try and get better subs? I can try and get a Vampire by repeatedly grinding Castle of Satan until one drops I suppose, and try my luck for Pandora or Ronia at the next Godfest.

I would maybe transition to a Bastet team. The playstyle will be somewhat different though, you'll want to focus on wood orbs and stacking combos. Later on, you'll want to get Awoken Bastet, she is one of the best leaders in the game, pairing with a friend's will give you 36x if you hit 7 combos and activate a skill.

Alternatively, you could work on fitting Persephone into your Haku team, though the cost may be too large for your rank at the moment.

As for the others...

• Lakshmi: Trash until she is in her Awoken form, where she's pretty good with a mono water team. Amberjack and/or Siren should help there, if you decide to go that route later.
• Muse: Good for a very early game lead, but at the point you are, he leaves a lot to be desired. Works better as a sub to get that extra boost to kill bosses.
• Neptune: Decent sub for when you need to kill something with lots of defense and low HP. Just be careful of status shields, poison won't work then. He's also a decent resist leader in his awoken form. The materials for that are can be difficult to get though, especially Zeus Mercury.
• Yomi: Regardless of which ult you go for, Yomi would be helpful on a Bastet team so you can learn to combo better. She/he isn't very useful besides that, good for a light element if needed I guess.
• Moebius:Same as Yomi, with a slightly different active skill and worse stats.
• Nebradisk: Decent resist lead, though lacks the stats and awakenings of Grodin. Could still work. You may be able to cheese Endless corridors pairing with a Grodin as well, it will take a while though.
• Echidna: Do not ultimate evolve her. The boost she gains isn't worth the extra cost, especially now when you're limited by cost. When you have more cost than you generally need, then you can ult her if you want.
• Chesters: If you need skill bind resists, they've got you covered. Jammer and poison orb convert isn't bad either.
• Undine: Not really useful. There's better water enhance subs out there, notably Blue Odin.

As for trying for Ronia or Pandora, you can do that if you want, but with the caveat that both will want REM monsters, which you may not be lucky enough to roll. Ronia also has high cost, so she may not be a good option just yet. Grinding for a Vampire is up to you, but chances are, you'll roll one out of the PEM or the REM at some point.

Hmm, thanks for that info. It's much as I feared then, that I have bits and pieces of viable teams, but nothing that I can really use as a coherent unit even to get me easily through this part of the game. Basically I can't get through even Master level of dungeons yet, except with Grodin and a couple of stones (which I'm not prepared to spend, and even that often isn't enough). So I'm stuck at expert or lower, and descends are totally out of the question.

This is why I evolved Bastet the way I did - Sphinx is in the EU just now, but I could spend 100 stones and not get it, and the same with anything else. I don't have thousands of pounds to spend on stones, so I'll need to make do with what I can get. W/D Bastet could still be of value in the mean time.

I do have a few other things, but I didn't list my Wood and Light monsters because they're pretty much all worthless. I have Resist Dragons in Wood, Dark and Light, the Hello Kitty World Drawn Joker, and Barons in all five colours. I've also got Golems in Wood, Dark and Light. All of these are situational at best, and I'm looking for a functional standard team to advance in the game. Others:

• Storm Dragon Mistrain: Dragons suck generally, Echidna makes the skill redundant
• Wind Prodigy Sasuke: My first REM roll, I'd have restarted had I known about the idea of doing that at the time (least my second was Haku). Suits Bastet well enough, no value otherwise, rubbish stats
• Holy Knight Arcline: I'd need to use Naga and Siren as the offensive cornerstones of my team, and I really can't see how that's viable.
• Wandering Wizard Wee Jas: Could have some use on a light team, but I can't see how it's beneficial to me
• Fairlion: Actually good when evolved, this one.
• Grimrock: Golem by another name, no better than one.
• Earth Dragon Swordsman: Meh
• Chibi Perseus: If it were the real thing, I might be interested. As is...I'm not.
• Genie the Light Elemental: Serves a similar role to Undine, and no better than her. Worse actually due to team sync.
• Lighting and Fire Chasers: Worthless
• Red Riding Hood: Healer, not good for teams actually looking to damage things
• Phoenix Knight Homura (Two of them): Only benefits a Mono Fire team that I can see, nothng I'd run
• Red and Blue Fruit Dragons: Meh
• Fire Wizard Laila: No better than Water Wizard Sharon

Such is the dilemma I face. I'm not in a position in the game whereby I can farm for useable monsters, and I haven't gained three or four monsters that go well together for now to get me to the point where I can do such farming.

Seems like all I can really do is endless farming of low level technical dungeons to get Pengdra to level what I have, while doing bi-weekly specials for less common things and hoping that something worthwhile drops (which is unlikely when I can only manage Expert).

Grinding rank may be a good idea, that's what I did in your situation. Also, Metal/Jewel dragons for XP. Saving stones for a Godfest with good pantheons(Chinese, 3 Kingdoms, any Egypt) would be good too. You could also try to take on The Goddess Descended whenever it comes around.

Sauske is good enough for Bastet for what you have. Both him and the rest of the ninja series will be getting Devil subtype soon, if it hasn't happened already.

The Dark/Light Golems aren't that great as is right now, but their ultimate evolutions make them pretty good leaders for a Machine team. Problem is, you need the Fire/Water/Wood Golems to get there.

Wee Jas, Fairlion, and Arcline could contribute to a decent Healer team, though you'd have to get a decent leader first(Valkyrie could fill that role).

You're only rank 7, you're already more prepared than most people at that rank. Don't think too hard about it until you've done a good chunk of the normal and technical dungeons.

I feel like the rank 7 thing was a typo, probably mean in the 70s.
