A Six Episode Story Arc? As part of the parent series?

And we have our first episode without Lincoln in "Net Gains". (Well, he does appear in the title card)

Nice to see Lynn learn the lesson this time.

Just saw the Rita episode, and when she was dropping the kids off at school, Lori wasn't shown.

What's the deal with that?

Well, I had a topic, and no one had posted here in a long time besides myself. So yes, I did have to. But did any of you guys see some of the more recent Loud House episodes?

A lot of them are really emphasizing the importance of family in this season, as if some of the more cruel moments in seasons 1 and 2 didn't happen. We even had another episode without Lincoln (Fandom Pains)!

I really liked Fandom Pains! I feel like the show hasn't ever had an episode about Lucy's relationship with Lori and Leni before, so this was really cool.

Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.

Did SOMEONE say LENI!?

I love Leni. I know she's a bit beyond dumb for some people (Ok Im being unfair here. They arent that vocal and most people do love her). I really relate to characters like her because I feel myself am slow of mind quite often.

You always have thoughtful posts so I don't see how you're slow of mind at all. But yes, Leni is wonderful. Her performance in One Flu Over The Loud House really cemented how sweet she is. I also liked her flirting with her crush in L is for Love. Good stuff.

I was thinking recently about how most of the Loud kids have something I can relate to.

I’m the oldest in my family so I understand Lori’s desire to be needed and appreciated by her younger siblings.

I think of myself as a reasonably nice person, not as much as Leni’s personality, but close enough.

Luna’s appreciation for classic rock and love of all things British is definitely something I can relate to.

I certainly like a good laugh (I wouldn’t watch Loud House if I didn’t) so I appreciate Luan’s love of comedy. I adore her puns but don’t care for her pranks. I feel pains of sympathy whenever Luan’s braces are addressed. At least she has them at 14. If you didn’t have to wear braces your freshman year of college, be grateful.

Few things in this world mean more to me than Syracuse University so I always love to see Lynn Jr.’s love of sports get attention.

Just the fact that Lincoln is a boy makes him the Loud kid most like me. I did have a love of superheroes and video games as a kid. Lincoln is a big fan of science fiction and I did love Star Wars as a kid.

Just the fact that Lucy is the quietest Loud child makes her the Loud daughter closest to me. I’m not goth by any stretch of the imagination but I have an appreciation for goth culture as one who grew up with ‘89 Batman and the Beetlejuice cartoon.

Lana’s love of animals and fear of heights are two things I certainly understand.

Lisa’s social awkwardness is sadly something I understand very much. I don’t consider myself a genius of any kind but I understand that frustration when you know a lot about a topic and you’re trying to talk to someone with little knowledge of the topic.

I can’t quite see anything about Lola or Lily that I can uniquely releate to.

Just for chuckles, I’ve been thinking about about what “Power Puff Girl” best represents the Loud sisters (yes, I have no life)

Lori: She’s the leader of the Loud kids, so she’s obviously Blossom.

Leni: She’s the dumbest but also sweetest of the loud kids so of course she’s Bubbles.

Luna: Buttercup is the hardest rocker of the “Power Puff Girls”. An episode of the reboot showed Buttercup making a deal with the devil to score an awesome guitar.

Luan: Usually she’s like fun-loving Bubbles but when she gleefully terrorizes the family on April Fool’s Day, she’s more like Buttercup.

Lynn Jr.: She’s Blossom’s strive for perfection mixed with Buttercup’s aggression

Lucy: I’d have to say she’s Buttercup since Blossom would be the “Power Puff Girl” least likely to beleive in the supernatural and Bubbles’ personality does not mix with Lucy’s.

Lana: Lana loves dirt and a whole episode of the original “Power Puff Girls” centered on Buttercup’s dislike of cleanliness.

Lola: I guess Lola’s passion for beauty makes her closest to Blossom. There was an epsiode of the original “Power Puff Girls” in which Blossom learns to stop making a big del about her hair. On the other hand, Lola certainly has Buttercup’s temperment.

Lisa: Her love for Science and knowledge definitely makes Lisa a Blossom.

Lily: Being a baby, she is usually controlled by her emotions. That makes her closest to Bubbles, the heart of “The Power Puff Girls”

[up] If you were a man of culture, you would of done Ed, Edd n Eddy for all the Loud siblings. Which I did!

  • Lori: She is often the leader of the siblings and is often bossy, so naturally she gets Eddy who is often the leader of the Eds.
  • Leni: Ed. For basically being the dumbest of the group and the best character on the show.
  • Luna: Tough call here. On one hand her love for classic rock is comparable to Eddy who is often seen as a disco dan. On the other hand her down to earth personality and being musically gifted makes her comparable to Double D.
  • Luan: I will say Eddy as he is also a prankster and does do like a good laugh for his own amusement.
  • Lynn Jr.: In physicality it would be Ed who is the only one of the Eds who is actually more physically active, but when it comes to personality I would say Eddy since they are both extremely egotistical.
  • Lincoln: Double D since they are both sensitive guys who are really intelligent but not really all that physical.
  • Lucy: Also Double D due to their introvert personality.
  • Lola: She is comaparable to Eddy since the two are both schemers at heart. Amusingly (and also kind of depressingly) she has a better relationship with her older sibling she shares a lot of similarities to (Lori), unlike Eddy whose brother pretty much bullied him.
  • Lana: Ed. They are both the gross ones of their respective groups.
  • Lisa: Double D obviously since they are the genius inventor of their group.
  • Lily: Ed due to being both the dumb and gross one.

I've yet to really see this show (yes, shame on me, I know), but:

Nick has greenlit Los Casagrandes spinoff for realsies.

Oh sure Ronnie Ann can have her spin off show but not Helga G. Pataki.

Well at least it won’t be a poorly thought out spin off like the one given to Sheen from Jimmy Neutron or Cleveland Brown fron Family Guy.

EDIT: Also I just NOW realize that the family’s last name translates to “The Big House”.

Been a while since I talked about the episodes

  • Breaking Dad: The episode is about Lynn Sr. learning he has terminal cancer and in order to pay off his medical expences becomes a drug dealer, with the help of Todd from Bojack Horseman . . . I kid obviously, but amusingly his Cowbella attire makes him sort of resemble Todd if he was older. The plot of the episode actually is a combination of “Hello Gudder, Hello Fadder” from the Simpsons and “Dumped” from Spongebob Squarepants. Hell the ending of this episode is very reminiscent of the latter’s.
  • Absent Minded: It always amusing to watch a role reversal to the show’s usual formula. Especially with Clyde coming up with the hare brained scheme and Lincoln being the lackey who is up for anything. Also great continuity with the Coach and Nurse still being a couple.
  • Gown and Out: A Lola centered episode where the character learns that there is always somebody better than you and that the thought of failure shouldn’t get in the way of doing the things you love. Surprisingly a pretty good mature moral that wouldn’t be out of place in a Venture Bros episode. Also like how Lori in the episode is actually a reasonable and caring sister towards Lola and is the one to give her the very aessop by calling back to the time she lost the title of Homecoming Queen to Carol. It was a pretty neat call back to that Roommate Swap episode where the two are compatible roo- wait a second. The Head Poet Society was an episode with Luan and Lucy together, and they are both also perfect compatible roommates Lola and Lori. And there was an episode Lisa move out of the house to live at the lab research facilty on her own but then realize she needed her family’s love and affection, which in itself was a reference to that Roommate Swap episode. I don’t think this is a councidence, that Swap episode just forshadowed three future episode plots with the perfect roomate algorithm Lisa made. So expect an episode with Luna and Lana together as well as one with Lynn Jr. and Leni.
  • Be Stella My Heart: The moral of the story is Bros B4 Hoes. Especially when said hoe is in reality actually a real bro who wants to be a part of your circle of brodom but has a hard time doing so because you all view her as an object of obsession. And now you all basically come off as asshole by claiming she’s a thot, so apologize to her with the one thing only true bros (according to Netflix Punisher) can understand: food. So yeah, bros before hoes in that having a friend is better than a date.

I was delighted to learn in "Gown And Out" that the fictional town of Royal Oaks is in Southeastern Michigan.

My birthplace, Ann Arbor, is in Southeastern Michigan so there's a chance it's not too far from Royal Oaks, which would make it reasonable to suspect that Lynn Jr. prefers Michigan University to Michigan State.

East Lansing is more Mid-South Michigan.

[up] Sweet another southeastern Michigander! I’m from Southfield, and that’s like a 10 minute drive from Royal Oaks.

Now that we are talking about authenticity of the show being located there, wonder if there will be an episode involving Vanzilla and driving it on the Annual Dream Cruise. That’s an event that happens a lot in Royal Oaks.

I was wrong in my previous post about Royal Oaks being fictional. I thought I remembered reading that Royal Oaks was named after the street Chris Savino grew up on but it's Lincoln who gets his name from the street of Savino's childhood home.

Royal Oaks is a real-life suburb of Detroit.

In other news, Papercutz released their 4th volume of Loud House comics "Family Tree" recently and it's awesome. I strongly recommend "Family Tree" and the first 3 volumes of Loud House comics.

I don't know, I think Lynn Sr. may be lying through his teeth when he says in "Missed Connection" that he got Mono through a karaoke microphone.

It may be a "King Of The Hill"-type situation where Lynn Sr. got Mono by being kissed against his will.

Instead of fighting with the Casagrandes, why don't the Louds just say to Lori "have Thanksgiving dinner with us and you can spend the rest of the weekend with Bobby". Lori probably would be willing to sacrifice a few hours with Bobby if she could spend 72 hours with him afterwards.

Also regarding Thanksgiving: Lynn Jr. wears diaper-esque pants so she won't miss any of the Thanksgiving meal or any football action. Why can't she just go to the bathroom during a commercial break or Halftime? One bathroom in a house of 13 people is rarely unoccupied but you figure their has to be at least a few times in a football game (which generally takes 3 1/2 to 4 hours) where the bathroom is free during commercial break or halftime.

Has anyone watched "Really Loud Music" yet? I thought it was an outstanding episode, and the songs were well-done. The third season was kind of meh to me, but this is easily the best to come out of it.
