Winx Club: Shades of Discord [Interest Check/Signups]

''Magix. A realm at the center of the magic dimension. Home to a magnificent, bustling city of the same name where those from all walks of life gather. But that's not all Magix has to offer. There exists three schools dedicated to training optimistic (though also in some cases power-hungry) youths from various surrounding planets within the galaxy.

Each of them are ancient, storied institutions that have produced great heroes, witches, and fairies of various renown. Of course there are tensions to be found — particularly between Cloud Tower and Alfea College. Witches and Fairies don't always see eye-to-eye for obvious reasons. Alfea regularly receives support from Red Fountain, however, which can make things somewhat unevenly matched when conflict brews. Still, things usually find a way of working themselves out with minimal injuries sustained between the trio of parties.

Now, a new school year has begun. Students both old and new flock to the hallowed halls of their chosen academies. Most rightfully think it's going to be another uneventful school year.

So. This is exactly what it looks like. A game based on the Winx Club series. Hey, wait, don't run away just yet! I know the quality of the series is a bit wonky, and some see it as a knockoff magical girl show, but I think there's some real potential for fun slice-of-life shenanigans mixed with magic and mystery and darker stuff. I mostly wanted to throw up a little teaser to garner interest and gain some insight on what you guys would like this to ultimately be. I have a loose plot outline in mind so I'm not flying completely by the seat of my pants. Also, another thing I wanted to know is if you guys would want to keep this freeform or maybe involve a dice system of some sort? I have a system in mind from a tabletop game I've been reading up on. It's pretty simple and would be easy to implement, I think!

Hmm. Seems pretty cool. I'd join, but I really know next to nothing about the show itself. I'll keep my eyes on this, though. I'll be willing to help however I can, but I can't promise anything.

Really, it can be pretty tricky to get the whole plot/freedom ratio figured out. I'd say you should lean more towards 'freedom', but this is all your choice.

Of course, I haven't had too much experience with RP Gs, but yeah, good luck.

Any help would be appreciated. And yeah, I was leaning more towards freedom since that's the usual fare around here. Just thought I'd test the waters and see if anyone else thought differently.

Mildly interested. Only watched a couple of episodes and that was plenty but the world itself had potential. Maybe for those of us not familiar with it you could give us more detail?

No problem! I forgot to mention that I was looking to place this RP in an A/U setting, where none of the main cast of Winx characters exist. Moderate-to-minor characters like staff members of the schools would still be around, though. I'm planning on typing up a good primer for those unfamiliar with things, so no worries.

would canon characters be open for play?. I would be interested in playing icy as I would like to play a bully character.

I did hence the reason I asked to play as a possible exception (I would like to play an npc besides a personal character). Never mind, I might join later.

Oh. Icy likely wouldn't be around. Like I said, no main protagonists or antagonists would exist outside the canon school officials and whatnot. An NPC witch from the show however would be kosher.
