a comparison of the DW9 cast to their recent, previous selves.
RIP Jia Chong's axes. Shame as he was one of my faves.
It's very astounding that people go complete doomsayer that this 9 will bomb solely because character movesets are being cloned and THAT only.
And anyone who is willing to give a chance are sheeps.
Eh guys, apparently the entire English cast from the previous games will replaced by a different pool of LA voice actors in DW 9, and most seem to be unknown ones.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.E-Even Lu Bu?
Where'd you hear that? And which are the LA voices?
If you mean the likes of Cristina Valenzuela, etc.... yeah, she's been there before (as Lianshi)... so I don't think there's much change. And... wasn't Jamieson Price (Lu Bu) also in LA?

This is one of the confirmed guys. (He's SAG-AFTRA BTW.)

The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Mixed. On the one hand, I'd be really upset if they changed the voices of Lu Bu or Pang Tong, or someone else who has had more-or-less the same voice—and a good voice—for the majority of the series.
On the other hand, if it means we get new voices for the likes of Yuan Shao, Guan Suo, Jiang Wei, etc, then yes please!
this place needs me hereAlright, this is the studio confirmed to do the new dub.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. As long as they are good.
Jiang wei's old voice was TERRIBLE. Why are you always screaming?
... I feel like we'll be retreading with what we got with Samurai Warriors 2 dubbing; we're using an atypical voice group instead of the usual anime stuffs.
Well, DW 2 and 3 were done by other pool of actors other than the classic Anime LA pool.
Besides, some of the actors sound decent enough for the characters based on what I've heard in their voice reels.

First trailer with the new voices.
My thoughts:
Xiahou Dun sounds much younger than he usually does...hope it won't be the same with Dian Wei.
Cao Cao sounds pretty fitting so far.
It seems they're still in early development of localization though, the rest of the trailer shows the gameplay in Japanese.
Overall, sounds fairly decent so far but divisive reactions are to be expected.

The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. They're adding unique NPC's now, these were old practices of the earlier Samurai Warriors games.
Xiahouji (Zhang Fei's... ehem. Waifu), Dong Bai (Dong Zhuo's granddaughter) and... two 'big' names: Hua Xiong and Yuan Shu.
There's also the new gameplay trailer, this time fully in English.

Thoughts:
Sun Jian's voice...is borderline on Grant George's take in Warriors Orochi.
Cao Cao's voice shows more of his acting. At times, sounds good, but others sounds like he's trying too hard in making strong attack hard.
Xiahou Yuan sounds like an middle aged guy sounding cool and ends up sounding awkward, tho mostly in the "Wow, that was awesome!", the rest is fine.
The NP Cs...is a mixed bag. some sound fair enough, but Zhang Liang in particular sounds like if an actor from 3 came back with a vengeance and improved a bit of his acting and Huangfu Song has a moment like he reading a line and then turning the next page to read the next.
Overall, is a mixed bag, which is to be expected for a Warriors game. But regardless of how authentic the acting sounds, it may be still enjoyable.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Ok holy crap I didnt think DW 9 was going to be THIS bad but wow the game blows.
You should try playing the game yourself instead of following just one person. It sickens me to the core in seeing people just thinking in what to buy just by following one reviewer instead of listening to others and playing the game itself to come up with more conclusions.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I agree that one should read multiple reviews for a more informed purchase but that is not a crime, calm down. They happen to trust one reviewer.
I know but still, they should stop being that fucking blind to just one person.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I've been reading really positive impressions along with more negative ones (though half the negative ones don't seem to be hands-on, but based on the likes of Jim Sterling's video). Professional reviews are actually not bad. 70 on Metacritic, which is slightly above average for the series.
this place needs me hereYeesh this game looks ugly.
The open world is not doing it any favors.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'll wait a bit for them to patch out the framerate issues before I play. But frankly I played DW 8:XL on the Vita and handled it just fine so whatever.
This person is a more serious player and he's not liking the open world at least.
There's weird things that happen in the video, like wolves spawning on water, horse riding on water, weird physics when you get out of the water, fishing with basic bait nets you loads of expensive vendor trash. He talks about how the open world aspect of the game is extremely dull, like you can fish in any body of water and it'd be the exact same "Prime Fish" (compared to FFXV's detailed and named fish species that vary depending on location). He also doesn't like the difficulty scaling of the game... where on the highest difficulty, your badass one-man army character can be one-shot by a wolf. The video ends with him trying to sell his expensive vendor trash, but presses the wrong button and does a flashy attack at a merchant, who doesn't even react to it despite the spear clipping through him.
Honestly, this game is bad, and I'm kinda disappointed with it after playing Warriors All-Stars. By the way, y'all should get that instead because it has Nobunyaga in it. That's my one best reason to get that game.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!
A question about DW 4: How were you to achieve hearing Yuki Koyanagi's "Cross Colors?" As you know, this is the in-game Japanese version, this is the in-game English version, and this is the full Japanese version (13:07-16:00).
