Huh, apparently it takes place seven years after Infamous 2.

Well, the protagonist certainly isn't a 7-year old, so either the killing all conduits didn't entirely take, or there's some new method of getting powers?

I was sold the moment I heard about a sandbox where you can teleport. I do wonder how they'll justify it, though.

That Delsin guy will have to have more than just smoke powers if Sucker Punch doesn't want him seen as a laughingstock version of Donte.

Also, I won't be surprised if there's a way to play as Cole again. Maybe a post-story bonus?

[up][up]I don't think the Conduit gene was wiped out when the RFI hit. Maybe the "Conduit gene" is actually a mutation of the genes that can only happen to those with a specific DNA sequence, and the Conduits had that sequence somehow.

Actually watched the video.

Doesn't actually look like 100% smoke based power, more 40% fire and 60% smoke, but it still look fairly cool.

I'm just a bit annoyed that we're getting yet another "rebellious figure in an authorative setting" game, I think we've seen the most of it.

Bleh, if the gameplay is good I may close my eyes on that. Not really thrilled by the main character either, I'll have to see more.

Never been a fan of "angsty young adult goes wild" archetypes.

I'll see in time.

Don't say Donte, even ironically. Sounds too fan wars.

Well, I wasn't thinking about Donte, or anyone in general. I just don't like angsty teenagers/young-adults out to save the world.

I much prefer persona's like Geralt's in The Witcher 2. That's just my personnal opinion anyway.

Oh that.

Got a few more example in head. Dishonored, Farcry3 if you squint (Jason is rebelling against the pirate, although they are not a government), Homefront is an example too even if it wasn't that popular, Assassins Creed 3 in a way, and I really want to mention both Prototype and Infamous but someone might eyeroll at me too. Off the top of my head, that's pretty much it.

Oh, and I could mention Watch Dog if I felt like giving it a cheap shot, but I'd be a bad person if I did.

Oh, and Mirrors Edge, even if it's a bit older.

So if we're going from the evil ending: MORE KUO.

inFamous is my favorite Sony series, so I'm super excited for this, and as much as I like Cole, I feel like he's earned a break. I do hope that his legacy is at least mentioned in the story, however. Also Zeke. We need Zeke.

But, I don't know if either ending from inFamous 2 can be canon and still fit with this. Maybe the humans managed to stop Evil Cole's campaign to kill all normal people, and are now even more understandably paranoid about Conduits?

And I didn't even think about the title's connection to the First Sons until I read it on this thread.

This will secretly turn out to be that Kessler prequel. Somehow.

Yes, the prequel that takes place seven years after the events of the second game.

[up] Time travel. So correct. Seven years after the second game is the only time frame where there could be a prequel.

I don't think this will be a Kessler prequel, but I'd still love one if Sucker Punch would make it.

[up] Hear hear.

Smoke powers sound cool. I suppose Smoke Can Do Anything too right? Also teleporting. And I'm sure since the previous game had it, that there'll be ways of obtaining new powers.

I'm not entirely sold on the new protagonist, but then again Cole hardly looked anything but generic and yet he was a very likeable character even in the evil playthrough. I also hope that they don't make one ending or another canon. Maybe if they pull a Daggerfall and blend the two endings together.

This guy both sounds and looks like an arrogant douche. Between Dm C and this, is it a thing now?

Powers don't look that impressive for now. Impress me, Sucker Punch.
