Also, I did indeed read the first essay, and I completely understand that this is a SERIOUS RPG TM. I understand the rules. Reworked profile comes later today.

There are two, remember. Reading both of them is important, as is indicating such once you make the updated profile.

Okay. I was gonna go fluff from the start. In fact, I do not like crunch. I’m gonna play lighthearted, without any drama if possible.

Pay very close attention to the very end of both main essays. At the end we have a specific Terms And Agreements phrases that you'll need to put in the updated bio itself, not just out here in another post.

• ethnicity: white
• appearance: Grey eyes, waist-length straight black hair with a yellow bow hairband in it. Wears a loose, yellow tank top and grey shorts. She wears brown leather sandals. There is a pendant hanging around her neck that has a stone on it that looks like a water stone, but the colour of a dawn stone.
• ties to an organization: Her adopted parents are ex aether foundation employees/scientists.
• region of origin: Alola. Currently lives in konikoni city.
• backstory: Not much is known about Lila up until she was found on a beach with a mantyke after a storm in heahea city. Lila seemed exhausted, but the mantyke was completely unscathed. Lila was also wearing her pendant. She was adopted by the two aether foundation employees who had found her and lived at aether paridise with them until one was promoted to a scientist and they discovered the dark secrets behind the foundation (mostly just ultra wormhole reaserch and a bit about cosmog). They resigned and bought a house in konikoni city. In 2016, Lila decided to go travelling around the world and has traveled through many regions and is arriving back home shortly. She caught a few new pokemon on her travels and has not traveled to Kanto or Johto.
• personality: Kind and friendly, though airheaded and reserved. Quite protective of her pokemon and doesn't like seeing them hurt. She is an avid swimmer and mantine surfer, but prefers to mantine surf without the special harness they normally wear. She hardly ever falls off mantine. Her falling off a mantine is often a sign that something is seriously not right. She is trying to learn monese, but still has a long way to go and often mistranslates.

• bio: This is the mantyke that Lila was found with who has since evolved. Loves surfing and diving with Lila and is quite chill. Likes blue poke beans and does not like green ones. Also enjoys eating seaweed.

• ability: suction cups
• bio: Lila caught Remi when she was fishing on Alola route 8. She was looking for a remoraid so that she could evolve Marie. She caught a remoraid and evolved Marie, then Remi evolved shortly after. Remi enjoys being petted, playing with Marie and squirting Lila in the face. The two get on relatively well, though.

• Nickname: Isla
• Gender: Female
• ability: normalize
• bio: Lila caught Isla in Hoenn and named her Isla because Hoenn looks like an island. Isla likes batting flowers with her paws and chasing her tail. She also likes swimming, though she is not very good at it. She has a grumpy streak though, and can get annoyed when not groomed regularly. She likes the taste of the fruit that grows on Tutti.

• bio: Tutti was caught when Lila played the safari game in sinnoh. Tutti is often Lila's main form of transport from city to city, because he has relatively good, albeit slow, flying skills. He cannot fly from region to region though. When he is not flying though, he enjoys lounging about in a patch of grass. He is quite gentle, but gets angry if someone tries to hurt Lila or Isla. He gets on very well with Isla.

• nickname: Yubie
• gender: male
• ability: telepathy
• bio: Nervous and reserved, but trusts Marie and Lila. Uses telepathy to act as a translator and help in Lila's studying of monese. He was captured in unova when he saved Lila from some litwick in Celestial tower.

• species: vivillon (marine pattern)
• nickname: Sapphire (Sapphy)
• gender: female
• ability: shield dust
• bio: Sapphire was caught in kalos as a scatterbug who evolved quickly. She is extremely vain and loves it when other people and pokemon admire her. She wishes she was a sunset pattern vivillon because she thinks they are more beautiful than her. She is fiercley competitive with other vivillon. She loves sweet food and also nectar from flowers.

For the most part, it looks good! I just want to be sure about a timeline thing — how old was Lila when she appeared?

I can tell this is definitely a character that will have some interesting development to her, at least. Is it safe to assume she's a Faller or similar? It's totally fine to have such a character as the one you sign up with, it just means that you'll probably have to work with other members of the RP to help smooth it out for when you want to explain her past in-universe. Heck, it could even still be a secret, and I'd be 100% willing to hash out the details privately!

The one final thing I feel is worth mentioning is in regards to grammar/syntax, specifically capitalization of (1) Pokemon names, (2) place names (e.g. Kalos, Kanto), etc. We also tend to treat moves and Abilities as proper nouns — for example, having Suction Cups, the Ability, is different from having suction cups just as a general biological feature. This is admittedly a minor thing, though, it just makes for easier readability.

Yeah, pretty much what Bitters said. Your signup mostly looks A-OK, we just need to know if Lila's origin story before being washed up on the beach is kosher. I mean part of the reason I ask is I also have a character that washed up on the beach and has ties to a mysterious necklace, but the fine details were ones I couldn't do until I was in the RP a while, and we prefer newbies not pull any big suprises unless they know how the RP works.

Granted, if that's something you don't know and want to figure out later, that's OK too! We just don't want anything potentially disruptive sprung on us without warning, so if you do have something planned work it out here or in private.

Ahh, okay, a Faller from a very young age. That makes it much easier to work out, since it means less pre-Faller history, it's just a matter of "a Faller from where?" that can be a concern for later down the line. For at least your first couple months or so, though, keeping any reveals on the back-burner is probably for the best.

(also just as a silly observation, around the same time there was another character who became a Faller at around the same time, who out of sheer coincidence had the name "Lila" in the Japanese versions — in English, you'd know her as Anabel, and it's obvious that they're completely unrelated characters, it's just amusing :P)

Then again, "Faller" specifically might be a bit advanced gor a newbie, so finding another way for your char to be an abandoned amnesiac kid - or just leaving it ambiguous until you're more experienced - might be wise.

I feel like maybe the "keep it ambiguous" option is the safer one, actually — being an Amnesiac Kid would be prone to the same sorts of risks regardless of whether it's specifically due to Faller origins or not, and trying to backpedal and rework just for the sake of a "kosher" signup probably will result in a less effectively thought-out character than keeping the original plan, but not establishing the details until later when you know better what you're doing.

I was thinking of keeping it ambiguous. I didn't realise about the Anabel thing. Also I don't know what the necklace could do yet so that is ambiguous too. What do you mean by kosher?

"Kosher" just means "genuine, legitimate, safe", pretty much. And keeping it ambiguous is perfect, then! Just whenever you do decide to hash out the details later down the line, contact one of us.

Anyway, unless anyone particularly has anything else to say, I figure we should be able to get a test started?

Yubie aimed a Psybeam at the toxapex.

Yubie moved out of the way just in time, but got hit by the edge of the attack.

Yubie was focusing on firing off the Psybeam and so recieved a direct hit from the sludge bomb and got poisoned.

Lila: Yubie, no!

Lila returned Yubie to it's pokeball.

Lila: Go Remi!

Remi, assuming she had been called out for some playtime, squirted Lila in the face.

Lila: Remi! This is not the time for that... Use charge beam!

Minor nitpick, could you describe your mons preforming the attacks? even if it's just "x used y" or "x complies with their Trainer's orders"
