Witch Girl Adventures: The 13th Class

She raised an eyebrow.

"But then what? I think I might pull in that favor you owe me for trespassing. Let me stick with you, you seem to have a lot to learn for a 'Princess'. She grinned. "I'd be happy to teach you. As for a Tv? Well it's sort of a box with moving pictures..."

She began as she started to walk in the direction she assumed would return them to class.

Gary reeds sat now legged on the cold wooden floor of his small one bed room apartment staring at the small grey screen of his computer display impatiently waiting for his dial up Internet to finish refreshing.

'Soon'' he said. "They'll know that I was right.

He pressed the post button.

'Soon they all know.'

Gregory snuck round the halls of the schools keeping low and sticking to the lingering shadows of the morning light. To the trained eye he was a barely visible patch of darkness hiding in another patch of darkness. To the untrained eye he was wholly invisible.

The sniffed the air once more. His nemesis had returned and the Challenge had been issued. The Great Hunt had started.

To the humans Gregory was living up to his name sake of being quite as.. a cat. But to Gregory. Such an assertion was an insult not a compliment to his skill.

Gregory did not think of other cats as being l quite or sneaky. He thought of other cats as been Conceited, proud, and arrogant. Cats thought of themselves as the top predators, kings of both the jungle and the alley ways. But Gregory knew that to be truly quite one needed to know fear. To think of himself as prey.

He wide green eyes spotted something small and grey date out of a hole in the skirting board and quickly into a shadow. He smiled to himself. He was but a few feet away and his Nemesis was still not aware of his presence.

Gregory was not as quite as a cat. Gregory was quite as a mouse.

"A box with moving pictures? How would such a thing be possible? Boxes are..well...they are boxes. They...sit. And do nothing." She tilted her head. "And I thought you did not own these woods?" She walked alongside Terrine, trying to keep pace. "Does the box with the moving pictures tell you where you are or what to do?"

"Whoa, slow down there Princess. It's a box that shows pictures on a screen. I'm not exactly sure of the Techy bits of it, you'd have to ask someone who more then dabbles in cybermancy. But basically, it just shows you a bunch of still images in rapid succession so you think their moving... TV is weird."

She slowed down slightly. "As to it telling you were to go? No.. you're phone that you had out before might though, if you know how to work it and it's an ordinary phone.."

She pulled out the phone again and looked at it. "It can tell us where to go?" She prodded it a bit with her crystal wand. "But I have no idea how to..." She held it up to her face.

"Greetings!" When the phone did nothing, she frowned and shook it a little. "I have no idea how this contraption works. Mother and Father said it would be useful though." Something Terrine said caught her attention. "Cybermancy? What is that?"

Terrine felt confused.

"You.. where did you say you were from before? I mean, I know Cybermancy is new age thing but I didn't think it was that uncommon, to be honest. She shook her head. "As to how to use that phone of your, try turning it on? Not that I'll be much help, I was working off the phone I got when I was eight.. till that broke."

"I'm from Mu. It's another dimension that trades with the witches of this one. My parents want me to learn about other cultures, so they sent me here to study."

As she walked, she shook the phone. "And I don't know how to turn this thing on. I thought it already was since that's how I'm supposed to recieve messages. Did your phone have a way to turn it on? Maybe it would work on this one."

"An alternate dimension? Seriously... that explains.. a lot."

She looks across at the phone Cali has in her hands.

"Does it have a green button? Mine turned on just by holding that down for long enough, some of the newer phones are different though."

She looked over the phone for a green button but found none. Instead there was a small gold square. She rested her finger on it and the phone lit up. A cheerful ringtone that sounded like the Mu national anthem started up and the screen lit up with white light.

She looked at Terrine and jumped in place. "I think it's working! Let's try to send a message!"

Terrine's eyes lit up as she looked at the phone.

"Fancy much huh? That is really cool, way to go Princess! Umm.. see if it gives you options, like send or call. Those should do what you want."

Gregory he had one chance to strike is at his nemesis he still have the element of surprise. Was going to make sure he was going to use.

He extended his claws.

'Wait for it... Wait for it... Now!'

He pounced. In a single leap. He was on the small grey, it's mouth at his head

This time got you Doctor Richards' He whispered in a small triumphant voice. But some was wrong. The mouse was cold and soft to the touch, Where he should of felt a racing heartbeat. He looked down and the creature and in realised in horror that he was hold a stuff toy.

A dummy. He had falling for the simple trick.

Had a whisper.

'Not this time my dear Gregory' hear a whisper .

He felt the Tripwire break...

She looked at the phone and spoke very clearly to it. "Phone. Please send a message to the Headmistress of Brook's Pass. Calisera and Terrine are in the woods, on our way back to Cryptozoology. Send it now please." She stood there, waiting for the phone to do it's thing.

It didn't do anything.

Terrine giggled.

"Wow. Didn't they give you a walk through or something? Try hitting some more buttons, as fancy as it looks I doubt it's voice activated."

She shook her head and began randomly pressing every button she could find. As she did, she kept walking forward, not really paying attention to where she was going as she tried to get the blasted phone to do...anything really! "Father said I'd learn how to use it once I was over here. But Father tends to trust people to figure things out for themselves."

"Your father sounds like a trusting man, I guess that explains where you get it from."

Terrine grinned, but soon enough her smile faulted as she looked at the phone in the other girls hands.

"Wait. You do actually have peoples phone numbers on that thing right?"

"Why would I have numbers on a device that sends messages?" She was still poking at it, walking through the forest blindly.

'Why is she taking so long Sandy' said Michelle worried.

'Don't worry Michelle,' said Sandy 'she be back'.

Her voice was calming and reassuring, but sandy was started to get worried herself. What was taking Cali so long?

"Well, the numbers are more of a way of letting the phone know you you are trying to call. They work like, names I guess?" Terrine tried to explain.

I don't know, technology is weird."

The girls stop talking suddenly, one of bushes near them had menacingly growly menacingly. Cali was new to this world but knew such sounds were consistent of less of a bush and more of a large Aggressive animal.

She was about to reply when the bush rustled. "Eep!" She jumped back, dropping the phone and then raising her wand. "G-g-greetings?! We don't wish a-any harm. J-just come out slowly and peacefully. O-okay?" She pointed the pink crystal towards the bushes, hand shaking.

Terrine stepped back caustiously.

"Princess, back away. Come out you! This is my prank target get your own or at least help us get back to class!"

The large monsterus stood up, it was the most strangest thing the girls had ever saw. It was the shape and size of bear but it's was a golden translucid color. Cali could see sticks, stones and even the bones of small animals floating where it's belly should be.

It's eyes however, glowed like gems and look looked at the girls hungrily

"Oh. wow... Um.. not a prankster then. This.... this could be bad. Princess, we should leave. I couldn't bear it if we were killed by this thing."

Terrine muttered as she took another pace backwards.

Calisera waved her wand nervously. "Y-you're the strangest thing I've seen yet on this world." She remembered something her guards always said about befriending strange animals. She reached out her other hand slowly, so as not to pose a threat.

"N-nice whatever-you-are. G-good whatever-you-are. It's okay. We're not a threat. We're students here. We don't want to hurt you or chase you or anything nasty, okay? I'm Calisera and this is Terrine and we're friends, okay?" She continued to reach forward slowly, her wand at the ready just in case.

"Umm princess.. what are you doing? Stay away from the nice Gelo Bear... who is a big beautiful creature who doesn't want to eat us.. no you don't? Right?"

Terrine gives a "What the hell?" Look to the Princess.

"You know, if you hadn't wandered into the woods, making me follow you for a laugh. We wouldn't have lost our bearings and we'd be fine looking at something not threatening..."
