Is it wrong I can't tell if Isayama picked Eren's last name because he planned to turn him into a bird since the beginning or if he researched birds he could turn Eren into and found one that fit to the point of being uncanny.

Going back to the idea that this is a How I met Your Mother situation where the ending was written long ago(it certainly was, since the third ending basically had the entirey of it written down several years ago), my only question, how does that work ?

Like, from my understanding, HIMYM was a tv series where the finale was ready from the start in case of cancellation, and when they blew up and the series became a hit they introduced a lot of red herrings and side plots to pad out until the day they'd have to air the finale.

But, how does that work for SNK ? Like, what part of the narrative could be omitted for the ending to happen like this and be cohesive with the rest ? It doesn't really feels like there was much fillers or padding in snk. I dunno, it just bugs me.

I'm still confused as to what was supposed to be Eren's endgame for the Rumbling in this chapter.

From the translation I got, he went to play the bad guy so his friends were the ones to save the world, and went with the flow because he lost the concept of lineal time. So, the alliance are seen as heroes by the world at large, and it is Paradis the one preparing for war despite that being unneeded; ironically, because of Eren.

I guess, as usual, people are interpreting details as the main focus.

So only Paradis wants to go to war and the rest of the world wants to try for peace? I guess that makes me feel a bit better since the unanswered cycle of revenge really bothered me. Granted, I wish the Yeagerist reign would just collapse already.

Alright I caved in and read the crappy fantranslation and I thought it was frustrating because I particularly like the idea of Eren's 4D chess Lelouche rumbling plan end up horribly failing but trying to tie in the (unnecessary) details that makes it all fall apart such as Eren's tantrum, Mikasa being important for Ymir's plan (WTH) Eren killing his own mother.

They’re clearly showing Paradis at large fully supports it so it doesn’t feel like it.

Honestly the Mikasa thing wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t intentionally trying to make a comparison being the man who enslaved, hunted her for sport, used her as a weapon of war, raped, etc. Ymir to the “love” Mikasa has for Eren. All of which this final chapter really solidified as gross and unhealthy.

I guess I could see a Cold War happening between Paradis and the world. Maybe Paradis is gonna be like a Soviet Union thing and it'll collapse in a century or so. Keith did tell his recruits to wait for their moment to take back the island.

Yeah, it's basically Eren setting up for the Alliance to be the new Tybur family that the world honors and now the Alliance is negotiating on the world's behalf to make peace with Paradis. The world doesn't want war anymore but unfortunately, Paradis has descended into fascism led by their fascist queen, Historia, who agreed with Eren's "ideals" and that peace truly won't happen until one side exterminates the other. The ending leaves it ambiguous on which route Paradis will inevitably take. Will Armin succeed with his diplomacy and bring peace or will Historia cling to her new ideals and lead Paradis down the route of genocide and likely either its own self-destruction or the birth of a new Eldian Empire?
